You would have to be a spectacularly bad player to hit your teammates even in a small room. Choosing a high corner of a room and applying the 20'r template is usually super safe.
Unless your DM houserules unpredictable blowback for a spell that in RAW is neither unpredictable nor has blowback.

@@Danceofmasks Older editions had fireball fill the volume of a 20 ft diameter sphere, so in a narrow corridor it was remarkably easy to hit yourself or your party.
Casting Fireball down a dead-end 5'x5' hallway, it actually wasn't possible to cast it far enough away from yourself to avoid damage until you were level 12 (the spell first becomes available at level 5).

I'll never forget the first time I got to see Gloryhammer opening with this song. It was their first Australian tour, they played at a local pub to an audience of maybe 30 people. I was invited last minute by my Scottish friend, who wanted us to "go and support Gloryhammer against the invasion of his home country". I was hooked, and been helping these guys battle through the cosmos ever since! I paid $12 for a ticket at the door.

If you like Zargothrax, you should check his band Alestorm! It's pirate themed power metal, absolutely silly and fun!

Dundee harbour has the 1824 ship HMS Unicorn docked, it is a walk in museum. It has a beautifully carved Unicorn figurehead.
“Rise of the Chaos Wizards” is peak Gloryhammer IMO.

Your reaction to the broken English is quite expected and warranted. They're kind of an affectionate parody of European power metal, and their "unique" choice of phrases is entirely on purpose to sort of poke a bit of fun at all the non-native English speaking lyricists in the genre, with great lines like "an epic war is fight!", "a hero cannot be defeated simply by making him die!" and "immortal warrior with armor made from wolf!". So great. :D

Well as brought up in the chat: Rhapsody (aka Rhapsody of fire) will be interesting for you. Symphonic! Epic Metal they called themselves once. Italian musicians using baroque type classic music plus metal and a fantasy story that spread over five albums. I personally love: Wisdom of the kings, Lamento Eroico, Son of Pain, Sacred Power of Raging winds, Legendary Tales, Dragonland's Rivers, The Wizard's Last Rhymes, Rage of the Winter, The Last Winged Unicorn .... and many others Just spectacular music.
Fabio's duet with Christopher Lee is just the EPITOME of EPIC

Bloodstock is incredibly friendly a place, you'll doubtlessly love it.
For what it's worth, Zargothrax's unicorn horde are *undead* unicorns. Real, living unicorns are on the side of Justice, not Chaos. You'd be aligned with Angus and the Questlords of Inverness.
She's gonna be well received there.

I was coming over to say that. It was a strange split.
oK....I'm a HUGE Gloryhammer nerd and I just wanna make a few points. First off I'm 99% sure this is the album version laid over a live video. Second, on his pronunciation, Thomas has a slight lisp and I think his precise diction might be the result of speech therapy or just something he learned to do to compensate for that. He's D's are a little soft and his S's are stretched a bit. Yes Chris Bowes is Zargothrax's voice on the albums. Definitely listen to the whole album. It tells a perfect classic fantasy story. And check out Silent Tears of Frozen Princess on this album if you want to hear Thomas sing a ballad. I'm an EVEN BIGGER D&D nerd and I also was highly entertained by the line "Fireballs make everybody die." I love your videos and especially love GLORYHAMMER! HAIL TO HOOTS!!!!!

That always bothered me in the D&D session at the start of Stranger Things. 1st edition Demogorgon had 95% magic resistance, and as a Demon Prince only took half damage from fire. Casting Fireball at him made no sense.

Regarding Guitar Hero, That is basically a dead game at this stage. Their is however a free fan made version on PC were people make and upload all sorts of music to play.

You are right about there being more mics. Basically every member has a mic for backup vocals, it is actually one of the reasons I love Gloryhammer. Also the Zargothrax voice is usually the keyboardist (Since each member is a character in the story)

I know that he was involved with Wizard thrown, and is totally involved with Alestorm.
I guess that since Alestorm & Gloryhammer do shows together that I thought that he was still in the band/ logistics etc.
@@Themaxwithnoname Pretty sure Chris still does some of the voice acting for the recorded bits (Chris himself has said Michael did some of it for the newest album though), since it isn't feasible to tour with 3 different active bands :P The touring keyboardist is Michael Barber (That may change though since he is also doing guitar for Wizardthrone as well now)
@@Thorinori well Wizardthrone has members from 4 different well known bands so I think he will stay with Gloryhammer who can tour way more easily than Wizardthrone will be able to do it.
( and Gloryhammer is financially way more profitable than Wizardthrone at the moment so it would be strange for him to leave that situation, especially after Covid.)

Living a few miles from Crail in Fife, and working across the River Tay in Dundee where the HMS Unicorn is berthed, there's another dimension to this for me.
Been waiting oh so patiently for this.
Elizabeth gets a like just for the unicorn video costume. Never mind the tongue-in-cheek D&D references. Oh yeah, and there's an epic cheesy power-metal song. What's not to like? Metal Must Be... even if it has unicorn horn bling and it's dipped in cheese.

Just got to say I love the way your whole body reacts. It makes the video such a delight to watch, not just for the way you break down the song and analyze it, but the joy you show. And keep the costumes comming. ^_^
There's two songs I would love for you to react to. The first is "The Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd. I feel this song was MADE to be reacted to by you. It's all about the vocals, and the version from the Pulse consert will make your soul weep in joy!
The other wish is for the "High Hopes" with Nightwish. It is a cover from Pink Floyd and it really let Marko shine as a vocalist.

I was at an Alestorm gig in Brighton UK many moons ago and they played this live for what they said was the first time . it was awesome. A year or so later the great Glory hammer were formed.
Somehow I've never listened to Gloryhammer. Love love love your reactions. Your channel is a lot of fun and pretty smart.

I love these guys. They seem to have so much fun with what they do........BUT, as I'm watching this I realized this wasn't about watching or reacting to the video. This was just about you having fun....and it was a wonderful thing to see. The repeated "OOH, Let's listen to that again!" were just great and were parts that I WANTED to listen to again.
.....and to whoever did the deep villainous voice in the middle there.......I WISH I HAD YOUR VOICE!!!!
I honestly think ALL the Gloryhammer reaction videos need to be done in the unicorn suit from now on........and it REALLY sounds like you need to do an interview with these guys one day. (Also in full unicorn suit)

I can't recommend enough, if you dig fantasy stories, and epic costumes, please check out the band Rhapsody. A lot of their early albums are basically one long story carrying over into each other, that's narrated by SIR CHRISTOPHER LEE. Start with either the video for Unholy Warcry for the full effect, or the live version of Emerald Sword. (Or Lamento Eroico for more opera-y things.) He's a powerful vocalist.
Not to forget that Sir Christopher Lee was also in a metal band, Charlemane from memory, apparently Christopher could also trace his lineage back to the holy roman emporer Charlemane

I played a character which I designed specifically as a tank who can deal with fireball, so our two party casters could just go-for-it and not worry about me while I stood toe-to-toe with enemies going "grrrrrrr" lol, worked ok too!

When you can't control your triggerhappy casters, mitigate them. XD
I'm just really good at avoiding things lol I always tell the casters not to worry about me and fire whatever they want into melee

I'm glad you weren't too put off by the second verse section. Most people have a fairly visceral reaction to what happens to the princess before being imprisoned. Fortunately, it is the one and only instance of anything like that in all three albums, and the rest of their catalog is firmly PG.
I found Gloryhammer towards the beginning of COVID, and instantly fell in love. So happy to see you enjoying it as well! So many awesome tracks, but my favorites (besides "The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee") have to be "Magic Dragon" and "Apocalypse 1992". Tracks that you might find interesting to review are "Rise of the Chaos Wizards" and "Legend of the Astral Hammer".
