I was told to cut off the bind weed and when you see it starting to grow, cut it off again and eventually it dies from not getting sunlight on any leaves.
Honestly I can attest to this being false I have had it regrow in my garden for over a year and eventually had to dig down and dig out every last piece. It can regrow of a piece as small as half a centimeter and it snaps very easily
Ive almost eradicated mine by continually untwining it from my shrubs, however my lazy neighbour has a messy garden and throws all her grass cuttings and crap into a pile behind my fence which has reached the top and now its growing from there and coming down my side and up my trees!! Im going to out a big black plastic barrier over it
The joys of having neighbours. I can't go digging up their garden, then there is the hedges it seems to grow under, it really is taking over so quickly and impossible to get rid of. Not to mention the soil being so hard and clay-like in places, digging just isn't an option. Any other ideas at all??
When I’m weeding in the garden I really enjoy digging out bindweed roots. It’s quite satisfying. Obviously I haven’t got a massive garden!

It does pull out pretty easily even when wrapped around other plants and bushes
Only if it’s at the surface. It can be quite deep 😬
We have a really heavy clay soil, shot through with bindweed. Dig it out? Not a chance...
