Hi nick thanks for posting. I picked up a load of records from the bootsale last Sunday £1 each and I’ve only just finished cleaning them most weren’t great.. we don’t always get it right but the seller certainly knew what he was doing .. cheers nick 👍
Maby there are some decca sxl classical records? most often people will skip those but they are worth a pretty penny (you should check those around 5:45)
I think you flicked past a Brooke Benton record. His hits he had with Dinah Washington were great. He had a great voice. Also that Barbra Streisand , "Classical" has some great songs , sung beautifully in a different style to her show and pop tunes. Perry Como was great too. It's an older person's collection, that ran out of steam 50 years ago.
we have all done it, last year i did the some on facebook market place and bought 300 plus for £50 of which 95% was junk but like you mange to salvage a few to get my money back, but for some reason still have them all lol, some you win some you lose, but i must go through the classical at some point just in case, cheers nick
Yeah,i bought records from this lady who wanted me to meet her at like 9pm on a Friday nite...i soon learned why at night...i couldn't see the conditions of the albums .Like a jerk i bought them ,because the covers were of good rock groups but the vinyl was scratched and damaged on a,number of albums....live and learn.
You were unlucky, but we all get burned sometimes with vinyl. I've bought records in questionable condition from record fairs in poor light, unable to check..then you get back to your car and that shock when you reexamine them!!. I guess there are shysters and chancers everywhere..one things for sure, you won't get stung like thst again.

Yes- the classical Market is worth exploring. Some hidden gems there.

Gosh your idea of charity shop bingo is different from mine! I am 75 and would be happy to spend $60 on some of those!
Just goes to show. One man's treasure etc... most went to local tip shop.
I also have that "Hey Boy, Hey girl!" Album. It isn't bad it's a fairly good "Broadway" type album!
