Okay I have like a million comments but I'll try to contain myself. Firstly, I think this was your best video ever ever ever. Well produced, great content, cozy academic vibes. All the yesses to you! Okay, secondly, THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING BUNNY!!!! I consider myself a smart, educated woman but at the end I was like WTAF?! I liked the book quite a bit but didn't know what I read lool so I appreciate your theory/explanation. Thirdly, I love the love you have for books! I love love books so much, they were my protection throughout my whole life, my escape from traumatic circumstances but I find as a woman I'm more jaded about reading, somewhat negative, somewhat hard to impress and I miss the unbridled passion and joy you find in books. Thank you for that and I really hope I can find my joy - I'm still a voracious reader but it's lost its joy and shine for me.... I don't know how to get that back...

Loved this secret TBR! I’m one of those people who loved A Deadly Education, but I didn’t have any expectations going into it. I’d recommend The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, it’s slow, but it’s Dracula meets dark academia.
You should do a read/study with me video! It would be so cute. I use them all the time to help me focus on school work or reading because my friends aren't in school anymore.

I freaking loved Bunny! But I love it even more now after hearing your thoughts on it. That book has so many layers. I didn’t even see all those parallels between creating characters in stories and what they were doing in Smut Salon. It’s so brilliant. 😊

Yesss I'm so glad you loved If We Were Villains! That was also one of my favorite books of the year/maybe even of all time. I absolutely loved the characters so much and loved how, in contrast to a lot of other dark academia, this was more a story of how good people can be pushed to do bad things. Bunny and Ninth House were also more favorites of the year for me!

OMG...SOMEONE ELSE WHO FELL IN LOVE WITH BUNNY. That book is one of my all time favs despite everyone hating on it. And holy crap finally someone who has a like for ines! I was getting really sick of a lot of people saying they hated her because she acted arrogant or unattached which is not even the case. She obviously loved her friends , and why when a female character suddenly has confidence people describe them as cocky or arrogant -_- I absolutely loved this book because I get so sick of weak protagonists who lack confidence.

I absolutely LOVED If We Were Villains! When I finished I was so sad it was all done that I got the audiobook to listen to it as well - I didn't love the audiobook, but it was nice.
Bunny sounds intriguing, I might get the audiobook for it and listen to it :)
I have the same feelings of giving bad ratings. I also agree 100% with A Deadly Education. Not only to your points, but the info overload took away from trying to enjoy the plot. I wish I could have your optimism on Bunny. While I am glad I didn't DNF like I was going to, I am not intuitive and didn't pick up on ANY of what you did! CANNOT wait for If We Were Villans!! Trying to wrack my brain for recs for you, but I think you and aToW read The School for Good and Evil RIGHT before I joined for the Wonderland Readathon. I just read the first, and it is BY FAR my favorite school setting (after Hogwarts)!!

I've read "If We Were Villains" just last night when it is raining so hard and there is a power outage, it made the whole reading experience under a makeshift reading fort so atmospheric and exciting!

I understood that Sam was supposed to have a brilliant imagination and that's why her creations were so real, but you really put the whole purpose of the book together for me. I might bump up my rating now!

If you haven't read it, I wanted to recommend Waking the Moon by Elizabeth Hand, which is an older book but very dark academia.

I’m glad to hear of another person that didn’t love A Deadly Education...I was so surprised at the book considering the reviews on Goodreads.
OMG I put 3 stars to bunny because it was soooo weird and I didn't quite get it , still loved the writing style but I felt like I was missing sometign and... what you're saying make so much sense and yeah I'm bumping this one to a 4 and will going to read it again with that perspectiv)

Books set in schools etc. are one of the very few things I have zero interest in reading! Not even something as hyped as the secret history (I think a hatred of harry potter growing up has ruined the genre for me) but was this a very relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning? Especially knowing it wouldn't affect my bank balance... Absolutely! 😂❤

thank you!! It's actually a bar stool!! It's part of this ..hmm almost like a pool bar that looks like the trunks of old trees. We found it an an antique store but I think if you searched for "tree trunk tables" it might pop up!! I hope that helps!❤️

I haven't read a lot of Dark Academia, but I like Ninth House a lot. I love Vicious and sometimes I hear people lump it in with DArk Academia but it is kinda like it can be but isn't really.

You got more out of Catherine House than I did. I didn’t get a feeling of the characters at all. I was very meh about it. I didn’t hate it, but can’t tell you what I liked about it. I couldn’t put it down, but also didn’t enjoy the process of reading it - which it very odd. I’ll be keeping an eye on the author though, I’d love to read anything else she writes.

I think the Truly Devious series is a total Dark Academia series. There's an isolated school, old and new murders, some political views.. it was really good.
I haven't read the book, but I was expecting that you would say that Skull and Bones used bones as their divination method. If they didn't, it seems like a missed opportunity.

I'm not disagreeing with your points on A Deadly Education, but I just want to say that the school isn't really intended to be like a regular school. The monsters would attack them anyway and they actually get sent to the school because it gives them a higher chance for survival, especially if they are rich. Think of it more like Camp Half Blood from Percy Jackson but less effective at protecting the kids. So there are no teachers, the school is kind of the teacher in that it assigns the work and punishes you if you don't do it but its not about getting good grades and being ruthless is kind of encouraged. I'm not defending the book overall, I completely agree with you on how El treats the hero character and I was a little disappointed with the writing in general since I loved Spinning Silver, but I've seen a lot of misconception on the "school" setting.

Is it terrible I’m glad you didn’t like A Deadly Education? 🙈 I was so excited about the concept but I had so many issues with the book and the world that I really didn’t enjoy it. But I knew it had high ratings so I thought it was just me!!
I know this is probably a dumb question… but is Harry Potter Dark Academia too??? I’m new to the concept of Dark Academia but a lot of this stories sound just like adult-ish version of Harry Potter
I had to dnf Catherine House. Nothing happened for too long and I don’t have time for that (cuz I’m already old). I get offended when people compare If We Were Villains to the Secret History which is an amazing book and Villains just isn’t that good in my opinion. Same with Ninth House. Snoozer! I like your videos tho.
