Hi everyone, I just bought the garmin instinct crossover solar. It's brilliant. On opening the box, the watch has power. It was easy to setup. Went for a run with it today. The information after the run was great. On my old watch, garmin instinct, I enjoy seeing the pool temperature on the watch, when I swim. Still have to figure it out on the cross over. Overall a great watch.
Do you still have the cross over and how do you like it? I haven’t bought one yet because I’ve read some people have issue with the hands being out of sync, so you have to recalibrate them often. Do you notice this?
@@MarksTech that’s the one I would have gone for but my 6.5 inch wrist is too small for it so I settled for the instinct 2 solar. I love that I no longer have a battery anxiety as opposed to when I was still using an apple watch 😆
Hi there, thanks for the review. Can one display the time digitally on the watch face at same time with the analog clock. Are he watch straps the same. It is only coming to south Africa now.
Does anyone have issues using UltraTrac on Inctinct 2. Mine is adding distance by 50% all the time. In GPS mode is accurate, i hand no problem with FR245 using UltraTrac.
They do put a huge mark up on their products at launch. And I say this as someone who LOVES the entire Instinct product line, it feels like they make them for me lol, except for the price. I just got the Instinct 2 solar for 261USD, less than a year after launch. I bet this can go down to 300USD by 2024. For this amount of money I would get an MRG G Shock, and use another fitness tracker when working out. But this device offers something no other device on the market does! Maybe if I was rich I would just have them both haha
Hi guys, How accurate is the step tracker in general and compared to other step trackers like other Garmin watches, Apple Watch, Fitbit and especially Casio G shock GBD H 2000 because I’m thinking about buying either a Garmin instinct or g shock GBD H 2000. any Tipps or suggestions are much appreciated. thank you very much
hi i have one question is it true while i use Weather on watch i must need have activated bluetooth on phone and be on reach on them? thanks for answers Thumbs UP By the way
It has "tactical" functions, like parachute jumping, ballistic calculations, night vision goggle setting, disconnected mode (no wireless), an emergency wipe function etc. It's mostly for military personnel.
@@thatdudedez6751 it actually stopped working. I purchased it on June 21st 2021 from Amazon. Garmin responded to me today letting me know to mail it to them and although its outside of the year warranty they will replace it.
Just from this review, you seem to miss the point of this watch's fitness tracking capabilities. You mostly refer to it as a smartwatch (with some sports settings). Granted the price has come down since this review, but I think you should emphasize that it’s more than just a smartwatch. I’m mostly looking at it because of the HR & other fitness metrics it tracks. Plus, it does look much better than a plain plastic watch!
@@MarksTech sorry another question? Do they have sapphire crystal glass screens and automatic time controlled radio signals or satellite controlled time?
Both watches will be fantastic. I have the Fenix 7X Pro. I love it! The worldwide built in maps are fantastic. The added flash light is awesome too! You can't go wrong with either device, the Fenix just has the advantage with the maps.
I like the size, comfort, weight, and aesthetics of the Crossover compared to the Tactix 7. The Tactix has a color screen, MP3, flashlight, touchscreen, and topo maps. If you don’t need those, the crossover looks classy and rugged while being less than half the price. It looks formal/masculine in dress attire. I’ve tried the Tactix 7 and it presses up against the back of my hand while working out (e.g. push-ups, benchpress, etc). Also, it has some weight to it while running and moves around due to the weight. Both watches are great. I upgraded recently from the Instinct 2 solar… it looked kind of cheap/plasticy compared to the crossover…
@@vc8160 I know, I'm so poor I just spent £650 on a 1940s Tudor oyster. That thing there will be in cash converters for £75 in about a year 😆 The digital display looks like a second rate smartwatch off AliExpress.

When is the long-time review coming?
outstanding review sir. Objective , technical and very well exposed . thank you
Thanks for watching!:)
How is scratching situation after using a whle?
I prefer Garmin Watches. Battery life is fantastic and it gives me me enough smart watch features.
Me too
I like the instinct 2 solar more. No physical hands to obscure any of the digital data at a glance
I switched over to the instinct 2X. I love it!
@@MarksTech that’s the one I would have gone for but my 6.5 inch wrist is too small for it so I settled for the instinct 2 solar. I love that I no longer have a battery anxiety as opposed to when I was still using an apple watch 😆
By the way is that a Black or Graphite sinve the solar dont come in black on the canadian site ? And do you recommend the solar , or not ?
8 months later, the retail price is 100 USD cheaper…. Solar version is 450$, tactical is 500 USD. And Amazon is list it as frequently returned item.
You’ll soon find out that the hands do more than just get out of the way.🙂
Yeah, they also tell time

Which version is the Crossover in your review? Graphite? I apologize if you answered previously.
Be cool if they do it for Descent and with a dive bezel
I think paying more than 300dollars for this is pointless
Why is that?
That’s like saying paying over $1000 for a Fenix is pointless.

Yes, all instinct watches use the wheather data from your phone. But you can add a barometric alarm for wheater changes
Still sporting it? I am considering getting the Crossover. Have the 2s now but find it difficult to read sometimes....
I still have it! I use the crossover and the instinct 2X. The 2X is a perfect size. It’s big, and even has a flashlight like the fenix 7x
Would love this smaller and with an amoled screen
is this the tactical version?
Whats your wrist size?
what makes the "tactical" version tactical? excellent review.
It has "tactical" functions, like parachute jumping, ballistic calculations, night vision goggle setting, disconnected mode (no wireless), an emergency wipe function etc. It's mostly for military personnel.
My Garmin instinct died after two years of use. Do I buy this or the withings Scanwatch Horizon?
Better not buy the scanwatch, very inaccurate, no build in gps as wel
@@JohanNijdam what do you mean inaccurate?
when you say died you mean you had to recharge or it actually stopped working?

@jakenasz3428 always buy from target or best buy
What is the size of your wrist?
how long do the hands glow in the dark?
No comparison next to a dive watch, but impressive long still.
HOW FEELINGS AFET USED OF THAT WATCH 2 MONTHS?
I love it!:) Use it everyday. Works like a champ
@@MarksTech WILL YOU DO SUMMERISE ON YOU TUBE?

Every so slightly, yes
Nice question well done

with the instinct 2 solar, yes. with the crossover, it'll just prolong the battery life to 70 days
@@MarksTech sorry another question? Do they have sapphire crystal glass screens and automatic time controlled radio signals or satellite controlled time?
Not sapphire, it’s hardened glass.
Time is controlled via satellite :)

What's the name of that 3rd party face on the Instinct 2?
Garmin IQ
@@justindemersrousseau6354 I asked for the face not the app but thank you. Anyway, if anyone is interested, to me, it looks like the "Instinct Pro"
I just don't understand why they make some of these watches with plastic. I'm spending almost $500 on a plastic watch?😅
One reason is because of all the radios and sensors packed in the watches. A more premium material like metal could interfere with those things.
Its better to spend another 400$ and go for epix pro, the most feature rich and stick with it.
I’m trying to decide between this and a Tactix 7. Thoughts?
Price is a big factor
