We all want to experience spiritual growth and success. In this video Swami Mukundananda shares two secrets to your spiritual growth.
The purpose of Yoga is to purify the mind. If you wish to change the state of your mind it will not happen by itself.
Maharishi Patanjali in his yoga sutra gives two ingredient for success in spirituality. First detachment from worldly objects & second to practice & endeavor to take the mind in direction of God.. By these two means one can control the thought waves of the mind.
Swami Mukundananda emphasizes on the importance of action. This process of spirituality will not happen automatically. As the saying goes, God helps those who help themselves.
Even in material world to achieve success one has to endeavor. Genius is 99% perspiration 1% inspiration. Similarly the process of spirituality requires applying ourselves to it.
The goal will be achieved by combination of two our efforts & the grace of God.
    *********************************************************************
Maharshi Patanjali, one of the six sages who wrote Shad Darshan (the six-philosophical theses,) is a highly regarded Sanskrit scholar with multifaceted dimensions. His Yog Sutras(also known as Yog Darshan) that primarily deals with sadhana or spiritual practices is in the form of sutras. These sutras are “simple yet effective aphorisms that have strung the philosophy,” says Swami Mukundananda ji. The Yog Sutras are not only ancient but also very practical. Modern Psychologists too are discovering its utility in guarding or in regaining mental health.
In this preamble to Patanjali Yog Sutras, Swamiji introduces us to one of the primary requisites for spiritual progress, while answering these questions in a lucid manner - Who is Patanjali? What was the purpose of his birth? How did Yog Sutras come about? What are the elements of Yog Sutras?.

I need the structure of the Daily Sadhana course where each lesson focuses on these aspects of spirituality. I practice detachment (though not always successfully) by reminding myself of what Swamiji says, that is, all things material, skills as well as objects, belong to God and we will take nothing with us when the soul departs.

Radhey Radhey!! Thank you Smita Mehta for sharing with JKYog viewers your ways of practicing detachment & your struggles with it.
I'm sure many of us can relate to the daily struggles of perfecting detachment.
But as Swamiji says, our goal will be achieved by our effort and the grace of God.

Great wisdom tips to understand from Swami Mukundananda ji...In this world we did not get expertise in any field without practice. Practice is the true ingredient which is required to learn or achieve anything. Great to know and get the inspiration from musical maestro Ravi Shankar. He said 'If I do not practice one day I know the difference, If I do not [practice for two days, critics will know the difference. if I do not practice three days, public can see the difference. " Great to know his words on practice. In the world also we did not achieve anything without practice even to the extent of sitting and standing. Same way if we practice and have detachment from the world we can achieve the Goal of human life easily. Swamiji gave the beautiful example of Mahakavi Kalidas, how we was like a fool earlier. When he got hurt from his wife, he just decided and put in to best practice and became a great scholar of sanskrit. The same way if we can inspire ourselves we can become great personalities in the same life. Swamiji said, along with practice we need to have key ingredient of detachment from the world.
Thank you Swamiji for your gems of wisdom with logical explanation. Hoping to make you happy by implementing it my life...

As no skill can be mastered without effort and practice. Detachment from the pleasurable and practice are the two essential ingredients to develop love for God. This is one of the highest knowledge to achieve success in this world and in spirituality.

A very powerful example by Swamiji to illustrate the importance of daily spiritual practice. A music maestro can feel the difference if his music practice is missed for a day. Similarly, a meditation practitioner can feel the difference in the quality of meditation if it is missed even for a day. As the saying goes, practice makes us perfect. However, as Swamiji has mentioned here, it is very important to remember that spiritual practice alone is useless without Divine Grace! In reality, Devotional practice and Divine Grace go hand in hand.

In this beautiful narrative, Swamiji says that to establish mastery at anything, we need to keep practicing until we reach the level of perfection. However, practice alone will not suffice. We also need to be detached to the outcome of our effort. So detachment and practice will enable us to truly focus on the goal. Thank you, Swamiji!!

Thoughts and circumstances no longer trouble me as it used to do earlier. Able to accept whatever is the situation and outcomes. Doing meditation regularly (baby Krishna & other jkyog meditations), reading and applying Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam in day to day transactions and chanting Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare has done wonders in my life. I have found inner peace and also my passion/calling aligned to my nature(swadharma) . Thanks for your blessings and wonderful messages.

The Spiritual growth does not happen without the endeavor or effort like anything else in the world. It happens when we apply ourselves to it. The two important ingredients in Spirituality are detachment from the objects pleasurable to mind and senses and attachment to God.
