    I grew up with a guy who had a 98 mile an hour fast ball in high school. He was signed by the Reds and blew out his shoulder and never played a game. Growing up being a regular 15 year old, trying to play baseball with your friend while you have 80 mile an hour fast balls whizzing by your face because he wants to play baseball so he's "taking it easy on you" was quite the experience. BUT he never once hit me haha

      Most drafted players never make it to the majors. Only 16 percent of drafted players will ever play a major league game, and that's skewed to early round picks, late rounders have less than a 4 percent chance. My business partner was drafted by the braves as a pitcher during the Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz era. He kicked around the minors for 7 years and hung it up.

Most other sports the only route in is through a college team. A schoolmate of mine was signed to a semi pro team right out of high school. He played one year of double A and one year of Triple A then went right to the majors and played for ten years. He earned enough to retire at the age of 30 with a healthy retirement fund, a home, a vacation home, nice cars etc.

    Plot Twist: Speed is stuck at 50mph start and he's only throwing 40-46mph. 🤣

    If he’s a pitcher that’s gonna be bad. Bet he couldn’t throw 95 with out that run up

      Right! Im not hating but people don't understand that run up added like 7 or 8 ... standing he probably avg 80ish ...

    • @virgo4200

      That's what I was thinking isn't he suspose to stand still not run and throw

    • @EmptyPeace
      @EmptyPeace 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charlielee3396 soo he threw a 96...but without the run up it would of taken off 7-8 so somehow you get 80 from it... There's no way they little run up is added 16.

      I threw 90 my junior year.. standing still, on a kids mound. I didn’t get any attention.

    It is impressive but the fact that he’s running into the pitch adds at least 10mph

      No it doesn’t. And he’s not running into.
      What he is doing would be about 6 mph faster than from a mound. If you knew baseball, mechanics, etc. you wouldn’t need this explained to you.
