Chevron B-16 is pretty nice, similar in some respects..
That whole period spawned a lot of amazing and beautiful racing cars, look at Porsche's 917, those were (unfairly as told by some) very competitive into the 70's.

just because this is a great car doesn't men hybrids or full electrics are no good as the comment implies they are the future they can be exciting too
A tesla model 3 dual motor AWD and battery system in one of these cars would be mind blowing. No finicky high strung engine with tons of valve overlap that can't handle low RPM operation, just instant power and torque. But the silence would be so annoying though!
And it will be.. hopefully🙄
