Greetings from Akron, Ohio (the former headquarters city of the PBA and the longtime home of the Firestone Tournament of Champions). I enjoy this series. I do have a suggestion for you if it is possible. Since you generally try to get the pair closest to the wall, it may be nice to have a camera on a tripod along that walkway (in order to shoot the bowlers as they make their shots). Most likely that camera would have to be done without a camera operator, but if the house allows you to use that aisleway to put a camera that would give you some new angles for the "Coaches Corner" segments.
Derrick M. King - It’s been in the plans. We have a GoFundMe page GoFundMe.com/prodigy-bowlers-tour. Already bought a video camera with the funds raised (although not the same one proposed in the campaign - ended up getting a better one). The campaign called for trying to raise enough for a second camera for just this purpose. Haven’t raised enough to pay for it...yet.
Great matches today! These were hard conditions for this pattern...since the topography adds to about 3 board difference InThe two lanes..great learning opportunity. I was really impressed with the final two bowlers especially..Josh...Wow!! He's going places!! Matthew, only Twelve! He's taller and stronger than me and I'm in my middle 50s ! I'm impressed with Matthew too! Congratulations Matthew! Josh you'll be back!! Merry Christmas guys and gals!!
Do you think... maybe.. for the next episode you could add like.. what ball they are using or their speed? I love this show and I always want to know those things as I am watching! Again... great content ;) Keep up the good work Coach Randy!!
Ethan Driver - I get this request (the balls) almost every week. I’ll be honest, the only thing keeping us from doing it is me figuring out a way to manage it. I need the kids to all fill out a form listing all the balls they’re throwing. Then update it every week or whenever they buy a new one (and some if the seem to get a new one every week or two....must be nice). Only problem is, then I’d have to familiarize myself with all the balls (both current and older) that all the ball manufacturers make (and made) so I can recognize them while I’m editing the show. It’s a much bigger task than it probably seems on the surface.
I just spotted a scoring error. It's a glitch in the video editing software. Didn't affect the actual scoring in the game. But when Mark converts the 3-6 spare in the 8th frame, it shows 8 on his first ball. But then when the spare goes up, the 8 changes to a 9. Like I said, this is an annoying little glitch in the software, and I have to be on the lookout for such switch-a-roos. I missed that one. But he wasn't working on a spare in the frame, so it didnt' affect the overall score. Just annoying.
I love this pattern, i try and bowl on it as much as i can and last week bowled a 759 on it. I just take my blue hammer with a label drill, and throw it from 5-8
Coach Randy.....you're right in your prediction about Josh D. Yesterday I was watching him on a PBT show taped soon after he started his collegiate career. He has ABSOLUTELY the most gorgeous follow thru I have ever seen! I used to think that 2-handed bowling was a big joke - my transition is now complete. His cool, quiet demeanor makes me appreciate him even more. Stay the course, young man!
Noah vids - Sadly, they’ve dragged their heels. I was ready to go months ago. But there’s some other stuff going on behind the scenes that could be even bigger.
Logan has to learn to read his execution rather than just believing that he needs to switch balls in the middle of the game. When he made an errant shot in game two on the left lane, missing the headpin left, he mistakenly changed balls and completely lost that lane which he had owned up until then.
Although I won't opine specifically about Logan's ball change in that game or his errant shot and its potential impact on his decision making (I don't know what he was thinking, and unless you're a mind-reader, neither do you). But I will say this: I do believe a lot of young players (and even some adult players) nowadays do tend to go to the bag for another ball too soon rather than adjusting their feet, their target or their hand position/release or even their speed. I firmly believe that the ball change should be the last resort when all else fails and/or you just don't have any other shots (in terms of hand position, etc.) to try. That's not to say it's important to have a ball that correctly matches up to the lane conditions. Matching up *is* important, no question. But an errant shot like the one Logan threw is not indicative of a sudden change in lane conditions. It's just an errant shot. Never, EVER adjust off a bad shot. If, however, he threw it just like he wanted to and the ball over-reacted like that (which is not what happened there), maybe then the ball change should be the next move. But generally, there are better ways to adjust.
Dude, I just posted this a half hour ago. It’s a software glitch that I have to be on the lookout for. I missed this one. The software actually changed the 8 to a 9 when the spare went up. Didn’t affect the score, though.
Tiger Britanico - Meh. Not everybody has a nice big screen to watch on. Zooming in makes it easier to see the action. I actually don’t zoom in on every shot. And on some, I zoom in somewhat less.
JP Aguirre47 kind of. He gets motiv balls from Mathews dad, (who is on staff with motiv). He gave me 6 balls last Saturday which I could not be more thankful for!
AussiePillow1 - Sponsored? Uh, no. Let’s just say that a Motiv evangelist is a friend of the show and he has gotten a few of the kids to try their equipment, and they’ve liked it.
BrownswickBowling usually kids now look way younger than they are, especially in highschool, but this kid is the opposite. He could probably go to highschool and no one would question him
WOW great bowling as usual. The lane difference to really show up til that last game. talk about a GRIND!!!! THANKS COACH RANDY AWESOME JOB!!!
I actually get pretty hyped every time I see a new vid from you guys! Keep up the great content!

Dominique Cunningham - Lamar didn’t return. We might see Langston again. He’s shown some improvement.
How is the satellite tour and the thing with psb
Noah vids - Sadly, they’ve dragged their heels. I was ready to go months ago. But there’s some other stuff going on behind the scenes that could be even bigger.
Wow, I haveh seen brandon in a while
So no one will say anything about him sniffing that marker? lol!
Me and my friend play a game and it were if u mark u keep going and if u open u are out. And u keep going and alternate lanes.
The “hair flip” by 60%

wayne chester agreed. It's not good to keep switching balls frequently, unless lanes start breaking down or something.

Amen. 90% of success or failure happens before the ball leaves your hand. Ball choice is worth about 10%, if that much.
exactly jonathan
You guys messed up in the 8th frame for Marc and Logan, Marc got a 8 and spare not 9 and spare

Am alone with our
Get to see what happens hello play ball
Mattews form reminds me of EJ Tackett
I think so too! Sort of like Tackett and Bob Vespi combined.
Is Logan throwing the motiv paranoia?
Heriberto Blanco yes sir! He also threw a tank rampage. I have both of them and love them. Team Motiv
Cool
Strike and spare bowling alley
Anybody else see a black screen
A little suggestion for Logan, slower down when bowling cause he's missing his target sometimes.
Would it be alright if you did not zoom in every shot
Tiger Britanico - Meh. Not everybody has a nice big screen to watch on. Zooming in makes it easier to see the action. I actually don’t zoom in on every shot. And on some, I zoom in somewhat less.
That kid is twelve and looks older than me lol
Bill Polinski what kid?
white fluffy stuff LOL
Is Logan sponsored??
JP Aguirre47 kind of. He gets motiv balls from Mathews dad, (who is on staff with motiv). He gave me 6 balls last Saturday which I could not be more thankful for!
PBA All Star Thank you!!
Is prodigy bowlers your sponsored by Motiv? Almost everyone is throwing a Motiv ball.
AussiePillow1 - Sponsored? Uh, no. Let’s just say that a Motiv evangelist is a friend of the show and he has gotten a few of the kids to try their equipment, and they’ve liked it.
No way Matthew is 12. He has to be atleast 14 or 15.
Nathan Pickering - Nope. This is the first season he’s competed in the U15 age group. He was U12 last year. Scary, huh?
BrownswickBowling usually kids now look way younger than they are, especially in highschool, but this kid is the opposite. He could probably go to highschool and no one would question him
