  • Peter Holcombe takes his 4x4 Revel Sprinter van to a very remote area on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Driving for hours through a backcountry maze of rocky, bumpy, and dusty dirt roads. Peter finds a dramatic campsite right on the rim of the Grand Canyon. This is an area seldom visited but just the spot he was searching for on this overland adventure.

Thanks Peter, I am about to cruise down that way in my diy sprinter. I’ve never been and I’m a excited and a bit nervous.

You can do it! It's so awesome out there. Just have good tires. The limestone can be sharp.

@@Famagogo well, I’m in Medford. I’m actually doing it. I’ve got KO2’s. On my way, to various places in Cali, AZ, Utah, then back to the NW. I am riddled with anxiety, fear, excitement… the unknown of it all. 😂

Hi @Famagogo when do those winter roads open up?
Ever since seeing this is been a dream to chill on the edge of the canyon and hopefully enjoy solitude for weeks..

I enjoyed the drone video and the way you framed a few of the shots at ground level and sky level in this film. Grand Canyon national park is 1,217,262 acres (4,926.08 km2). Lots of room for folks to explore!

Hey Buck, thanks a lot! Grand Canyon is a huge place. We have a lifetime of new places to explore just around the park. Lets go paddling this spring!

What tire pressure do you run on the roads?

It depends on the conditions but for a corrugated rocky dirt road like this this one I typically run 30-35 PSI. This makes for a much softer ride than the normal 50 front and 70 rear for normal street driving. I didn't show it in this video but I use an ARB onboard air compressor to re-inflate once I make it back to pavement. Thanks for watching!

Do you have the stock suspension or have you modded it out?

I have the Agile Offroad RIP kit. It’s been one of the best modifications we have made. It makes a very noticeable difference on and offroad.
