The whole assembly looks very well engineered, credit to Motone. However, those two unprotected wires fitted to the rear of the plate illuminator do seem a little vulnerable to everything that the tyre can throw at them.
Great to see the mighty Bobber again! That’s a really nice looking accessory. I found that with the side mount, I catch the plate on my leg when manoeuvring the bike around the garage. This looks a much better option.
You know I don't want to sound negative, but riding a motorcycle can be challenging. I'm paying my outrageous taxes and dodging Pot Holes like they're going out of style! Goodbye for now my friend.
Oh dear, Stuart… When these odd 'behind the wheel on a bracket' number plate mounts are fitted as OE, it's usually because regulations somewhere or other demand it, after some clever stylist has given the bike a short arse end. They look pig ugly as a stock fitment, and many owners find another solution immediately (usually on a side mount, or mounted on the end of the mudguard). This gantry arrangement is so wrong on two counts… 1) It's uglier than a very pig ugly thing tacked onto the back of an attractive looking bike. 2) It increases the unsprung weight by the weight of a bloody great lump of steel tubing and other stuff. I'm sure it's beautifully made, but that's where the 'beauty' part ends. It's ugly… No… I'll go further: it's an abomination. If you want an ugly bike, buy a KTM (while you still can 🤣), or any other one of a number of similarly ugly machines available. The industry does seem to be competing to produce the ugliest bike at present. Just my three-pennorth. Each to their own, I guess.
Number plate Stuart not Licence plate. 😉
Great tutorial on how to fit this up ,
much appreciated .
The more I look at it the more I like it👍👍
Looks great, but shouldn't there be a reflector also?

Good morning Stu. I much prefer the look of this new license plate holder over the previous one. This new one looks much tidier.
Installed the same on my Bobber. Looks awesome!
I chose to rout the light to one of the corners of the plate itself though, found it a little cleaner
High quality licence plate Stu.
All da very best to see all the bikes in your garage getting aired.
Weather must be okay.
Enjoy your website.
we had a brief interlude in the weather on wednesday now back to normal. RAIN!
Brilliant video as always Stuart and that number plate holder is a fantastic addition to the bobber 😃👍🏻
Tudor Black Bay 58. A great choice Stu. There's something about that snowflake hour hand that I find so appealing...
Informative as ever Stewart, nicely done and your bike is looking good.

Vote in the right people then. They work for you not the other way around!!
Looks good on the “bobber!”
Excellent explanation as always Stuart. 👍
Nice looking piece of kit, but why is the light not dead central to the plate and hanger?
Fantastic
Nothing to do with the subject in hand but did I see you in Littlehampton last Wednesday. If not you then you have a double !
😀👍
Thread lock on bolts and nylock locking nuts just to be on the safe side,......abit of insurance against the dreaded Pot holes Stuart.
I am a weight junkie so could never add a few kilograms to any bike I owned. Each to their own.
this bikes had almost 20kg stripped from it. a cup of coffee and a pie will add more weight to your ride than this part does.
Not for me - looks like an after thought ....... like 'how shall I fit this number plate?'
not for me
