Having just watched this and not the anime let me tell you this was HILARIOUS not only because this isn't subtext, just plain text but also because i kept trying to guess the genre, guesses wich went from "slice of life (cant believe it's not bl)" to "sports anime (still cant believe its not bl)" to "holy shIT THATS (very gay) MAGIC"
