I love the one about not doing things that aren't necessary, like not cutting the sandwich. For me that means cutting back on TH-cam videos that aren't necessary. I actually found myself watching a video about cleaning shower doors, and I thought:why am I watching this when I don't have shower doors, I have curtains lol

😂 I sometimes do things like that too!

Love the idea of actually slowing down. There is a saying, "take the time to do it right or you will have to take the time to do it again".

I've been in that situation many times.

As a professional organizer, I’ve given people the batch work advice… only to realize just now that I rarely do it myself. I do just as you say - do a little task here… move on to a different one. Helps to keep momentum on lots of things and keep me entertained.

The one about mere seconds reminded me of a teacher I had in high school. He loved to tell us about all the tiny things he did or didn't do that might only involve seconds, but how 60 seconds add up to a minute and those minutes add up to half hours and hours. He talked a lot about being prepared and thinking ahead to save time and energy. He was equally my least favorite and most favorite teacher as a result of his classroom rules -- a lot of them felt dumb at the time, but they taught time management and executive function skills that have stayed with me for more than 30 years!

Slowing down is really important in getting things done. Years ago a Japanese carpenter told me "do the job slowly and it will be more enjoyable." I try to remind myself of that when I get too focused and start rushing things.

I love your wisdom. The brain vs body battery concept is such a key thing for me. I dont fight with my brain or body anymore. I wait until im in the right space for each, and the process goes MUCH more smoothly. ❤

Yes, trying to force it never has good results. It's frustrating apart from anything else.

I really like your point about being intentional, rather than just trying to cram in as much as possible. Thanks so much for sharing these thoughts.

Loved this video! Whilst I didn't consider myself a planner, I do like to be organised about what needs to be done (so maybe 😏). But I i like the idea of a reflection at the end of the day and note what went well that day, positive comments and what I could potentially improve on. I do have a few notebooks and I think I might just crack one of them open and start writing. 😊
