I don’t say this for pity or anything, but I love your videos. I just came from bible study where I had a great time. But now that I’m home, I’m back to being depressed and numb. So I just want you to know that you two make me smile even on my worst days. Thank you for everything you do, especially Kurt with the talking on IG personally.
I pretty much only collect slipjoints these days. I still have a handful of modern folders that I keep around, partly because they're good knives and partly because they wouldn't turn a price if I tried to sell them. But traditional slipjoints have really grabbed me ever since covid started. Would LOVE to see more slipjoint/traditional knife content.
My wish came true! 😃 I like the blend of traditional and modern designs! I personally have a slip joint as part of my EDC every single day. I even manage to get pretty hard use out of them without injuring myself. In my personal opinion, a traditionally designed slip joint is your best choice fir knife use around people who might be frightened by more aggressive-looking modern folders.
I truly believe that slip joints are an amazing thing. I keep an extra knife on me to use in not knife friendly places. Not to mention when someone asks you to borrow a knife, I'm definitely not going to give them a custom CRK.
When someone who knows I carry a knife asks "Oh hey, can I borrow your knife?" I always feel like saying "Dude, when's your birthday? I'll buy you one so you don't have to ask."
@@thestig007 the amount of knives I have purchased for people as gifts with the hopes I was going to infect them with the bug, but now they all sit at the bottom of a desk somewhere
My favorite slipjoint is the Hinderer Slippy, easy one-hand open, great blade and super safe use. It's a little mushy OOB but it gets super smooth once it breaks-in
Guys, trust when I say I love ya, but man… double detent non-locking folders are definitively, unequivocally NOT slipjoints. A slipjoint is a reference to a specific mechanism, notably a solid steel back spring that slips past the tang of the blade. There really needs to be a categorical break between these totally different knife types. Arrrgh! Still, you’re doing a great job with your videos. Dallas, you’re looking much more comfortable up there. Nice work!
For us in the uk that can only carry non locking knives we slip ( no pun intended) all non locking knives into the Same category for ease of searching for what we can have. Glad people do the same otherwise I'd be searching forever
@@maxwhite8470 I understand that it makes searching with the words slipjoint more inclusive but it’s a completely different thing. It’s like saying a back lock is a frame lock because they’re both types of locking knives.
Ha, this was great. Really enjoying the videos recently. You guys have a cool chemistry but it would even more cool if you took a shot of the good stuff in between knives. Think like Strange Brew meets Knife Banter. Maybe have the EMT’s on standby for Kurt. Just a thought from Ol’ Uncle Island Style🤣. 🏝🥃🍺🍹🧉🏝
That Boker Barlow really caught my eye, especially the beautiful swirly grain on the Ironwood. I looked it up on your website, though, and the photos shows the ironwood with boring straight grain. I'd love one with grain like you showed in the video but I'm not interested in the grain shown on the website. 😞
uuhh I like the Bestech. They had another Ostap design that looked good like the Ki-V, the Tulip. Those And the Civivi Apalachan Drifter completes 2 good combos of Bestech and Civivi.
I love you guys, but no Italian slippers?! I just got a couple of your Lionsteel Gitano's for my brother and Dad for Christmas. Absolutely great looking blades, now I gotta get me one. Merry Christmas blade hq!
Victorinox Pioneer in Orange my slipjoint of choice Wanted to ask if you suave dudes can do an episode on movie knives...? By that I mean knives from movies like The Hunted John Wick Bullet to the head. If you ever followed the True Detective season 2 series, there were so many knives featured in the whole series from Benchmade,Coldsteel,Emerson mostly. Anni Bezzerides(Rachel mc Adams) was an absolute knife babe in the series 😎
For me it’s what I want to legally carry a pocket knife in my state and don’t wanna get a CCW.because my state has stricter knife laws that does firearm laws
Rule number ?? (Did Gibbs even cover this?) - Don't stab a slip joint ( or an Eleanor ) into a log. She is for boat carving only. Lol. Bring coffee, black!
Thanks for ruining screwing up my package BladeHq. I guess you guys can't be bothered to actually make sure that the stuff I ordered was actually in the package when you mailed it out.
Yeah the boker is pretty, but unless that damascus is using quality steels thats all it is. You can make damascus with pig iron and 440a and it wouldnt be worth a shit.
Perhaps this community can help me out! I'm in the market for a knife. Im new to carrying a knife around, but i want to have a EDC that's capable of daily cutting (i work in a production company with cloth, so i cut a lot) whilst also looking good. One thing it needs to have is a assisted opening. I dont mind what type lock it is, as long as i can both open and close it with one hand. (no OTF knives, those aren't legal in my country). This is my first knife. and since its my first, i dont want to spend to much money on it. but i dont want to cheap out and have a horrible experience eiter. The maximum I am willing to spend for a knife is 50-75 dollar. who know's a good knife for me? EDIT: i was looking ath the CRKT LCK+ Tanto Blackout EDC. is this any good? or what should i look for
A well made slip joint will handle the majority of our daily cutting needs and last for many many years if taken care of. They may not be what you like, and I am not trying to change your mind on that, but you shouldn't underestimate what can be accomplished with just a small sharp non locking blade.
dude. Kurt, I say this with love, but its time to start wearing chainmail gloves on a daily basis. Your gonna lose function in those hands! I dont wanna see you doing knife banter with a hook.
Personally, I hate slip joints with clip points. You can't use the point, without it closing on you. A slip joint, with a clip point, needs to have other blades. So that the clip point, can be your trash blade

I just ordered a small slip joint knife. Why do you like them so much? I'm curious bc this is my first slip joint knife other than multitools

Victorinox Compact! The Ultimate EDC knife! My go to EDC for the past few years. Small enough you don’t notice it in your pocket.
Bruh, when Chuckie stood up out of nowhere... I died! 😭😂
Nice episode, I really like Dallas as a host. Kurt aswell of course. they make a really good combo
Slip joint RULE number ONE:
👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
👉 Don't be stabbin' stuff! 👈

(Or pay the blood-price as the rest of us!)

who ever edits these videos, good job even my girlfriend that isn't into knives watches them with me
My favorite slipjoint is the Hinderer Slippy, easy one-hand open, great blade and super safe use. It's a little mushy OOB but it gets super smooth once it breaks-in
I'm with you guys the Boker and the Case are both slick.
That Boker 😍
Middle of Saskatchewan at a small store i found a brand new case trapper in black and white weaved synthetic. Quickly became my favourite EDC.
Love the videos! It’s like Top Gear but for all things knife

Hilarious Intro :D :D :D
10:22 “you know the thing!”
YESS SLIPIES!! can you do one for hard use slips?
Spyderco makes alot of good hard use slip joints. Also check out the Kizer Zip Slip.
That boker Barlow is stunning! Any case knife fits a pocket so well, but you guys missed the kershaw line the culpepper is awesome!
You lads need to check out Manly Knives, Slip joint made with s90v, and a clip.
Awsome been waiting for this video
I enjoy these videos.. gives me ideas for what’s out there and what to put on my list :)
Case and Boker are really nice and useful knives.
I have never cut myself with a slipjoint lol
That's it? I was expecting an hour
you guys need to decorate for Christmas in there lol
I carry an old camillus TL29 that I got in a thrift store for a $1, I made a set of custom purpleheart scales for it and It's never let me down
The victorinox alox knives are pretty awesome.
That civivi slip joint is next on my list of knives to get. Im gonna order the natural jade g10 handled one once I get paid.
Pocketing a compact meow! Additionally, got an esee 4hm with a Ferro rod addition compliments of AZWelke on the kydex.
Dallas, gotta get a deep carry clip on that 940 brotha !
I know I do. One of these days. lol
-Dallas
Only slippy left in my collection is my CRK Impinda … Super steel … able to be taken apart and maintained … but most importantly, it has a clip!

Hoping for a Dessert Warrior Compact SAK from Santa!! Nice EDC if you need something that wont frighten people in office.

Just bought that boker looks a beaut
I want traditional slipjoints with modern blade steels.
Who stabs something with a non-locking folder?! It’s no wonder why Kurt is always hurt. 🤦♂️
Me, when I was a young lad. 🙃
Y'all got an ETA on when international shipping will be available again? Was truly devastated when I missed the native Chief in M4
I’m looking for a Victorinox knife right now and I’m thinking the super tinker, but what knife do
You recommend for me
Pioneer x because the scale are alox the liner are more solid ticker blade the reamer punch is super useful im french sorry for my english
uuhh I like the Bestech. They had another Ostap design that looked good like the Ki-V, the Tulip. Those And the Civivi Apalachan Drifter completes 2 good combos of Bestech and Civivi.
Im always between my Boker Leopard Demast and my Case knives as a secondary for the times when whipping out a modern folder may cause some ill looks.
next video can you make it about otf knifes under $100?
Ohhhh slippys!!
Why would you do a show about slip joints and not include the Lionsteel Thrill?
I must’ve missed the video in which Kurt told us how he hurt his hand. Can anybody post a link so that I can quell my wonder?
No mention of Impinda or gentleman jack.
Awesome video!! Does the buck doctors blade count???
What I got to do to get a video on just tip down carry knives?
I just ordered a serge bean couple days ago
I love you guys, but no Italian slippers?! I just got a couple of your Lionsteel Gitano's for my brother and Dad for Christmas. Absolutely great looking blades, now I gotta get me one. Merry Christmas blade hq!
Those are solid gifts my friend. Merry Christmas to you.

Love the content! Could y’all do a video on Italian stilettos?
We will see what we can do.

Victorinox Pioneer in Orange my slipjoint of choice
Wanted to ask if you suave dudes can do an episode on movie knives...?
By that I mean knives from movies like The Hunted
John Wick
Bullet to the head.

Anni Bezzerides(Rachel mc Adams)
was an absolute knife babe in the series 😎
Dallas breaking out the history.
okay, back to knife center vids.
I am a huge fan of Victorinox. The Spinderco Rodie wouldn't fit in my pocket if it came in a Crackerjack box.
Double detention knives aren’t slip joints, which means the civivi should not be here
Man, I feel like youda been better off just lopping off that pointer finger. 🤣
I got a pocket knife, I can cut it off for ya if you want. 😂
Yay
Thanks for ruining screwing up my package BladeHq. I guess you guys can't be bothered to actually make sure that the stuff I ordered was actually in the package when you mailed it out.
I only use slipjoints for work, everything else feels clunky.
Can't beat the trapper.
Right size, two blades, not scary and high performance.
Practical, not tactical.
Yeah the boker is pretty, but unless that damascus is using quality steels thats all it is. You can make damascus with pig iron and 440a and it wouldnt be worth a shit.
Castle wood 😂 lol
👍

3:10 Offitseers-Messer - I hope that helps someone with the pronounciation. And give it a nice sharp s when you say it, all the s's.
is the enduring freedom case knife made of bone from the taliban? lol... cause if it is ill buy it!
Bring Zach back.
What's up with the "Premieres" crap? If your going to post something just post it.
Wish there was a way to disable the notifications. Idk
I agree with you Papa kk
So many nice slipjoints out there and yall pick garbage other than the boker and case
Is it not common knowledge that the blade got its name for speying?
What happened to the other guys? This guy on the right is starting to annoy me. He has the personality of a rock.
Wild! Not 😂
Wow, very uncool. I can cut those dinky things in half with my Recon 1. Seems like if the price is over $20 it's robbery
Then maybe just don’t buy them?

Sorry, the last thing you get with Case is quality. You can tell theres not one person who works for Case, that gives a shi* about their job.
Personally, I hate slip joints with clip points. You can't use the point, without it closing on you. A slip joint, with a clip point, needs to have other blades. So that the clip point, can be your trash blade
slip joints are so trash I cannot fathom why they are still made.
