The person who made that video seems like a cool guy...Thanks for the react!
👀 something bout this guy is fishy
Eh, musta been the wind.
The guy has some other banger videos too. Great stuff while to watch while you grind.
I'll never forget during the beta, dueling at around +8 or 9 in the arena outside Velia and then in the last 30 mins of the test the +15s came in and blew up everyone and eachother. Was amazing.
The days
BDO feels like the final lasting product of that period of time during the mid-late 2000's where f2p korean mmos were coming out in droves with tons of experimental gameplay features and genre blending.
36:01 ngl this slower PvP looks WAY more enjoyable then what we have now
Maehwa being able to run everywhere unprotected without fearing for her life seems like a fever dream
Maewha would be slowed down too @@DrSwazz
it looks horrible wtf lmao
Agreed. Don't like the way too long cc and backstab to win system one bit. If it was like this colosseum with actual fights I would definitely pvp.
Yes, silver did have weight, but Prognyl Bars (which you could get as rewards for various kills and quests) had 0 weight. So the trick that some of us figured out was to always carry a supply of those Bars so you could cash in more silver than you could hold at any storage (remember the silver in your storages were not unified either.)
I believe (and you should know this) that the "Marketing Department" was Kakao.
Fk Kakao hated em
One thing I missed for sure, the nights were dark af, when it rained at night I felt so immersed
My nights are still dark AF, to the point I get lost in spots I've grinded over 100 houts in. Seems to depend heavily on both device and settings.
16:48 perfect timing on the resub animation lol.
Brings me back to 2012 when I was running the game on a Toshiba laptop
Wow man, some stuff here was great, for me especially those field bosses with mobs attacking the cities, imagine a moment where you were cooking at Velia and then suddenly you need to join all players in town in a massive coop trying to save the city, please add this into the game.
I have a theory that the pop in in bdo ties way back to an original feature in the game engine. Where vision distance for pvp/pve was tied to a crystal or your helmet/glasses costume slot. So things that register as interactive would pop in depending how far you could see. That would mean everything npcs to wheat. I remember killing mobs in a wheat field an wheat would show up in your inventory. Because technically you were cuting the wheat as well. The game had crazy weird mechanics back then. And probably plague the simplified systems now.
No, it's a performance thing. By limiting the high detail view frustum, this reduces the memory bandwidth and ultimate polygon draw count. It was a common simple method of optimizing. This was what developers did before nanite.
"They look like slaves..." The text describing workers when the game came out basically said as much and they had to change it later. Workers were slaves and you worked them 24/7 and fed them nothing but beer.
Interesting to see how BDO looked 3 years before release in Alpha kind of like where AOC is now. We can see how different it looks and feels compared to when it launched in 2014. Something to keep an eye out for
at the beginning the game was real MMORPG ,we use to go grind in party ,but that did not last long
why? cuz people rmt, so you cant blame them tho.
@@KasanovaXD simply because game changed to enrol more new players by simplifying the game giving them catch up stuff , look how much there is useless items in the game , witch is only being used by "ironman chalenge" content creators and etc or maybe it was from the start made to be single player mmorpg
@@bronkaketurakis3914 wait you just ignored my point about RMT!
@@KasanovaXD it was from the start , I started playing BDO it was on oficialy unoficial server over vpn , but it was connected to a kokao directly and players where buying stuff from the start from pearl shop that was not an issue
80% minimum of the game has always been a solo grind spot. From Sausans to now, it's always been better to be solo.
blades 2 workers still on that node till this day
I feel like the music got louder and louder
I thought I was going crazy
Dude, 32:31, they can throw anyone out of the throne room, and castle. Look how it works in RO.
14:39 that's Clorince, Eileen's twin sister. Eileen wears green, Clorince wears red.
So everyone collectively and confidently got it wrong. 😃
Can't wait to watch this after work.
only blue dragon could make a 42min video about a 17min video
right.. dude talks too damn much lol
This could have been a possible idea for the OTK competition. I feel like you dont need a crazy amount of game knowledge to enjoy it
a time where you could use your left click auto attack(or anything else unprotected) without instantly getting cc'ed..
I was just going to check out the video about corsair but it's on private? I queued it up like 2 days ago. Is it gonna come back? Idk why it's privated. If you got hate let people talk.
The only game that was even close was Tera. Atleast combat wise, this is basically why I'm addicted now. 5th day
Lol i remembered dropping a +15 wings in MU online back in the day 🥶
The faction system seems dope. Reminds me of eso but you’re tied to those factions
Star Citizen will release before Ashes does , I'm convinced of that now. Trading aspect of BDO when it was first announced for NA and i found out about it is what made me buy the game pre launch, WoW's Legion expansion is what got me to not play BDO, don't regret playing Legion but I should have returned to BDO once it was over.
If we could get riiiight in the middle of that combat, and current combat, in terms of overall speed and classes actually being somewhat tanky (not the same way EVA is) it would be really fun. I don't mind the combat being fast, but today some of the classes are just beyond the game engines ability to handle it frankly.
god i remember silver having weight sheesh im glad they changed that
These boys stay putting in work. Love the devs even more now xD
Instruments like drums and flutes used to stun the field bosses. Muskets as well. There were trailer that showed them stunning the bosses but they never soecifically said it outright in tooltips or in game bit it worked. My guold started doing it then people started to complain saying we were cheating/exploiting bugs. This was during the days where people still did field bosses religously to get boss gear. Marks and witches were bis. A time when killing the ogre near manshaum forest was a myth. Tri/tet baris necklace was a thing and ogre ring was rare.
Oh and you were able to spam pve dodge rolls to avoid bhegs 360 swing or other boss moves. It even worked on tamers pet since it was a 'pve' mob as well.
just wondering what is the mistake with the boat?!?
6:14 not true. i wish it was though. the only thing you can see from inside a house is your own horse. even npc's and skill effects go away. this video showed that they really dropped the ball on a lot of stuff once the game actually came out but did good on scrapping other things. having bosses attack towns instead of being dumb loot pinatas would have been so much fun. 37:05 look up the octavis boss fight from lineage 2. it was a really cool fight. 39:40 i suck at pvp and i'm exited to try this feature that doesn't exist. they really need to watch this video to see all the cool features that they scrapped
The outdoor camping feature hands down dumbest thing to remove, especially if the camping tool had considerable weight capacity. Like imagine rolling out to a hunting spot or grind with your guildies setting up a camping circle. Add like some buffs to outdoors cooking or a "well rested" buff... All the crazy RPing you could get up too man. Golden. Give it back! I need it back! current tent is barely half of that.
Tbh like a hardcore server would be crazy where people drop stuff
Would have to jack up drop rate to like 700%
guy found some treasure videos from the past
Steve Jobs was long dead when faceid was first introduced on iphone
That is not entirely accurate on death thing. It was specifically trade goods. Alpha and release in NA, mobs would drop trade goods, Sausans was a prime example of this. Grinding back in the day was more closely tied to trading. Sausans had trade goods, Pirates had trade goods, so you could finish your grind, drop everything in storage and then go trade. It was one of the reasons why trade was so valuable back in the day [Also one of the biggest points of pay2win. You could throw money at the game, get the top rated house in an area and get free trade packs so long as you had a top rated house in that town] Grinding in general had a closer tie to life skilling. Green armos and weapons could be melted down for rare materials that you could use in recipes or other trade items. It was actually a pretty cool system imo but they dropped that for just raw profit and inventory management. It was a fix to a problem they caused. . .instead of just giving everyone inventory space, they opted to cut that tie between grind zones and life skilling.
droping items when you die from monster or be killed as red PK was in lineage 2, that was like ur reward for hunting REDs and punishment for farming simple mobs and somehow die, hurt as F, sometimes yo just lost ur main weapon which took u months to get, just like that, hated that but guild and freinds could trade with u and u were back in action no time with weaker items till you got better, only abuse was run with full inventory slots to lesser chance
blue talks a bit game about YT and stuff but has a fucking back rustling through the video.
i am new to bdo and now my r key gets pressed more than my w key
nice, thank
Trading items? Someone remember coins you get from pirates, or even bandana was to be trad in to get full profit.
I miss have silver weight...
factions in a random near town event that gave like 50% drop rate for 10 hours for the winner and 10% for the looser would be very worth it. how is that not a thing?
Cho would kind of ruin those
@@DrSwazz make it random. they can fight themselfs
bro i played super early kakao and man..... phew
nice thank
Black Desert classic when? Please.
The real and the GOOD BDO, dropping inventory content, imagine dropping the Merchant Ring, pure satisfaction looting it
apophis will hit earth before ashes releases.
Imagine PA making bdo classic lmao
For the best BDO reading experience just spamm the read button as fast as possible, which is "r".
I glad that faction system didn't made it in the game I would hate it so much and never try this game ever.
GIVE US FACTIONS
Not on NA ,your lost Xp if your where killed in PVP tho...
Before powercreep, mobility creep and animation speed creep.... PVP was so much more fun! Also, the lack of sustain and the general tankyness of players, way more fun.
my ex gf was 120lbs guess i was broke
Your statements about how nobosy can replicate it is untrue, ue5 can easily do chorded inputs and is vastly superior in nearly every aspect of development.
my ex weighted 56kg lol
You can love the current state of BDO as much as you like, fair, it makes sense, the QoL changes are great. But pre/release BDO was the shit. You were scared out there, you were getting farmed by some Alpha males. It made it a different experience. So, the bottom line is, it was pretty much a different game altogether.
I regret being too young to play the game back then. I had the attention span of a beetle and couldn't for the love of god grind at all.
@@Herravanrikki It was a cracking game back then. It still is now, but it's very different.
@@eclap78 For sure, i was amazed by the game then and hearing stories about those times have me jealous, it was everything i've looked in an MMO for quite some time now. Just didn't understand it back then.
It would be fun for them to do a fresh start server like archeage. Go back to the first patch but with all the sweet quality life improvements. Would be fun af.
Bdo now is the least exciting game you can play out there for real
Honest feedback here blue, if you read comments. If you're snacking or eating please put the bag somewhere where the mic doesn't pick it up. It is incredibly annoying.
I want to hear your take and liked the video, but the fucking bag sound drives me up the wall dude.
No problem!
You got issues, its barely a couple of sounds here and there
first
yeah game was awful in the first few years big reason people quit.
This looks just as bad if not worse than Ashes current alpha gameplay/graphics. Something to think about based off your Ashes/BDO cope video.
2011???? Helloooo?
@@balancebreaker1561 You missed the point. It's the improvement over time not when it was released and the lesser graphics engine.
Runescape players : 0:00 yeah thats normal
im a main archer with 327ap 417dp :P
