The thing I find intresting about Grimm is that a lot of shows start strong and dwindle as seasons go by, Grimm just better and better the more they made.

Renard is all about power and becoming Mayor has a nice ring to it for him. He was almost killed if not for his mother taking and hiding him from the royal's. He became a police chief if he can win he is going to do what ever he has to for that position.

I love the fact that Nick didn't tell Adalind about the stick, and Adalind didn't tell Nick about her powers. It's not trust being on the rocks, it's two people with a ton of history, most of it as enemies, still working out how to fully trust each other. It takes time, so I'm glad they didn't just go, they're in love so everything is perfect now, instead it's more realistically building. Also, the keys & what the Grimm ancestors hid was something Renard & the royals were obsessed with, and used Adalind & her Mom to try to grab the key, so, better to be careful. Renard's distance is really a perspective thing, I saw one other person in the comments who agreed with your views, though I'm sure there's more, but I really don't think of Renard as ever having been a part of the team. Maybe an honorary part of it, but he was really not trusted & for good reason. He is technically a royal, and he is their Captain so he was involved, but they kept him away from the keys, the books, and Trubel, Nick's Mom etc. Renard has his own motivations, usually having to do with the royals, who don't come up much anymore. As for Eve & Juliette, I don't think Eve was testing Renard, I don't think she trusts him at all. That doesn't mean anything, I doubt she trusts anyone, but remember that Juliette's biggest interaction with Renard was first when they were obsessed with each other & making out, then when Juliette became a Hexenbiest & she was staying with him, without telling Nick, & they had sex. So, Juliette technically cheated on Nick, with his boss, and that was never really mentioned again. Still, doubt that makes Eve think, Renard, there's a guy who can be trusted. Renard, gray, but fun to watch, at least to me.

Oh, I really enjoy Adalind & Nick onscreen, they do have great onscreen chemistry so I find myself more emotionally engaged that I was when it was Nick & Juliette, it's complicated & fun. Though Nick & Juliette was already established when the show started so we didn't see their fumbles. Also, Adalind regaining her powers isn't comparable to Juliette becoming a Hexenbiest. Adalind grew up as a Hexenbiest, she had decades of experience dealing with the emotional surges. I mentioned this after Juliette turned but Wesen turning for the first time in or near puberty seems important to me as you're never more emotional. Being that emotional, with the Wesen urges packed on, will help you learn how to deal with both at the same time. So, in many ways, it's just like puberty, Juliette had no experience & pushed away everyone who did. Sorry about the length of my comments to anyone who reads them, I ramble, but I embrace it, it's me, Mr. Held-up-a-thesaurus. It slipped & hit me in the face.

BTW, have you seen the Grimm webisodes? It's deleted storielines, that didn't fit into the original episodes. I believe they are on youtube, and you should have seen the context-episodes already. They are called, in order, "Bad Hair Day", "Meltdown", and "Love is in the air".

There is a reason for Nick keeping the stick a secret from Adalind and its really stupid, I'll follow up on this once you are close to the end of season 5 as to not risk spoiling anything.
As for you noticing them putting Eve scenes after Nadalind ones, idk how to respond to this one. My answer will make sense later, I swear.

there is so much i want to say, but almost nothing that i can! personally i really really like Eve more so i think than i liked normal juliette. i do agree that coming from the last episode was always gone be quite the transition. it was never the less quite interesting i think. we got a new wesen and a repeat of an otherwise rarely used wesen. so that was cool. plus i personally love it when we get wesen from that are essentially from other cultures. the spanish wesen episodes have always been my favorites of those. so i enjoyed this episode.

Everything about this episode is wrong. The first thing that should have happened is a wrestler comes to a shop to get his mask fixed. the shopkeeper berates him for owning such a cheap mask. The wrestler admires the masks of champions on the wall and expresses a desire to be like them. The shopkeeper tells the wrestler that he made the masks for them that made them champions and tells the wrestler the price and the rules that must be followed for a fame and power. Nick and Monroe arrive at the spice shop eager to open the chest. Rosalie notices that Monroe's arm is bandaged, but is waiting on a customer as they rush through to his workroom. They are busy with the chest when Rosalie finds out Monroe was bitten and starts preparing something to soak his arm in that she can tell has gotten infected. Once the locks are unlocked the chest opens to reveal a stick inside. Monroe passes out and Rosalie tears off the bandage, sees how bad the bite is and orders Nick to help her get his arm into the tub she set up. Nick has the stick in his hand at it presses against Monroe's arm as he helps move Monroe. Behind them a portal is starting to form. Rosalie notices the arm is healing and in a moment is completely healed. Nick looks at the stick and then quickly puts it back into the chest and closes it. The portal closes. The wrestler puts on his performance in the ring and loses and we find out this is what he is paid to do. The wrestler wants to be a champion and makes a deal with the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper is part of the Latin phrase gang and is given a target that will not join them. The shopkeeper paralyzes the victim, takes him to his shop, reveals that he is Wesen and so is the victim who is given a drug to keep him in Wesen form. The victims face is them removed while he is still alive and the shopkeeper turns it into a mask. The wrestler does not listen and wears it while working out in his apartment and comments that it seems to be sticking to his face after a long workout before his next match. Nick and Hank have found the faceless victim and identified him. Monroe knows the victim and that he is Wesen. Rosalie calls Ariel and asks if T can check his program about rituals requiring the removal of the victim's face. This ritual was done by a certain type of Aztec Wesen that captured the Wesen's essence in a mask that was then given to elite warrior. Warrior that wore this mask too long or too often would get lost in the mask and become as dangerous to their allies as to their enemies. Only a telekinetic can remove the mask from the person after this has happened. After showing off and winning his match the wrestler decides to keep the mask on thinking it can only help with a couple ladies that have given him their attention. The wrestler that was supposed to win is angry and attacks him in the alley. Still wearing the mask the wrestler loses control and kills the other wrestler and now cannot remove the mask. Nick and Hank head him off and it takes both Adalin and Sean to remove the mask from his face without taking most of his skin with it. Nick and Hank "arrest" the wrestler a couple days later after they have made a duplicate mask. The mask is placed in a box and buried in the woods. They all agree to keep the stick in the chest since the chest in made to shield the stick from being located. Monroe finds out what Adalind did to protect Rosalie and thanks her. Truble is so far ahead of her class at the academy that she will graduate early.
