I used to live there in Tempe, and rode that tram from home to work each day.. Phoenix has, by far, the widest thoroughfares as well as a *lot* of them.
If you want to ride forever on smooth roads with plenty of room and access to resources, the metro area is massive and you can always see where you are going because the buildings are all very low.
also do not swim in the canals unless you've had your shots.
When you fly into Phoenix it looks like endless suburbia from the air, but it is a surprisingly bike-friendly place to ride. Not as good as Tucson, obviously, but pretty good.
You guys are getting very close now. Going to be done by Christmas?

What a nice day! I hope you guys are currently enjoying your rest day to the max. Justin's always smiling on this trip (well, maybe not crickets) but his "next-level" smile is really uplifting. Great way to start a day for us desk-bound mortals. Not just stuff not going wrong, but you guys seem to be having a great time every time a local joins you. You're getting back into high enough density places that I bet you could ride with a (near) local every day from here to the end.

A lot of empty roads except for traffic ahead till SoCal. Rest up and plan when to stop and get supplies ready.

Does anyone else say the phrase "...exclamation mark" out loud with Francis, every single time, or is it just me?
Phoenix drivers are not necessarily the best for cyclists, but the roads are straight, flat, wide, and almost always have cycle lanes (perks of most of the roads being built so recently). Add in the canals and cycling there is quite nice.

I also ate at Daily Jam in Tempe recently, when I was there for Ironman Arizona last month. Tempe is a nice area, great place for a first time Ironman (wink wink).

Does anyone know- We haven't seen Daisy since the proposal; it occurred to me while watching today's video that Francis will be in the US with Justin on Christmas, and I wondered out loud to an empty room if something's happened with them?
