Asif now days in USA he gives coaching there. And whatever they did, they did it for money and deliberately because they were new to cricket and inside they much hunger for money.
He can not be labelled as “wasted talent”. That title goes to players like Fawad Alam, Asim Kamal, Imran Nazir, Junaid Khan and a few more.
