Kenyans Where are you? Kenya Police Service has been transformed by the ruling class into a fist used against the poor. Encounters za raia wa kawaida na polisi imekuwa exhibition ya brutality, injustice and corruption. The police are the biggest con people in Kenya. I love how Janjaruka has been able to capture this and bring the conversation on con culture to the table #CONversation Piga Like If you agree.
You know the part I hate most is when I hear someone ask how such cases can happen, everyone has had their own share of being vulnerable to these con artists who are able to read body language, mindset and some even go to an extent of using juju to confuse their victims. Thanks for that perfect acting 🎭 and illustration of the situation on ground. It's very frustrating when we see the people entitled with helping the citizens turn out to be even worse than criminals themselves. Great job I would love to act too 😎
True!! I remember back in 2016, December, I was desperately looking for a one bedroom house near Uni coz I was tired of making the commute and January was fast approaching. I went online...saw this house that was a steal! It went for 12k while my budget was 15-20k. So I get to the "place", I called...he told me I I should send him deposit as many people wanted the house and he was on his way. After about 10 minutes, I called a couple of times and he wouldn't pick up. I started realizing I might have been conned. Finally he picked up and he really told me "This is Nairobi my dear you have been conned"😂😂I got help from Safaricom, I was just lucky....I got 10k back instead of 12...but honestly that was better than nothing!
@@tiffanyadenyo9903 hahaha I totally get what you mean and am so sorry for that incident it's not even funny but the last part got me unawares for real ✌️ 😎 😅
Nilishawai ibiwa simu na laptop by a gang of organized pickpockets who work with matatus along Mombasa road. I went immediately to the police station, ata 10 minutes haikufika! I gave them the details of the car, the number plate, descriptions of the passengers... And in the end, they told me to go wait at the bus station until I saw that license plate again, then alert them 😂😂😂 hakuna kitu wanasaidia!

She didn't even go inside and look at the place. Where was the lease? Everything about this transaction was shady from where she parked her car. If it's too good to be true then it probably isn't.
First of all... tenant hana haja ya kuangalia nyumba? Atleast she could have asked to check the house so that the con woman gets to give some excuses. Issa no on the flow of story.
This almost happened to me on a house I had seen online in Membly. It was own compound unbelievably cheap. I called the guy he was like watu wengi sana wanataka that house but if I send the rent and deposit he would give it to me first.Thank God something just told me to that street mentioned on the advert, the soldier told me there is no such house na hakuna any vacant house.woi
Even with evidence... 1. mpesa number and safaricom's ability to teack witdrawal locations... 2. Car details and number plate 3. Full names and ID of the scammer Nothing happens for victims of scamming. I am speaking from my own experience and that of other close friends. Hata ukienda kwa polisi nothing is done. Just victim shaming and telling you you should have known better Unless of course if you have friends in high places to speed things along for you...otherwise in kenya justice is for the wealthy...

I believe that if we gave honest feedback as filmmakers to fellow Kenyan filmmakers, we shall be improving with time. Not just saying "nice work nice work" every time. Maybe the audience can be allowed to say that but as a filmmaker,in my opinion, is a mistake to watch a film, spot a problem and fail to talk about it. No one's perfect, of course, nikujenga tunajengana in this industry & we need to support each other, and giving honest reviews is part of that, I believe. That said, the subject matter of this story is worth it .Other elements, however, have a bit of problem like Cinematography(very unmotivated camera moves.ie, the ending foot chase, unnecessary shots), Sound(which I think is a problem with many of our films), set design(;ie, the police station & bar or club betrays the film's budget coz its unbelievable), editing(just cutting for the sake of it/unmotivated), script(ie, the con-woman meeting the lady is very coincidental, flow of story is predictable). Also, those 28 mins didn't feel like there were episodes(that is hard for me to explain).I just didn't buy that. That's all.It just bothered me, I had to say.Otherwise, we got potential of course, budget ndio huwa shida. Hungry for local content and waiting for more episodes.Nothing but love.
@Cheryl Achieng this was sincere feedback and this what constructive criticism looks like. The plot for the first episode was also wanting too many loopholes in the story. Make it abit more believable. I am sorry but I couldn't continue past the first episode (house hunting ). Otherwise it's a great improvement from what I've seen on TV. I think you are talented (production team) just take more time to produce better content. Good luck.
Just watch the later episodes, Pascal Tokodi's con story. He was buying a house that he'd never seen, sent money to a seller he'd never met. This script is from true life events
