    So the fish will be pulling the slip tip AND the shaft? Wish there could be a slip tip with it's own shooting line attached to the gun.

      The spectra is around 2ft long. Just like a normal sliptip.

    How much force can that pin take ?

    • @TableSalt17
      @TableSalt17 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the penatring force is absorbed by the spear shaft itself. This is why its much more durable compared to standard sliptip. Pin shear strength is considerable as its stainless steel.

      Great Idea!! You guys should shoot some ballistics gel!!!! How long are your floppers? I wonder if making them a bit shorter would need less penetration to engage??

      @@liljrock81 Haha but cardboard is the same density as a fish! Just kidding, love ballistics gel, might do another video with that. Good thoughts about length, the lengths we're using are what we've found to have the best foldability and penetration combination, shorter seems to have issues with some of the larger fish. If you get one feel free to trim it and let us know what you think, would love the feedback! The first ones we made were 3 inches long and still super fun to use. This one is just short of 4 inches, a little longer than a standard flopper.

    The obsession with slip-tips is unhealthy.
