  • Making some upgrades to the 7000 planter this year. I am installing a set of Yetter Poly Twister closing wheels. I am going to be planting some no-till corn this year in some sod ground, so I wanted to make the change from the smooth closing wheels to something a little more aggressive. Hope it pays off, Yetter is not cheap!!

You are welcome. I am learning about the 7000 as I go. I figured if it was information I needed, then others would too. Thanks for watching!!

I really like your videos. Your a down to earth small farmer. There’s just not many like you left.

I just do things the way I know how. And thanks, that means a lot!! Small farms are all but a thing of the past it seems. Thanks for watching!!

I know farmers do it all the time, but it worries me. But I'm going to give it a shot and see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by!!

I hope it works. Everything I have seen on it looks really good. I have never had a problem with it, but I haven't done no-till before ether. Thanks for watching!!

i have a 7100 jd planter and i am thinking about doing the same thing . plus i was going to go with the yetter openers. Look forward to seeing if it makes a difference. I always liked the older stuff. it works. simple is better

I agree! Simple is better. I hope it works out. May not have been necessary, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. The old planter has done a great job for me. Haven't done any no-till with it yet, but I think it will get the job done. Thanks for watching!!

In the kit they sent, was one of the bolts' reverse thread, so it would not come loose? McMaster-Carr sales them. They have all kind of specialty items and I have been using them for several years. It might be something to look into if you have trouble with keeping them tight. Looks great.

All the bolts that came in the kit were right hand thread. I don't know if something is different with my planter or what, but they were just too short. To be honest, I was expecting something a little better than a cut off bolt! Lol Thanks for stopping by!!

I am doing same thing how long are bolts you used?

The ones that came with the kit are too short. So don't buy the kit. I think I used 4 in and cut the head off. Maybe 3 1/2 , but 4inch will work. Thanks!!
