i dont doubt that there will be a season 2, but the youtube short of duck's voice actor was a joke. he talks about finding a pirate king in the video, which is a running gag becky and joe have used for a long time. when asked about what the plot of the original webseries was, they said it was about "three best friends who go on an adventure to find a magic pirate ship". i think they said this before the series was finished, but either way it was just something they said to mess with people lmao

Also since we just have the date of when the video was uploaded and not when it was filmed, it could've been a line from the pilot. Especially since Duck's voice was 99 percent auto tune in the pilot and the part where he said "Me" for an extended period of time it's probably a line that would've been used if they went with the pilot route.

I love this theory! However there seems to be a problem. In episode 6 when yellow guy walks up the stairs you can hear a kinda muted out conversation between duck and red guy where red guy mentions “A blob thing…” and duck states “Oh the one who turned into me, yes.” So the three guys seem to remember the past episodes, even if they do get replaced.

    • @---oq5kb
      @---oq5kb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +298

In the same episode they see the teachers they met before (both in the youtube series as well as in season 1) and they seem to not recognize them. Their memories could be episode dependant where they only remember what they are allowed to remember during the episode.

I’m really bad at wording things forgive me but In episode 6’s intro the house starts up and circles as Lesley turns her handle, just like you would to start up a music box. With her doll house, she can manipulate the state of each room and what exactly is in it proven when pulling on the light string in her house doesn’t bring the light back, she says “oh, I have to fix that” (If only duck never messed around with electracy). These two scenes strongly imply that each day is started by her setting up the doll house and turning the handle to start the show.

My thought for the three items in the windows might be what are needed by each to escape. The yellow guy needs his batteries to be smart, red guy needs a shovel to either... dig something up (maybe duck again?) Or dig his way out of something? Could be symbolic of just making the other two escape with him like in the transport episode. In that sense, the batteries could also represent yellow guy helping the other two become smarter / understand what's happening. Finally duck's could be that having Chuddy Dollops are needed in some obscure way to break out(maybe Leslie is allergic to them, they look kind of like peanuts), or it represents duck becoming more willing to share / less self centered. That's my theory anyway!

along with the "yellow guy is childhood, red guy is adulthood, green duck is elderly" take, maybe the children need to utilize technology for understanding, the middle aged should acknowledge the past/elderly/history and the elderly need to share/open up
also noting that the chuddle dollops has the red guy symbol, the shovel "belongs" to duck and the batteries are red themed, so maybe it just means that they all need each other, i dunno.

    Just thinking out loud
When it comes to Duck''s Name
Rotate it clockwise 90° and it kinda looks like a duck. The dot being the eye, the curve being the head, and the stick being the beak
Similarly, rotate Red's symbol 90°, you see his iconic floating eyes above his head, 2 arms, 2 legs, and PERHAPS the strands of hair off his arm and leg, but not entirely sure on that one.
As for the symbol next to Duck's name, after being rotated, it kinda looks like a gate to me, the imagery makes me think of the locked Clayhill gate in Wakey Wakey, though it looked nought like this.

I'm pretty sure the leaked audio recording session was the creators being cheeky. In the behind the scenes featurette for the original youtube series, Becky and Joe say the show is about 3 best friends (red, yellow, and duck) going on an adventure to find a magic pirate ship and save the day(even though it clearly wasn't). And that sounds very similar to the dialog being recorded in the leaked recording session. It probably was them who leaked it, and the pirate dialogue is a cheeky joke to hide what the show would really be about and a fun call back.

    • @pietrayday9915
      @pietrayday9915 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That was one of my first thoughts too, about the shovel's connection to Red Guy being that he seemed weirdly certain he was the dead one of the three. Which seems like it might be significant,as he seems to have been the first character to die(? or at least disappear) in the web series, just before Duck got eaten in the food episode. Not that death seems to matter much to these characters - LE5L3Y seems to have plenty of spares! If the Table Lamp's weird monologue in the Death episode is to be taken seriously, it seems that these characters are all already dead, and being forced to relive their lives for the amusement of a "new race of super-beings known as The Council", and get 'a pound" every time they "get it right"... whatever any of that means!

  • @danielt.miranda2107

I think Red guy’s object is the shovel because each of their objects complete or achieve whatever the characters want, for example in the Family episode when there’s 2 puffs instead of 3, Duck Guy says he WANTS both. In the Death episode all that Red Guy WANTS is to be dead. In the Electricity episode, while Yellow Guy didn’t really ever say he wanted to have his batteries out in, it did make him COMPLETE.

My thoughts are it's about Leslie's fantasy world after a horrific accident.
Peter and Leslie were married and had a son called David. Peter had a workplace accident that either maimed him or killed him. He was loyal to his workplace for decades yet they didn't seem to care. Later on in the timeline there was a horrific car crash that killed David and maimed Leslie leaving her alone. To cope with her past she has made her own fantasy world with her Brain Friends, the main characters.
She has made a doll house where she enacts stories to try and cope with her loss. The last episode shows that she is totally lost in her fantasy with no way out.

It feels like a bit of a stretch to assume that because the symbol you claim to be yellow guy's name is his name because it appears in the same row in the book's title. It feels a lot more likely that the symbol that directly shows up (that being the weird 'circle with a dot with legs') is his name.
Also I feel like we ought to consider the fact that all the 'names' somewhat look like the character's appearances except for the one you propose for Yellow Guy's (If you turn the duck guy's one sideways it looks like a duck, and red guy's has two dots and a series of 'stands' off-shooting from a central circle). While the other symbol doesn't resemble the yellow guy a lot, if you turn it upside down it kind of looks like him with his eyes closed, so it's a bit closer imho.
You can also see other 'symbols' that resemble some of the teachers potentially. You can literally see a briefcase in one of the symbols
I also think it makes more sense that the shovel is supposed to represent the duck guy since literally everythign else on that side of the cover represents him, and everything on the other side represents the yellow guy. He was the one who was literally 'buried in the ground'

I honestly thought the same thing.
If red guy's symbol looks like him and duck's looks like him then it'd make better sense for yellow guy's symbol to likewise follow that same pattern.
The one that is said in this video to be his trait would certainly follow that pattern if you view the circle as his head with the dot for his nose and the M for the straps on his dungarees.
Tied with the fact it's that symbol we see on the diagnosis sheet, not the other more complicated looking symbol.
I'd be more inclined to believe it's actually the simpler symbol that represents the yellow guy, not the bigger one.

Episode 5 seems to take place after episode 6 due to yellow guy remembering the stuff above them (ignoring the idea that he's gotten close to figuring it out several times before). Episode 3 also seems to be after 6 because of duck guy's name. Episode 2 seems to be after all the other episodes as duck guy's outro song references all the other episodes. also, its interesting that he puts the choo choo man before the friendly fellow, while all the other ones are listed in order.

I like the idea that the symbols represent the names. However, I do find an issue with yellow guy's name. In the same episode (Episode 4) on an earlier print, the same symbol was shown when the computer prints information about eagles to question the Identity of Warren the eagle. I was thinking that this symbol rather stands for information or knowledge, since it is seen on books and prints from the Internet. This would fit with your suggestion that these symbols show a trait of the characters since information/knowledge is the theme for yellow in the new season.

I honestly think the things in the trios respective windows (the batteries, shovel, dollops) are sort of core pieces of the character, or even their fatal flaws? Like, in the Death episode, Red Guy was shown to be in heavy denial, which he seems to use as a defence system quite often. (e.g. in the transport episode, when the car is running out of fuel he tries to say it was always like that.)
And with the chuddle dollops with the Duck, in that episode when the duck gets kicked out of the family home, it's shown he thinks of himself as his 'family', and he only has himself to rely on, and it might even be implied that he lost his own family. But this has made himself very self centred as a result.
And finally the most obvious one, the Yellow Guy and the batteries. It is said that while the yellow guy has the expired batteries, it 'hurts to think', and his lack of thinking is usually what gets him mocked and belittled so much. And at the end of the final episode, it is even shown that these faulty batteries make him lose most of his memory, given he shreds the book.
idk that was my thoughts, given this seems to be a cycle where the trio are doomed to repeat their same mistakes over and over again i thought the fatal flaw thing seemed fitting. Sorry if this is a bit incoherent it is 3 am where i am currently.

Maybe not so much "fatal flaws", so much as the roles they are supposed to play - I think that the weird monologue by the Table Lamp in the "Death" episode wasn't just being played for laughs or random weirdness - the speech where the Table Lamp gives a couple ordinary theories about what happens when we die - ascending to paradise or a sort of fetishistic reincarnation as a favorite object - before suggesting that when we die, we descend to the core of the earth, or near the core, and relive our lives over and over for the amusement of a "new super-race known as The Council", where we are given a "pound" every time we "get it right".
The Table Lamp then immediately says "good night' and shuts itself off, without the usual song-and-dance routine that the other objects give. Someone else in the comments suggests the idea that the book that LE5L3Y gives Yellow Guy is a script, which seems to be an interesting theory that dovetails with what the Table Lamp suggests about the afterlife.
And, perhaps interestingly, the "center of the earth" thing does seem to mirror the layout of LE5L3Y's model house, with the stairs leading up from a ground floor to the higher levels where L35L3Y seems to provide the stages and scripts for the characters' little performances, setting the formula for the way their lives will work: going around and around in circles, making their appointments and always ending up where they started....
Also, curiously, at the end of the "Jobs" episode, the Briefcase tosses a coin at Duck, hitting him in the eye, saying he earned it - that certainly seems like a Duck-oriented episode, with Duck questioning just before getting his "pound", "what was [this story] - what was it all for?" We might conclude that Duck got SOMETHING right in that performance of his life, but it couldn't have been much - notably, he only got paid at the end of the story, after he realizes just how futile and senseless it was for him to try to "do something", filling his life with a bizarre, hollow failure of a career, bringing Duck the "million things" he wanted to do or have, but none of them having any real meaning or significance or sense in the end.
Perhaps it's a bit of a stretch, but Duck describes himself in a later intro song as a "talking crow-like thing", which is interesting considering the way that the god Odin is connected to crows as psychopomps - creatures capable of bringing wisdom from beyond the grave - with one of Odin's notable characteristics being that the price he paid for wisdom was to be hung upside-down and blinded in one eye, reminiscent of the way that Duck seems to have been blinded to pay the price of the wisdom gained from his strange dream-journey through the "Jobs" episode. Duck alone seems to have come back from that experience with any understanding of what happened and what was really lost by all three characters - Yellow Guy could remember only losing his family, Red Guy could only remember losing his authority and luxury, but Duck knew that they lost lifetimes to senseless distractions from understanding reality. He certainly seems to have earned something the other characters didn't!
Anyway, those are just some random thoughts... who knows whether the show's creators were really thinking along those strange tangents, and if so, where they are going with the series as a whole!
I think, though, that if that is close to what the show's creators have in mind, we might see some hints in future series/seasons of the show that there are real lessons for the characters to learn, but absolutely not the ones that the little animated characters they interact with are supposedly trying to teach them to fill their lives with meaningless nonsense and distractions, but deeper lessons that require them to ignore their "teachers" and see their scripts for what they really are. We might also catch more glimpses of that mysterious, unsettling "race of super-beings known as The Council" mentioned by the Table Lamp: presumably, LE5L3Y is a representative of some sort for them, or a go-between, and perhaps Roy is, too, and we do seem to catch other disturbing glimpses of them throughout the series, such as the eye peeking through a hole in the wall during the intro song (blink and you miss it, just after "Look closely and you will see! There's three of us...")

The only thing i can think for red guy being represented by a shovel is that the episode with the shovel is actually very red guy focused.
In the episode duck died he was mostly hanging out in a coffin realizing death is kind of boring. Yellow guy develops crippling grief and calls for a return to normalcy.
Red guy on the other hand tries to keep the group going, tries to replace the duck with a new friend, and winds up molding said friend into duck. Theres something to this.

each symbol has some sort of resemblance to the teachers. "duck's name" looks like a train, the one on the top-left of the book looks like the suitcase man, the one on the middle-right of the book is like two number "two"s (which represents the twins), the other ones are a bit abstract but i think bottom-left is warren the eagle, bottom-right is the robot, and top-right is the coffin

  • @Datboi_385
    @Datboi_385 2 ปีที่แล้ว +67

In my opinion, i think the three symbols represent the teachers, rather than the main 3. The yellow guy symbol looks a lot like the briefcase from episode 1 with a weird arrow pointing downward. The duck symbol looks like the worm from episode 4 (because they’re wearing a cap with a stamp on it just like the worm) except sideways for some reason. And the red guy symbol might reference either a family tree because of all the branches OR it could be wires, referencing the electricity teacher.
This is just the way i see it though. I’m looking forward to seeing your next few videos on the show!

The symbol you use as Yellow Guy's name at 7:49 is _not at all_ the same symbol you find at 6:41 and 7:17. The first is a briefcase connecting to a triangle. The second is a W connecting to an eye-like symbol.

Another reason why those symbols might be representative of those characters specifically is that the blackboard only had red guy's and duck's name because they didn't have a yellow guy in their room. I also have been thinking about the order of the episodes, I think they might not be in the order that they are presented to us. If they are, I think that at least death is probably moved further forward than episode 2.

My theory is that he went down between the core and crust of the Earth where the super race called the council is, which could possibly be comprised of his other selves.
The red guy and duck characters "expecting" Yellow Guy to be there could be because they have their own versions of yellow guy and don't know the difference OR they somehow know he eventually makes his way to their rooms because he has done it before. I think you're right about 3 of the symbols representing the main characters, but I think the others may represent various elements of season 1 - specifically, the top left is for episodes 1 & 2, the middle right is 3 & 4, and the bottom left is 5 & 6. The top left bares a striking resemblance to a briefcase with eyes, much like the teacher in Jobs. The curvy line ending at a triangle below it may be the shovel from Death. The middle right looks like a number 2 mirrored and rotated sideways, which may represent the twins in Family, while the lines going through them is reminiscent of the skewering of the worm in Friendship. The bottom left could be interpreted as a lightning bolt for Electracy, or (sideways) as the landscape seen from the car in Transport.
...but I also never thought about the symbols before watching this video, so I may be off base!

Red Guy wanted nothing more than to escape the house through any means possible. The shovel represents death - look how much Red Guy wanted to be the one dead in the second episode. But it also can represent resurrection - Yellow Guy basically resurrected duck using it. I think the shovel represents the endless cycle of death and resurrection. They are all trapped in it, of course, but the Red Guy seems to be the most affected by it. That's why the shovel is his insignia.

  • @dybcreations
    @dybcreations 2 ปีที่แล้ว +38

I think the evidence of the symbols floating around the house points to Yellow guy having had an “enlightenment” before. The proof is that he already wrote the book that the lady gave back to him.
So the first question is what happened the first time that made Yellow guy “dumbify” himself? I think it’s an easy inference that the last time he was “enlightened”, he made these symbols and left clues for himself and wrote a book for himself to remember, then something happened and he gave the book to the lady for safe keeping until the time came. (It would seem like she wasn’t as trustworthy as he thought, though)
-> could the answer be super meta and refer to the scrapped first season that took place in Clayhill? 😮
I think it probably does make sense that they are first name, last names. Red guy probably is referred to by his surname by people. (Maybe his name is “Roy Red Guy” so they can’t call him Roy…) I guess the way to confirm it would be if we ever see Roy’s symbols in the future.
I don’t think we are dealing with alternate versions of all the characters. I mean, it’s true that the lady has plenty of replacements, but at least one of the three would have to be the only one. My guess is Yellow Guy, since the first series seemed to focus on him being the focus of the show.
I guess the second question I have is What’s Roy’s place in all this? If he was the show runner in the first series, was he trapped in this series somehow? He makes physical appearances but he doesn’t seem to be part of the show.
It’s almost like in universe, Roy’s show was bought out and they went in a new direction with the lady but he was screwed in the deal and also trapped in the show itself. OR in a twist, Roy regrets selling the show and went inside himself to protect his son! Take the Yum Yum scene for instance!
Loved your vid. Looking forward to a part 2!

I think what we see in DHMIS episode 1 one of the web series, retroactively, when things start glitching and the characters start having fits is Roy turning on the machine and wrestling control from Lesley. After all, the notepad is the only teacher that the machine can't create. When the machine is turned off - it resets, so they're still trapped in some way, but Roy's control is gone. Not sure when their colours got returned though.

    • @Asteryx0
      @Asteryx0 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I agree with the fact that red guy regrets selling the show and I think that Leslie is taking control of the show which is why duck is being replaced and red guy breaks character more often and is so desperate to escape. Roy feels that his son has been punished enough, comes to counteract Leslie and save his son from Leslie's show.

The colours of the windows don't represent the character colours and their items, the colour represents what the items themselves. Green for envy for the Chuddle Dollops to express the jealousy about wanting a family in the episode, the red window represents death because the shovel was used to murder the copied Duck (the shovel has blood on the tip and a puddle of blood under it) and the yellow window represents power/energy because the batteries are electricity. The batteries also represent knowledge as power in the episode becauseafter Yellow Guy has his batteries replaced, hes immediately smart. As far as the writings on the book, they strongly resemble magic sigils. Maybe that implies that there's magic involved in the characters existence.

Maybe, everytime she breaks one and gets replaced, they lost a bit of their memory.
I can't exactly explain it, it's just like if you break something, it can be fixed or replaced, but it will never be as it was bf again.

Here is my conjecture as to the significance of the three items within the windows.
Hark back to the moment of the last episode. Ask yourselves “Why would Leslie give the book to Yellow Guy?”. The reason is she knew she’d win in the end, through what? Having Duck remove the batteries that could’ve given him, she knew it would happen. We can tell due to the paintings prior to the scene of depictions of yellow guy looking at himself.
What I want to bring to the discussion is that the three items serve as a kind of “Trophy Case”, the clipped wings of prized butterflies hung on her wall. I believe these items have significance of being the key items required for them to be so close to figuring out the mystery, to being enlightened, but ultimately they are taken away. These items are kept under watch in case they fall out of line.
I believe later on, the Shovel and Chuddle Dollops will play an even bigger role in them uncovering the secrets of their prison that will ultimately be taken from them, and forced to reset.

Someone else commented this but I'd like to go more in-depth into why I believe the episodes are out of order. In "Transport" you can see Smart Yellow Guy in the window a bit before 13 and a half minutes along. Yellow guy claims to be scared of this which would make sense if he betrayed this version of himself with the shredder. Also, Yellow Guy's monologue at the beginning explains the plot of "Electricity". Although I somewhat see a hole in this as Yellow Guy also explains there being "bigger ones" higher up at the beginning of "Electricity. In the same episode, they question whether they know the brief-case which could either support your theory that they are replaced or that it is out of order and the dead brief case was later revived. Near the end of "Electricity", Smart Yellow Guy drops duck his head comes off which later happens in "Death". In "Death" Duck plays his music while in the coffin. At the end of the episode we hear what is likely the whole song. The whole song mentions a "business man", a "family man", the "choo-choo man", the "friendly fellow", and the "plug-in man". All of these names correspond to characters in the show meaning that Duck would have had to have met them. Duck also mentions that he made the song via the computer which was destroyed at the end of "Friendship" so Duck must have somehow made this song after meeting Warren the Eagle but before the computer is destroyed. If I had to put them in an order I would most likely put it with "Transport" after "Electricity" and "Death" after them all with "Friendship" being right before that. In "Friendship" the computer claims that it needs to ask questions to "make sure you're really you, to which Duck replies, "'course we're us, aren't we" and Red Guy replies to that, "Yeah, I reckon." This does to seem to support your theory. Thank you for reading.

I personally think the circle symbol with arms represents yellow guy himself as it also physically resembles him like the other two character symbols, and it was on his chart. The other symbols clearly have some relationship with the teachers, for instance the symbol associated with duck resembles the two twins from the family episode, but also potentially references Duck's clone , the associated symbol with Yellow guy resembles the briefcase teacher, and the ZAA symbol associated with Red possibly references the double AA batteries of Electracy/Yellow Guy, or his repeated screaming throughout the series. As for why the objects were associated with them, to me it symbolises their character flaws, the chuddle dollops representing Duck's greed, The shovel representing Red's lack of ability to recognise his attachments and emotional absence, and the batteries are associated with Yellow's intelligence and lack thereof. I think the overall symbolism behind the symbols is just representing the wider lore of the show, but in and of themselves I doubt they much meaning in and of themselves.

A small idea I have about why the shovel is what represents Red Guy in the window is because of how he dealt with grief in the death episode-
Yellow and Duck are the only ones who use the shovel in that episode, but Red Guy instead just denies his grief until he forced Stain Edwards to mimic Duck instead of just expressing his feelings.
Duck expresses his sadness in a similar way in the Family episode after being sent home all alone; ignoring his pain until the others return- sure he DID try to do something about it in the start but he gave up on that eventually. Which is why I think his item is the Chuddle Dollups from that episode.
Yellow Guy is the only one who doesn’t really have a moment where he ignores his pain like those two, but the batteries are still very important to his character so I’m not sure what else to say about that.

  • @GoodrichT6
    @GoodrichT6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Ok, I was thinking about the shapes and objects in Leslie's room, and I think I have a really interesting theory.
The shapes and objects represent things that each character needs to learn in order to escape. I will explain each one in order of my confidence in the theory.
Yellow guy has a circle and some batteries.
Circles represent being friendly and harmless, both traits that yellow guy has expressed. Circles also represent adaptability, which could be expressed when yellow gets the batteries and suddenly has an interest in learning new things.
The batteries represent intelligence and memory. When yellow gains new batteries, his intelligence drastically improves, but it seems like he still can't recall memories from other times he's gone upstairs.
Yellow guy has come the closest to escaping out of the three characters, but it seems like he always falls short.
Duck has a square and some Chuddle Dollops.
Squares represent being stubborn, supportive, and reliable. Duck is already stubborn, but he has frequently shown that he is very self centered, and he doesn't seem to care about the consequences of his actions. He is certainly not very supportive of the other two, but he does seem to view himself as a father figure.
The Chuddle Dollops could represent teamwork and selflessness. In the Family episode, the three guys were only able to open the bag after they viewed each other as a "family" (or team). But, when there were only two dollops, duck immediately wanted both of them.
Duck does not seem to want to escape at all. He prefers comfort and letting things happen (when they go his way). Although he's often the one who notices when things start to go wrong.
Now, red guy is the most confusing out of the three. He has a diamond and a shovel.
Diamonds don't traditionally represent anything in character design, but I believe it could mean similar things as a triangle. Triangles represent power and progress. Red guy is likely the most powerful out of the three, being a large humanoid. He is also very motivated to escape, and he tends to act as the leader of the group.
The shovel is strange for reasons explained in the video. Red guy hasn't really interacted with a shovel at all, but maybe that isn't what's important. The shovel could represent tools and experience. As I said, red is very motivated to escape, and the moment he had access to a tool (the car in Transport), he tried escaping with it. However, he lacked the knowledge and experience to use it properly, stranding the three in the wasteland (I have a different theory about the wasteland, but that's for later haha). Red is likely the most capable to use tools, being a humanoid with hands.
It's also possible that the shovel represents "digging deeper", or finding the secrets that are hidden in their world.
Yellow guy needs to learn to be more adaptable, intelligent, and to be able to remember what he has learned. Maybe he's read the book before, and remembering what was in it will be very useful.
Duck needs to learn to care for and be supportive of the other two, and he needs to learn to be less selfish and to bring everyone together as a team.
Red guy needs to learn how to use tools to escape, and he needs to learn how to use them properly. I don't know what tool he needs to find, but I bet he'll be able to find something (maybe a shovel!)
I apologize for the long comment, and it might be messy in some places. Please let me know what you think about this theory! I doubt it's all foolproof, and I may have missed a few important details, so feel free to start a discussion!

"It's kind of wierd that Red Guy's surname is before his first name," Except that there are quite a few contries in our real world where that exact thing happens, where the surname is put before the given name.

Theory before I finish the video: I think the other symbol on the "eat together" screen being Red could also be backed by the original DHMIS3, referencing the chicken picnic which the two of them essentially ate as a family.

I think people are focusing on the death/david aspect too much, yes death is a theme but it really seems to me that this series is about Control.
Being told what jobs to do, where to go, what a family is and whether your even alive.
Lesley is just the top most layer of the house, a constructed thing controling the world under it at the behest of even greater powers.
The yellow guy was distracted by the promise of possible answers in a holy book, then sent back to the people who would keep him dumb for their own benifit before he could see that this "god" was just another puppet

I'm confused about something you said. At 7:06 you talk about the symbol on the x-ray diagram (the 'OM Line' type thing, or is it 'Line WO'?) as being the yellow guy's name, and how things significant to the characters have their name on it (like Green's plane). Wouldn't that make the OMLine symbol the yellow guy's name instead of the 'briefcase downarrow'. I don't see where you connect the dots from "Look at OMLine for the yellow guy, thus Briefcase Downarrow is his name; and we still don't know what OMLine means."

The symbols also look like who they represent as well, to further solidify the theory. If you turn Duck's symbol clockwise, you can see the shape of his head, his eye, and a beak. Red guy's symbol has his eyes, and his loose noodly shape. Yellow guy's symbol looks like a little robot, which he is.

When they type Yellow Guys name onto the keyboard it's like 500 letters long so how could his name be just as short as Duck Guys?
I like the theory, there just seems to be a few holes in it.

Putting last names before first names isn't weird. It's done in official documentation. It was in phone books. Do phone books even have a modern equivalent? Students and employees are sometimes written like that.

I know this isn’t relevant, but I like to think that the web series is considered “Red Guy’s ending” and the TV show is “Yellow Guy’s ending”. And Duck hasn’t gotten his ending, he’s gotten some episodes about him sure but not a full on ending.
I think that’s why in the first episodes intro, Yellow Guy and Red Guy, when saying where they are, the camera focuses on them. Because they’ve had their ending, their time in the spotlight. But Duck, who hasn’t had an ending yet, has a hard time getting the camera to focus on him because he hasn’t had his moment in the spotlight yet.

They’re sigils! Artistically rendered symbols based on the letters composing the words. Duck’s symbol is a sigilized rendering of “DAVID” - you can see every letter in the symbol. Red guy’s def has a C, maybe Charles? Yellow guy’s looks to me like the alchemical symbols for Saturn and Earth mixed w a robot. His complementary character reminds me of John Dee’s monad as well

i don't think the symbols represent their names. i think they are just ways the creators symbolized the characters. the duck symbol on the keyboard might be a sort of hot-key for his name. i dont think its his actual name. especially because when red guy typed out yellow guy's name, he had to type out a really long name for him. im still not sure why red guy didn't notice the duck symbol, but im sure that they're still the same characters. red guy and ducl were having a conversation about previous episodes, so i dont think they would be different people.

I sorta assumed the Shovel was to do with figuratively digging up the past, with Red Guy having the strongest links to the causes of all the events of the previous season, and maybe being something to do with his past with Roy.

The shovel is consistently in proximity to death (Being used to dig up Ducks grave, and being used as a murder weapon to kill the second Duck) so I think it's possible that it relates to Red Guy because he wants to be dead. He spent an awful lot of time jealous of Duck being dead, even straight up saying he thinks he's more the type to be dead and getting frustrated when his ID told him he won't die for a long time.

the symbol in the intro and on the diagnosis print is completely different from the symbol you said was Yellow Guy's name, it does contain a 180° rotated version of the symbol you associate with him, but it also contains additional parts.
Rotations and other bits being part of it as well could totally change the meaning.

This might be a dumb theory but think the reason why red guys symbol is a shovel is because if you see in the show yellow guy gets intelligence by getting batteries and duck wanted cuddle dollops. If we assume that the cuddle dollops powers up duck just like how batteries power up yellow guy then we can assume that red guy’s symbol would be a shovel. Also red guy was the only one who haven’t interacted with the shovel. It is a bit of a far fetched theory so only take this with a grain of salt

Okay, my little theory about why the dirty shovel represents red.
-The batteries represent Yellow Guy because he need them to work properly. They are important to him.
-Chuddle Dollops represent Duck because in the episode "Family" he is the first one to say they are a family. To have a family is important for him.
-In the episode "Death" they say Red Guy is jealous of Duck being dead... but actually he just don't want his friend to die... when Duck dies Red Guy decide to make a new Duck using "Stain Edwards". He can't, and will not get over the fact that Duck died... The shovel was outside because maybe he considered to get duck himself, but Red is too proud to admit he love his two weird friends.

I’m pretty sure the secondary symbols are actually their surnames because in the computer episode of the original series when the red guy is saying his name before he is cut of he says “ my name is d- “ so his name could be something like Derek red guy or something

The symbol next to Yellow also resembles the light on the worker's helmet from Episode 1. Also, the shovel that appears often appears in the song part of episode 1 and when digging the soil in episode 2.
The symbol next to Duck is also depicted on the walls of the cave in the cartoon part of Episode 5's Song of Transport. There are three characters, a mammoth, and a symbol on the walls of the cave, as well as damages similar to the Duck made on the coffin in Episode 2. Considering these comprehensively, it seems that the symbol next to the Yellow and Duck means "Job""death"and...maybe...Red means"Road"or "Drive"
A book with symbols representing the themes of each character. The contents of the book may have been the contents of all the episodes of Season 2.
