My very first ranked game I fought a thresh top. Absolutely got trashed on. In post game dude linked a master tier account that was a Thresh one-trick.
It took me a couple months to build up the confidence to try ranked again lol

This is the "Renekton phenomenon" - When Renekton full combos you and deals 70% damage. People run away instead of doing their own combo now. And this happens on other champs too, Renekton is just the best example for toplane.

Is amazing to see how people cry when a Support on top kills them, i do the same on WR, some people forget that some of the engage supps, have really descent damage basic attacks, add that to a full damage build or an annoying one, full res and all with Heartsteel, and boom, Leona, Braum, all this supps can actually work on top if you know how to take advantage of people underestimating you xD

Runes: grasp of the undying, demolish, and whatever else you want, secondary isnt too important I suggest manaflow band.
starters D-shield or Sword depending on who you lane against.
First item heartsteel, followed by the mobility boots due to the fact you can run up and drop a w without stopping the 115ms buff until you attack, so you run up and engage, and then let your team do all the damage while you poke down anyone.
Finish build with either armour + health or mr + health depending on the team comp.
Played it and its def viable

Saying thresh is unskill is kinda crazy, he got the most complex kit for support, that’s why he’s the best and hardest to learn support, his Q mechanics are different from other skill shots, caz it got a long delay. E is multi use tool, and W is best ganking tool.
Compare to riven which u just need to learn different combos, thresh takes way more skill, and riven with all those dashes can’t side step just proves how bad he is
I swear to god there's two different kinds of Riven players.
There's the ones who go 13/0 at 4 minutes because they have actually patience and skill.
And the ones who rage quit at a single death because they lost an early fight like a dunce.
The latter is almost always on your team also.
