Just wanted to say hello from the Philippines. I'm almost 60 y.o. already but still new in the Aquarium Hobby. Just proves to show that you can never be too old to learn new things. I love Aquarium Co-Op because you have helped me with so much information in this crucial learning process from a beginner's POV. Not sure if you still have the contest/promo but I do hope I could win in your weekly Care Package.

Pond snails are the best !
I got them in my aquarium on day 1 and never had regrets.
People calling them pests did not take time to observe them long enough.
Under the light they display a wide variety of colored stripes. White, yellow, rust, beige orange and all the existing hues of brown. Some have metallic shades like bronze, copper and gold.
Each individual is different from the other.
They grow fast but also live very fast so you will be under the impression that there are too much from time to time, that's because they have hatched at the same time. One or two weeks after you'll wonder where they're all gone.
They only reproduce if there are enough food so you will lnow by their numbers if your tank is dirthy and maybe stop feeding so much.
Their eggs and youngs are live food for your fish keeping them healthy and colored. In turn this has a beneficial effect over snails overpopulating since only the lucky will grow fast enough to not be eaten.
They are tireless workers, eating all sorts of algaes, fish poop and debris 24/7 you're most guaranteed to have a very low maintenance aquarium with them inside.
Their birespiratory system is also usefull to know if your water is oxigenated enough. If it isn't you will see them often float to the surface to get air.
They will never hurt live plants working around them and cleaning them with delicacy and attention to detail.
They're the best thing I've done to my aquarium(s).

I just set up a 55 gallon that has a little land area at one end and then slopes down to full depth at the other end, I have one male and two female fiddler crabs as well as a number of different types of fish. Super fun!

I love my rabbit snail, Trinket, so named because she has a hole in the end of her snail like someone drilled it out to make a necklace out of it. When I saw her first baby I was so proud and was like...awwww! She's had three so far. Gave one to my daughter for her tank, have one in my 10 gallon to grow out in there and help that tank and one still in with mom and my African Clawed Frogs (for some reason they have no interest in my snails...they didn't even eat the mystery snail that died with half his body hanging out of his shell lol). I recently bought a second rabbit snail with a dark body and a white shell end named it Doodad. Trinket has an yellowy/orange body and is dark shelled all the way down. I didn't think I'd love a snail more than the mysteries but these guys have stolen my heart.
