Bunna12 is definitely one of the best of 12-year-olds, CS is a huge step up, beautiful whiskey I never found anyone who did not like it. Thank you guys! Another great one.
Agreed. I would rather two bottles of the standard 12 than a bottle of the 12 Cask Strength (which kind of tastes the same but more abv) which is twice the price.
Talk about good timing. I just picked up a couple of bottles on sale yesterday. I always like to have a bottle of Bunna 12 on the shelf but it's been a wee while. It's such a solid dram and great price/quality. I paid £36 a bottle. The Cask Strength 12 is twice the price and the 18 is about £100 more. I like both of those whiskies but not much more than the regular 12. I'm not quite sure I think it's as good as it was a few years ago but that's not surprising. I'm on record as saying that distilleries have got a major cask sourcing problem and corners are being cut. More refill bourbon and STR casks in a lot of stuff these days. The old Bunnahabhain 12 ratio was 75% ex-bourbon and 25% ex-sherry but what's going on with those casks? Anyway, It's great to see you re-review stuff. We all change and you guys have a lot more experience than you did 10 years ago. Ralfy re-reviews stuff periodically and that's a good thing because, as I say, we change and so does the whisky. Cheers fellas. WT
I love this pour! I enjoy a dram here and there! Very reasonably priced IMO for what I get from this single malt! Awesome video! I always appreciate your opinions Bart and Scott! You guys are awesome! You also make me laugh!! Lol! I love the distillery and I am heading back for a visit right there and of course to all of my favourite Islay distilleries and others who make amazing scotch! I like this ABV! 46.3% is nice! It's not overwhelming with the sherry! Right now I am going for more bourbon aged scotch! Cheers! I made delicious Barley the other night and served delicious fresh oven roasted salmon over the barley! Mind blowingly fabulous! I had tried it at a really nice restaurant locally!!
I always get a black licorice hit from Bunna 12, or it you’re being fancy: “A remnant of Parisian star anise, from a small pastille shoppe on the East side of a small shady rue, on a Tuesday in September” Either one.
Jeez man... Why so late?... (Edit: ok so you sampled it in 2013-2015...) This is a great dram! I taste also a bit of sulfur in there. Some (rotten) vegetables...

Defo the best bang for buck bottle out there. Far better than many at twice the price.

agreed!

Love the Bunna 12! Haven’t had it in awhile But I am trying to decide between buying a new bottle of Bunna 12 or trying the Caol Ila 12-year-old
