I have traveled to England 5 times and briefly to Dublin and Belfast with my late husband, and now I want to take my adult son to Ireland after travel is safe, post-COVID restrictions. Leaving for England next month for work and plan on meeting a friend in Ireland. This would be a great way to travel instead of just flying to Dublin. Thanks for the tip.
This is not relavent to this video but I thought of you when I saw it. Ship pass at walmart costs $50 a year. It gets you All shipping free instead of $7 a time. So it pats for itself.
Last time I went to Dublin for one night (literally) I drove to the port and parked rather than using SailRail. I wish I had used SailRail rather than driving and parking. It's seriously cheap (cheaper than a normal return to Holyhead, and only a few pounds more than a foot single ferry fare), though more than my £40 short stay foot return fare. Incidentally, you can get a through ticket to anywhere in Ireland, but as far as I know ONLY if you use the Holyhead route. For Fishguard, Birkenhead and Cairnryan I don't think you can book further than the port on the Irish side. Also, please be aware that you can't buy a SailRail ticket for the Pembroke Dock route to Rosslare.
To clear a little confusion, Wales isn't "the South West" - Devon and Cornwall are. If you thought Wales was beautiful, you should visit the South West ;-) Beautiful film.

you should of got the direct service to holyhead with no changes,its only about 5 hours from london.

I recently did the harwich to the hook van Holland across the North Sea. There's nothing like going to sleep and waking up in another country
