I can only imagine what reaction that Monty, God rest his soul, would have if he saw this game. He would either be wondering if he was still on those nootropics Gus recommended him or he would be brimming with pride that people are choosing to be more creative with their animations.
Because indie devs care about their games, unlike AAA game devs who don't really care at all. Valve had to learn this the hard way. Nothing ended up getting done after years of just letting people work on whatever they wanted. They had to be told to work on things even if they didn't like it, because if they didn't, little to no progress was made. That's how companies work. People don't go there to have fun, people go there to do work. So games are primarily created by people who genuinely don't care for the game, people who might not even like it.
Well you save alot of time when your game looks like it was created with nothing but free assets, and has lighting effects that make me think that the developer never took off their sunglasses while at their computer
Honestly, some of these animations actually go hard, ESPECIALLY that sniper rifle. I also really like the way he knocks the dude's hands away by twirling the revolver.
This video doesn't show what's REALLY special about the Sniper.....that's a long range takedown, you can use it from far away and the Squirrel will literally fly the distance to the guy to do it. That's why it shoots him back, it's to put you back to where you shot him from. Also why you hear the squirrel war cry/scream, there's an extra animation showing him flying along with the gun to the target before the rest of the animation plays out.
I finally get to see the takedown animations of the grenade launcher, sniper rifle, and rocket launcher! Thank you for that! (I would have bought the game to see them, but I'm currently jobless... everyone says they're hiring, but they don't call me back when I apply. I'm not sure what to believe.)
I swear if its not in the base game, someone needs to mod in skins for some popular animated squirrels like scrat from ice age and hammy from over the hedge

Honestly, the creativity on display with those takedowns is impressive, the Barrett takedown is one of my favorites.
