Fantastic discussion! I've always preferred portable gaming and dreamed of the day when I could play console games on the go or my tv. I'm loving the options I have today and love experimenting with them all (when I can afford to).
Im loving these casual discussions. I love the accessibility of portable gaming. Consoles may one day turn into a dongle but it going to be way harder to replace the portable devices
I have my steamdeck so frickin DECKed out. I love it so much. I have every game from my childhood. Wabbajack modlists for Fallout and Elderscrolls. Gaming is no longer a compromise when I travel. It's amazing and there's no going back now. Nintendo though? They relentlessly go after their own modding and emu communities. Taking down the Zelda's Ballad mod, cmon. I've loyally purchased every console, repurchased MK8 and BOTW multiple times at full AAA price for WiiU & Switch releases, bothering to legally dump my own bios and roms. They've made me feel like a fool. Steam would never make me repurchase the same game twice to play on new hardware. Companies like Bethesda and Valve, even Studio WildCard, actively support their communities, going as far as hiring mod authors and making mods official content. I agree the future of gaming is looking portable, but I'd add that the future of gaming is going to be built together. Steamdeck owes so much of it's success to open source software and mod authors. This is the kind of stuff firing me up, not sequel and remake hell. Great video, looking forward to the next epi!
BA DUM TISH. I do think open source for many things is an advantage. (These days I wouldn't call Bethesda a positive role model for it) But I think there are some advantages to a closed platform and ecosystem which idk we might talk about that in a future episode. Also we def have topics about Nintendo and Emulation lined up for future episodes as well :) . Either way glad you enjoyed it and hope you stick around for more
@@sarge1445 Would love to hear you guys talk about Nintendo & Emulation! Open vs closed platforms would be an interesting talk too. I agree there are some advantages to closed platforms but I believe we have a right to repair/mod/emulate.
Great Discussion, Good to hear from you guys again. Definitely loved the Vita and it was ahead of it's time and I was sad it went no where. Sony Shot themselves in the foot with those memory Cards. I would like to see Sony Tackle Portable again.
@@solidkratos963 Well glad to see you have been keeping an eye on us. Also if you ever need a long as shit podcast we got one of those that goes up every week here as well lol.
Absolutely agree with being over the expensive amorphous blob game.
