In this video I make a fire R&B beat with nothing but stock FL Studio plugins only. The only exception is the drums. I used nothing but stock fl studio plugins for many years when I began my beat making journey back in 2008, and thought it would be fun to revisit my roots. This video is excellent for beginner FL Studio producers as well as advanced users.

@@NATETHEPRODUCERBEATS I've been using stock plug-ins and drumkits ONLY for going on 20 years if you have experience u understand that mixes with processed sounds and samples will never sound as clear as unprocessed stock samples and vsts. Dry sound is necessary to begin with never begin with reverb

man this whole time i thought that the polyphony was so that you could use the sliding notes. i had no idea that when you throw it would change the sound so drastically when you throw it up that high. man, never stop watching videos always keep learning!! so much that we have to absorb and its the stuff that you dont actively look for that you learn.

I have been using stock plugins on FL for a while. I feel like I always stumble upon a new sound everyday. It makes it very easy to forget about amazing vst's such as Nexus and Omnisphere when you are going through all the stock vst's thoroughly.
Facts the stock sounds much better then the expensive tools I try to use a new sound in every beat

can u go more into depth on how u make your melodies/ counter melodies? i’ve been super discouraged from making beats because everytime my melody sounds terrible
You are going to get better with time, try to focus on what you like!
I’ll def try my best to explain better, but in the meantime here’s a few tips: Use the fl studio chord helpers if you can. If you can get your hands on scaler2, I highly recommend it. Starting off with an ear pleasing set of chords def makes it easier. Also, layering + blending is hands down one of my favorite ways to get clean sounding melodies every time. Also, use arps for counter melodies. I do it all the time by copying and pasting the main melody into the arp, and adding effects / manipulating it from there. Grossbeat is a great cheatcode for manipulating the arps as well as halftime. Other than that keep practicing my man. It takes time but the more hours you put in, the faster you’ll see results 🙏🏿
You could also try to take for ex, one of the chords you are using, then, how to explain in english..... Split it up? Move the individual notes around, and make them go up 1 octave or two... I mean not play them all at once to make a chord. Also, search TH-cam.. "how to Make counter melodies". Or some like that.. I do hope your inspiration start to flow 👍🏻
