I used to hear this with my father, we loved so much this song... Now he passed away... I read the lyrics and it comforts me in a way... but also it makes me cry a lot.
I am speechless...so beautiful. Sissel is the best. This is the best version of this song. Scenes are beautiful too. Wish I can visit Norway. Peaceful.
Sissel does a wonderful rendition of Solveig's Song from Peer Gynt. I am sure her rendition of this song would awaken Edvard Grieg from his grave. You are truly great Sissel and please give me many more hours of your exceptional talent to listen to.
Happy birthday to my mama Solveig Marie Svarthumle. Born November 3, 1946 today we will be celebrating her birthday with her in spirit for the first time with love
A beautiful song by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg in 1875, and performed by the amazing Sissel. When I listed to Grieg I see fjords and mountains, beautiful streams and fields of flowers. I was born in Norway, not far from Grieg's home. I've been to his home where he wrote much of his music, and all of those things are there when you look out the windows of his studio.
What a great combination - SISSEL, Edvard Grieg, and the stunning landscape of Norway - I love it
I am back again to relax after another quite tough day. I may becoming an addict to this amazing voice. My choir is twinned with a choir in Sarpsborg. I believe we may be hosting a visit by them in 2015, having sung with them recently in Germany.
Since Norwegian and English are both Germanic languages, there are certain words that sound similar and are of the same origin. You can hear this with the word 'winter.'
You're thinking this is not a bad Solveig, then you realize it's a live performance. However I think her earlier Solveig done in national dress with the bad sound (on TH-cam) she never surpassed. It is quintessentially the best Solveig I've ever heard.
Thank you for posting this wonderful lady singing this incredible tune. The You tube clip I have listened to previously where Sissel is dressed in costume, has dreadful sound quality. This is excellent and such gorgeous footage. I hope to visit Norway soon.

In Norweigh the weather is very cold (for me), but this Grieg music so warm. It's unleaving from my favourit music. (sorry for my language)
This Song is a present of the LORD.

And if you wait above, we'll meet there,my friend
