I'm pretty sure the reason Toyota put the radio volume dial that far away is for the passenger to use, since the driver has the steering wheel volume control, and access to the touch screen. Also, the "check the rear seat" warning is so a driver checks to make sure they are not leaving a child back there, not just their bag. 🙂
Walked into Toyota of Las Vegas December 8th looking to replace our 2017 Highlander and 2 hybrid limited had just arrived not spoken for. Picked the moon dust color and love it. The 2017 was the best car we owned. Only traded to get a hybrid. Love it ❤
Advantage to the hybrid AWD system is you don’t need to buy 4 tires if you blow one. I have ordered a hybrid platinum to replace our 2015 highlander. Should hit 200 k miles by the time it shows up in the fall. Would have loved to have the option of a bench seat in platinum to haul all the grandkids
Waiting on our new highlander hybrid platinum coming Feb 2023! Been curious what the panoramic moonroof looks like. Thanks for sharing! Really helpful!
That's one seriously deep console when you have storage down to your elbow! Really wish they wouldn't do that 'shiny' faux wood. It looks exactly like what it is..plastic. I was on target for the 2024 RX. However, I rarely drive (work from home, market within a couple miles, etc.). So I thought I'd look at the "Mother" brand. It's nice!
I ordered this exact 2023 platinum hybrid suv last year on July 1, 2022. We are quite disappointed as whenever we ask if they have heard when we may receive this vehicle, he knows nothing. We stopped in there at Burnsville, Mn Toyota a few days ago and he said we would be lucky to receive this vehicle before Christmas. Now if that were the case then the vehicle is already a year old. Who can we talk too as this is not right! Thank you!
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that! Unfortunately I don’t have a direct contact at Toyota that would be able to help you with that. But I’ve heard rumors that Toyotas supply chain has improved a lot recently so something doesn’t sound right there.
I had a maverick hybrid which was great but I need more space. I got lucky and traded in on a hybrid LE. I wanted a higher trim but could’nt wait 6-8 months for one. They asked for 5k over msrp still for a base trim.
Are there any differences between the all wheel drive with the highlander gas version and hybrid version cause you mentioned that the hybrid version uses a part time version of the all wheel drive??
Drastic difference. In the hybrid, it just has an electric motor that can power the rear wheels. In the gas motor it has a driveshaft so they can be powered from the engine. The higher gas trims also get torque vectoring AWD.
The sport button for what?? This garbage don't have any power anyway😀 on highway wind noise will bother you many minuses this car has. Before you buying go for a test drive on highway check everything i know what I'm talking about.
2 Things They Do Not Tell You! ** Hybrid Is HORRIBLE!! ** ** BUYERS BEWARE! ** ** Do Not Buy The Hybrid!! *** Do Not Get Electronic Rear-View Mirror! ** I bought a brand new '21 Highlander Hybrid Platinum. There 2 things I found out after -- only if I knew prior -- I would not have bought this vehicle. (1) The Toyota dealership told me that they will not do undercoating due to an electrical panel/access, and/or some sort of electrical colour-wiring code that if sprayed undercoating, it would cause an issue to the mechanic if something needs to be fixed. Therefore, driving without undercoating is extremely noisy. Like coins rattling in an aluminum can. I live in the city of Calgary, not in the rural. And, we have 4 seasons here. The noise when driving in this car is absolutely ridiculous. (2) The electronic rear-view mirror: when driving at night, it displays "star burst" effect fr other vehicles' headlamps. I adjusted every angle and brightness. I brought it to the dealership, and they have no clue. It's been months now and they still have no answer. They said to me "when we get a model like yours come in for service, we'll look to compare". It's been months. Go figure. They probably are hoping that I would just forget. Either the electronic rear-view mirror display or the camera is a product of a very poor quality, or it's defective. It is annoying, nonetheless. I asked the shop manager to contact Toyota and do an inquiry regarding the electronic rear-view mirror display. He said Toyota would just tell him to do more testing. I don't know how many more tests Toyota wants to see, really. Because the dealership had my vehicles for days for test, and they agreed that there is an unusual "star burst" effect in the display. So, before you head to a Toyota dealership to purchase a Highlander Hybrid and/or pay that extra dollars for the electronic rear-view mirror option. Think about these issues!

Nice! The range on the hybrid is a big plus!

Nice!
Love the moonroof and the entire car.
One correction.. the digital instrument cluster is a 12.3" display, not a 10".

Expectting mine in late March I have a 2021 platinum and the seats are a little too firm hopefully the new 2023 hybrids are a little softer
I read that you can mute the audio by holding down the Mode button on the stirring wheel.
Very detailed review.. can you please explain how to awd . We are not able to find usual awd switch. Thank you
holly dang, the screen is huge in this one, i will wait 5 years and grab this one used lol
What are the wait times for the hybrid limited?

How much does this car go for?
Nice video. In the future please show more car interior and dasboard during test drive instead of your head 😉

Looks like you're driving in Pinellas County
is there a 3.5 hybrid?
Toyota has a 3.5 liter V6 hybrid but it’s not available in the Highlander
This video gave me motion sickness. Does anyone else see the wobble?
Very nice car. Another narrator would be an improvement.
