Dude I live in Japan, and I can easily and confidently say that the Bucks were not over in NJPW. Any "pop" they might have received was because they were in proximity to Kenny, and regardless of how Corny feels, Kenny was so fucking over here, him and Ibushi were molten lava hot. The Bucks? Not really

I get the impression however that they're trying to get heat from the wrestling fans just for the sake of heat, and they do it by doing things the wrong or hokey way, to get heat.
At least that's what it seems like to me. MJF for example was praised by Jim Cornette, until MJF did the one thing that would even get Jim blazing hot in disgust. For what purpose? How is he going to redeem himself from the dinner? It's really hard to predict at this point, and if his particular gig is deliberate and he recovers from it I'm impressed. I'm not sure about the others.

The announcer DID explain it. Tully being banned was a major part of the hype video before the match. Tully came out because 1) He thinks the decision is horse shit and 2) He's still their manager. While he can't be at ringside for the match, he CAN provide advice to them on the way and be defiant about the decision as much as he can. A few weeks ago Tully tried to break Matt Jacksons ankle. Of COURSE the Bucks would lobby to have him banned from ringside.

Question now is, do the Bucks keep the belts for a time and drop them to whomever or do they relinquish them and have some type of tourney to crown new champions OR here's an idea, crown "interim tag champs" and when Matt is healthy enough have Bucks vs. "interim champs" for undisputed champs ala UFC.

I think the referee didnt stop Matt of using the chair because he didnt want to be superkicked by the Young Bucks

FTR should have retained the belts . I have no idea what I just saw . Bucks won the belts from the best team in pro wrestling for no reason .
Poor FTR , they better win the titles back or else the belts are gonna tank.

They were obviously winning cause of that stupid stipulation.

So that means the feud is over, right? And if it's not over, what else?

I thought it was a good match overall(with a bad finish), the best Bucks match in AEW and a great performance by FTR but Cornette is right, why have FTR lose there so soon? AEW just plainy cannot understand heat and psychology. Imagine if FTR had kept the belt longer then when The Bucks would have won it, it would have been special. All the things he mentioned how the match could have played out would have been great. This is how you do a storyline. AEW cannot book stories. It's just meaningless matches.

Jim's proposed scenario is some next level shit. I can forgive AEW for not coming up with something that clever, but fact is that they had a potentially classic feud in the palm of their hands and they pretty much blew it right out of the gate. Really enjoyed the match for what it was, but given the parties involved, they had the potential for so much more.
