One thing I like visually is that in the three way phone call scene, Regina is on the left and Cady is on the right. Later, when Cady takes over as the queen bee, on the next phone call scene SHE is on the left and Regina on the right - also visually taking over her position.
wow, I’ve probably seen this movie at least 10 times but I never noticed that before! edit: oh my God, when that scene came on in this video I looked at it again and Cady is even lying on her bed in the same pose as Regina. that’s brilliant
My brother is a former US Marine and he is unashamedly a huge fan of this movie. He thinks it is absolutely hilarious. Always has. Even if there is a certain demographic they were aiming for, they managed to make 20-something year old tough men huge fans of it as well. So your love of it is not weird. It’s a phenomenal movie. Loved hearing your laughter throughout.
I don’t think they were aiming for a broader demographic as the jokes are filled with nuances that only literates can understand. HOWEVER, a lot of people think that the jokes making fun of the ones who are saying it aren’t a criticism to society but actual real funny jokes. Like the redneck kids talking about “homosexuals.” Some might think “ha, homosexuals”, when the joke is on the people who think that way. And so on.
that’s great but I hope he’s ashamed of being a former terrorist and is a former one because he uses his heart&brain and helps their victims instead now
I absolutely love how invested you are with everything you watch and how you show empathy for everyone, including characters that might be written to be one-dimensional. This is one of my favorite comfort movies, I'm so glad you reacted to it! Keep it up!!!
Mean Girls is endlessly hilarious and quotable. A true classic. If you haven’t already, Legally Blonde and the House Bunny are also great comedies that some guys might overlook because of the movie posters or trailers.
If you want to watch more movies in the same realm as Mean Girls, I would recommend Heathers (1988) if you never seen it. It is a more dark and cynical movie, I think it was supposed to be a dark satire of the more optimistic teen movies that came out at the time like Sixteen Candles or the Breakfast Club. The movie even inspired a popular musical of the same name that came out in the 2010s 😊
@@FRU1TC0LA As someone who loves both, I don't think there's enough similarities to fully say that there was inspiration but a fun connection is that the writer of Heathers: Daniel Waters is the older brother of the director of Mean Girls: Mark Waters
Aaron Samuels is played by Johnathon Bennett. He still acts, but it mostly known now as Host of those holiday dessert shows like Cake Wars. He wrote a cook book based on the Burn Book from this movie. He also has a husband Jaymes.
A few days ago my friend said to me he couldn't join me for an online gaming session and i literally said 'boo, you whore' in Regina's accent and he was crying laughing. It just came out i swear.
regina thought Janis was lesbian because Janis said she was Lebanese & regina thought she said she was a lesbian 💀 this movie is so damn funny edit: JUST A THEORY BTW NOT A FACT
There's that, and I don't think reactors react enough to Regina's story about their falling out. She says something like "like whenever I would blow her off to hang out with a guy she'd get upset with me and I'd be like why are you so obsessed with me?" So even in Regina's version of the story, Janis was only getting upset *because Regina was actively blowing her off,* which is basically a normal human reaction lol.
I always see this comment and I'm not sure that's true. When Regina is talking about Janis to Catie, she says "Janis you can't come to my pool party cause I think you might be a lesbian". If Janis told Regina she was Lebanese and and Regina thought she was saying lesbian, then she wouldn't say "i think you might be a lesbian", she would say "you told me you were a lesbian".
@@ceeeegeee To me it makes sense because why would they even include that moment in the movie where she tells the guy that she's Lebanese, it was totally unnecessary to the plot unless it was meant to be perceived as that joke. Plus Regina could've said "I think you might be a lesbian" after she heard it going around maybe Janice didn't tell it to her directly that she was Lebanese.
Nah, that's speculation, the actual writer said it wasn't true. Regina thought Janis was a lesbian because of what she explains, the jealousy. They made Janis say she is lebanese to get her with Kevin as a joke, maybe they didn't realize it sounded similar? I mean they needed a country where she could pass as a woman of color idk?

I just rewatched this over Christmas and basically talked along to every line because it's just so memorable, it's been endlessly quoted in pop culture since it came out. I still say, "the limit does not exist!" when something is extreme (like "oh my gosh this food is so so good" or "I have literally a million things to do like x and y and z") all the time. Or when my mom is doing something to mimic young people like misusing slang, I say, "I'm not like other moms, I'm a cool mom" and my mom groans and says, "oh no tell me i'm not really acting like that" because she cringes so hard at that character. Or when my sister is complaining about her bushy hair, I quote, "that's why her hair is so big, it's full of secrets." Honestly, there are probably about 50+ lines I pull out occasionally because it's just THAT iconic and applicable to so many situations. It was so fun getting to watch someone experiencing it for the first time!

I had a friend in high school who would find out which boy I had a crush on and then suddenly have a crush on them too. It was honestly ridiculous. None of the cute boys knew or cared I existed and I still to this day have no idea why she thought it necessary to sabotage the 0% chance I had with any of them anyway.
The one thing that bothers me about Aaron in the scene where she throws up on him, is him wondering why Cady didn't just talk to him, and seemingly misunderstood that Cady was saying Regina was possessive of him and treated him as property, but when he offered to start tutoring her he knew to keep it a secret from Regina because she'd be mad if they hung out. So like. He knew why she couldn't just talk to him lol. And even if he meant before he got back with Regina, he knew that Regina got back with him right after telling him that Cady liked him, so even if he completely believed Regina just wanted to get back with him, it really doesn't take much thinking to realize why Cady couldn't "just talk to him" while being friends with Regina lol.
If you’re diving into the 90s-2000s teen high school comedies, I’d definitely recommend The New Guy and She’s the Man. 2 of my favorite underrated movies!

I'm a bit too poor to join the patreon rn so hopefully this gets seen but I would love to see your reaction to a comfort movie of mine, Legally Blonde!
i absolutely love this movie and a good part of that is because they mentioned my godfather in it!! when cady stays home instead of going to madison with her parents, it's because they went to a ladysmith black mambazo concert her mom says (when cady said she didn't want to go) "but you love ladysmith black mambazo!" well, the leader and founder of ladysmith is my godfather! they did some music in lion king 2, among many other things, but it was such a shock to hear the name mentioned the first time i saw this! she should have gone, ladysmith black mambazo concerts are great i've seen a good few of them and always got to go to the green room before and after concerts and have dinner with them and stuff, but the concerts really are great and totally worth it we (my family and i) are still in contact with his grandson and my mom and dad are friends with their manager and several other members, but my godfather passed in february of 2020 they're still amazing concerts, and i highly recommend going if you have the chance, it's just not the same as when he was there :(
Lindsay is a really talented actress, and this film orived that. Her character growth from beginning to end is amazing to watch. Especially considering that a film is shot out of order.
Great reaction, love how you picked up on Cady's change in looks as well as Aaron having essentially no personality shown. I'd highly recommend you check out the film St Trinian's (2007). I'd say it's somewhat similar, with it being a comedy about a new girl at a school and her trying to find her place there. However it's British and goes in a different direction, still full of 2000s edginess though.
This movie was funny because Tina Fey wrote it, (she plays Cady's teacher) and Lorne Michaels produced it. I don't know if you've ever seen SNL (Saturday Night Live) but it's that style of comedy and how so many great comedians got their start like The Blues Brothers, Eddie Murphy and many others.
I wish they would stop referring to Africa like its a country, but love the reaction. I still think Janice needed to take some accountability for what happened.
It wasn't based off of Heathers it's based off a book for parents called "Queen Bees and Wannabes". There are genre similarities but it's not based off of it at all.

Great reaction!! You really need to check out the movie Heathers - it’s the OG mean girls and is funny as hell but a lot darker. Stars Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
This movie was so well planned out and written. I know its based off a book, but the way the plot develops between those characters, and how the powers shift, and the many many lessons the plot actually teaches you is insane. And many thought this was just going to be another empty teen movie with no substance. Its so cleverly done. I remember a UK interview with Mariah Carey around that time, who was gushing about the movie and saying how quotable it was. Then she brings out a song called "Obsessed" ('why're you so obsessed with me?!') Pure genius 😂 One of my all time favourite movies❤

mean girls is a classic, such high quality throughout! awesome reaction :D
Night at the museum
I used to watch this movie on repeat as a preteen 🤣🤣🤣 such an iconic film honestly
If you’re diving into the 90s-2000s teen high school comedies, I’d definitely recommend The New Guy and She’s the Man. 2 of my favorite underrated movies!
Your reaction was so good 🎉
36:30 as someone whos lebanese, i was SO happy when i found out that we have representation in a movie made in the 2000s! also people have mistook lebanese as lesbian multiple times lol. good thing im both
What an ICONIC movie! I remember seeing it in theaters with my friends when I was in junior high school and it’s still just 10/10 lol. We still commemorate October 3rd and make a post if we happen to wear pink on a Wednesday
"No way, they were right?!" We literally have a scene where they walk in on the coach and the student making out, lol.
Probably because I grew up in a private school and used to only seeing teachers wearing casual clothing… lol.
@@thecocoacouch That makes sense, actually. 😂
You're the most baby, sweetest youtuber. I love your reactions. ❤
I'm a bit too poor to join the patreon rn so hopefully this gets seen but I would love to see your reaction to a comfort movie of mine, Legally Blonde!
i absolutely love this movie and a good part of that is because they mentioned my godfather in it!!
when cady stays home instead of going to madison with her parents, it's because they went to a ladysmith black mambazo concert
her mom says (when cady said she didn't want to go) "but you love ladysmith black mambazo!"
well, the leader and founder of ladysmith is my godfather! they did some music in lion king 2, among many other things, but it was such a shock to hear the name mentioned the first time i saw this!
she should have gone, ladysmith black mambazo concerts are great
i've seen a good few of them and always got to go to the green room before and after concerts and have dinner with them and stuff, but the concerts really are great and totally worth it
we (my family and i) are still in contact with his grandson and my mom and dad are friends with their manager and several other members, but my godfather passed in february of 2020
they're still amazing concerts, and i highly recommend going if you have the chance, it's just not the same as when he was there :(
This was such a joyful watch.
I started watching your Friends reactions a while back and have stayed for those and the movies. Always great reactions. Thanks!
Fun fact: all three of the male leads in this movie (damian, aaron and kevin) came out as gay sometime after they starred in this movie
Kevin G is gay too?
@@mattb6704 He sure is
Lindsay is a really talented actress, and this film orived that.
Okay love this... Now Fifty Shades of Gray trilogy. It's twilight fan fiction.😊😊😊
This film is perfect! I love the humor, the lesson this film teaches, I AM IN LOVE! and PLEASE watch The Notebook, it's my favorite movie ever!
LOVE that you did this!!! mean girls is an utter classic ❤
Ok now you have to watch
"Wild Child" it' has the same vibe as Mean girls, maybe even more interesting
Coach Carr probably went to prison for petty revenge 😂
Mean girls was and is iconic, and no one even remembers it was based off of Heathers.
It wasn't based off of Heathers it's based off a book for parents called "Queen Bees and Wannabes". There are genre similarities but it's not based off of it at all.
You're reactions are so much fun. You are absolutely adorable. In my top 5 TH-cam crushes, for sure ;)
Just a fewwww suggestions.

21:50 they remind me of Heather, Beth and Lindsey from the cartoon Total Drama Island.
36:25 what screenplay? Screenplay is for theater, not for the cinemas.
Im so glad you liked this one! This movie is unhinged at its finest 😂
I really hope you watch the notebook! The noteboom and this are rachels best movies!! She was incredible in both
Regina's mom was also the voice of Joy from Inside Out as well
i wold love to see your reaction to "the parent trap"( with lindsey Lohan) and "it takes two" ( with the olsen twins ) :)
Loved the reaction! ❤ It’s SUCH an iconic movie, I swear I quote it everyday! Also you should definitely do a reaction to The Notebook, it’s an amazing movie and Rachel McAdams character is so different compared to Mean Girls, which just shows what an incredible actor she is!
You’re my favorite reactor, thanks for caring so much!
Friday
I swear my high school was exactly like this
Great reaction!!
You really need to check out the movie Heathers - it’s the OG mean girls and is funny as hell but a lot darker. Stars Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
Ooh The Notebook would be a great reaction! Be prepared for some big emotions though is all I'll say 😂
The Notebook is worth the hype. Her and Ryan Gosling pull off a beautiful performance.🎭
I can't honestly say another movie that has been quoted more than this :D It's a legend
Then she brings out a song called "Obsessed" ('why're you so obsessed with me?!') Pure genius 😂
One of my all time favourite movies❤
Well the book it's "based on" is a self-help book. So the writing quality in this movie is entirely due to the movie's script.
Always a great video Oscar. Hope you have a great New Year buddy. Wishing you all the best.😊
I love how much this made you laugh!! This is one of my favourite movies of all time! I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much!!
Can't wait to see all the reactions next year!
Happy 2024!!
This was one of my fave childhood movies - it's funny every time.
Haha, Oscar. I was in high school during this time. Before social media, smartphones, and memes were a thing, we used to just quote this movie at each other for fun.
This movie is so "fetch"😜💅
