Real Families: Journey to Improved Parenthood | House Of Tiny Terrors

  • It’s the fifth day in the House of Tiny Terrors, and it’s the last full day in the house and it’s time to come to terms with what’s changed and what still needs to change and how progress has gone.
Children - and parents - learning the right way to do things.
The House of Tiny Terrors is a real house that doubles up as a clinic for three very different families with toddlers aged one to five years old. Each of the families is affected by a parenting problem; it could be sleeping, eating or bad behaviour. The house is rigged with cameras and over the course of the week, the families are monitored 24/7 by a presenter and child psychologist. Once problems have been witnessed, our expert gets to work - coaching the parents on how to interact with their child using ‘ear bug’ techniques and providing games, stunts and role-play exercises to help the families look at their issues in new ways. One week later we visit them back home to see if their lives have changed for the better.
Real Families brings you stories of modern day family life from around the world through the eyes of children, parents, and parenting experts.

Why does Jessica suddenly get obsessed with Gia eating toast? And then Rich gets in on it, too, not only interrupting his daughter's breakfast but also undermining Jessica. The poor little girl was doing fine eating her eggs, and then both parents start bugging her to the point that she stops eating. Shut up, Mom and Dad!

I like Dr. Tanya and this series, along with the original UK version, and I understand why they pick parents and children with common issues: eating, sleeping, discipline, aggression, and so on, so they can help others in similar situations. But this particular set of families were just so unlikeable for me. They were all so self-involved and dramatic over small things that most of us wouldn’t waste a moment on. It’s just my opinion, of course, but they just weren’t nice to each other. I know that was the root of the problem, but it made it boring to watch and I ended up skipping through a lot of the petty squabbling, blaming, and whining.

I totally disagree with Rich!! When his wife was trying to get there daughter to eat her eggs, He should have stayed out of it if he disagreed and helped her to achieve her goal. After and when they were alone he could have said what he wanted to say about what she was doing wrong in his eyes. Also when they were with the Dr, I don’t know what happen there!! I feel she was off the mark this time and he jumped on what she said cause he didn’t look like the one who was wrong in the morning. AND HE WAS!!! I usually understand what the Dr is doing. I did not this time. Afterwords when he was commenting that she told the world that he was a bad listener. That’s what upset him that morning. That she criticized him

For the UK versions I would type into Google search "House of Tiny Terrors, UK" or juggle about with the words until it comes up...If you keep including UK you should get it because there are quite a few of them. This channel = NURTURE might have them ? Good luck 👍🏻

It seems like most of the problems are the result of too much attention, too much of being "special", too much asking of questions, too much coaxing, and especially...too much reasoning. Old-style parenting and punishing has much better results!

Jagger scares me. He's super charming one second, sadistic the next. Jumping on top of other kids? BITING his mother? What? I'm actually kind of glad when Dante whacks Jagger with his fishing pole. And of course Jagger screams bloody murder. How does it feel, kiddo??? I hope Jagger improved as he grew up, or heaven help anyone who tries to get within 10 feet of him.

jaelynn craddock Sadly, it appears they're on the road to divorce. Too bad they can't see it coming, maybe they'd change their behavior(s). I believe their divorce will be a much bigger nightmare than their marriage. They've had children and should learn to get along because things get _harder_ as the children get older. They may still "love" one another, but they do _not_ "like" one another. Very sad.
