Huge thank you to Aaron and Joe for being so awesome!
If you missed it check out the refret video we did - th-cam.com/video/NRNTUexynqQ/w-d-xo.html
Just bought chambered ash tele body and maple neck with a rosewood board from warmoth this week. Fralin hot tele set and some vintage hardware. To round it out. Once I get it built it’s going straight Glaser. Been wanting to do this for years. So fired up to have a bender. Ask Zac had a great vid on his trip to Glaser as well.
@@edreynolds8721 Actually been wanting to check out the Dusenberg Multibender...
Both my guitars have double benders, Joe installing the one in my hardtail tele and Aaron did my Crook tele. Since Jimmy O is my Favorite player, it was a dream come true to go through this process as you did. Joe and everyone at the shop are just the best. Awesome stuff Robert, thank you.
My main tele is a bender. I hope that one day they’ll be as common as hardtail strats. The dream is for warmoth to add it to their standard body options. Or fender doing a regular Nashville series with a bender.
Would Fender patent their version as the "Fender Bender"? LOL
I wish hardtail strats were “common” i can’t find one that isnt a signature for someone
Haha right, I can find a hard tail strat either
@@MrYatesj1That’s why I made mine. I got the body (mahogany) from Warmoth and settled on fiesta red after doing a couple different finishes. I put in a blender mod and I made a mount for a telecaster bridge pick up so I can get authentic tele tones. The neck is a maple Am Pro II Strat neck. Definitely my favorite of my two Strats that I built, the lightest too at a mere 6.5lbs.
@@Ottophil I have one! I think it is a 2007, not completely sure. It is ash, I believe, natural finish, Maple neck & fretboard. It has a white S/S/S pickguard with a Duncan Little '59 in the bridge and stock single coils in the middle and neck. It is all stock except for the bridge pickup and a set of Dunlop Straplocks (all of my guitars get them). I have an additional black H/S/S pickguard with a full-size humbucker and some custom switching that I can substitute from time to time.
I am really a Les Paul Double Cut guy, but at least one good Strat is imperative for any guitarists arsenal. I love this one!
Aaron put a bender in my Tele yesterday thanks to you! I've been thinking about it for a while, but finally decided to take the plunge after seeing you do it. I'm a fellow 70s/80s rock guy, just down the road in Knoxville. I married a Tennessee girl, so I guess the country influence is finally starting to soak in, haha. Funnily enough, we were killing time at Carter's during the install and you walked in right as we were leaving to pick up the guitar. I was going to say hi, but you turned and started talking to someone else, so I didn't want to interrupt. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration and great video. I didn't get a chance to meet Joe, but Aaron couldn't have been nicer. I called the day before showing up and he still made time to do the install in just a few hours, and then gave me a full tour of the shop when I picked it up. This thing is a blast to play! Highly recommended for any Tele lover!
What did they charge for the bender and the installation? Thanks
I could watch videos of the Glaser folks installing benders all day. They really have engineered not just the bender but the install process to a "T". Love my Glaser bender!
Me too.I watched the one w/Zac’s paisley.
Fascinating! I can’t get over how much this method of adding a bender has simplified the process and reduced the amount of hardware that’s needed. Makes want to get one added to one of my Teles. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Glazer bender. Best in business. Solid, consistent, concise.
Incredibly Interesting!
Loved the workmanship and engineering involved in this installation!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My man whistled when he said "screw".😂16:08
Check out "Diamond Rio" My favorite band for guitar work and vocals. Jimmy Olander is probably one of if not the best live guitarist I've heard. When I heard them every song they played was as perfect as the album. Super tight ! You should get both B & G Bender and try some of his licks !!! He is a MONSTER Guitarist ! I think rockers would even be jaw dropped.
For the record, this may be the coolest video you've ever made. 🤙
This is fantastic! Thanks for making this Robert.
The most satisfying of fender benders
Joe's the best. I have two 90s teles with his older design. Same style as Ricky Skaggs & Steve Wariner have in their Glaser Teles. One has the B & G bender on it & the other just the B bender. Bother still work great which is a testament to Joe's work.
I love that Tele of yours! And that process was great to see. Sounds so cool!!
Love this kind of video deep dive into the history, technology and craftsmanship that goes into the instruments we love. Aaron and Joe are awesome 🤘🎸
This is a rad video. I absolutely love my Brent Mason tele. It’s the closet I’ll ever get to a Glaser tele. I’ve tried long and short throw with both the B and G. I honestly prefer the B bender with medium throw. It’s cool that you can easily swap between them with a Glaser convertible system.
Very cool. Loved the video and it reminded me of some cool field trips from 50 plus years ago.
Man I love these videos! Thanks for sharing, Robert and Aaron!
Check out the Rolling Bender. I just installed a B model on my Nashville tele-shaped-object. No holes in the guitar, just swap out the saddles.
I knew about the Gene Parsons/ Clarence White benders but I didn't know about this type. They seem much easier on the guitar during installation. Now I want one - but I hate tele necks. Time to think about building one...
Wow this is so fascinating and really impressive! I’m pretty blown away by this! Very very cool!
Holy cow, thank you for his video. So interesting to watch! I want to get a kit someday and try to install one myself, this kinda showed me I may be a little out of my league haha!
Great video
I have a B/G bender on my Tele... palm benders, tuned to C6th playing slide
Hi, Welcome to New Zealand,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Mate, that was so interesting, just loved every minute of the video. Thankyou
Very cool! I was all prepared to see him routing out a massive cavity in the back for the old-school type of bender. This type is ingenious! Just curious; does anyone put these benders on anything other than Teles?
That was fantastic! Were any of you guys nervous like I was about the electronics when they were drilling with that mega bit??? 😅
Okay, you convinced me - I’m going to send Glaser my Isbell Telecaster
Have you've seen Jack Whites,custom Tele!Its got a B and G Bender,an electronic,touch sensor,when tapped,on the Control plate,to manually,phase the signal,on and off!Check it Out,if Interested!Theres other features as well!Take care,nah!
Thank you Joe!
I've always been intrigued by how many different bender designs there are. It was cool to see the full install process.
what?! 3 different ones lol? not that many.... you should see the b&w bender
@@weeman333briglio2 I've seen well over 20 different bender designs at this point.
Get ya country on !!!... I want one now... looks amazing Robert, cool video
Enjoyed every minute of that. Nice one dude.
Very interesting and informative video!👍
Your pumped, I would be terrified!😂
Gene Parsons is still here in Mendocino,Ca. Pretty crazy that Joe said he was in Caspar back in the day..same area really.
That is pretty cool. Dose palm muting affect?
Cool to see the process.
This dude is just cool. I wish I were as mellow and cool as this guy.
Nice! Appreciate you sharing this with us! Great video.
glaser's is my go to as well. probably for about 30 years.
That was a great video! Always wondered how they installed them.
Bro I’ve been waiting for this video so jealous of that guitar! Enjoy it brotha
Hope you dug the video man
Awesome video Rob!
That was fun and informative. Thanks
Sweet. Been looking forward to this video.
Amazing. Thanks, Robert!!
Do you ever put them in an acoustic guitars ?
Nathaniel from CME has a couple of acoustic guitar(!) B-bender TH-cam videos (Kashmir and In My Life)... definitely worth checking out to see a bender install on an acoustic guitar.
Wow, what a great video! Robert, you da man!
Very nice aussom job. Welcome to Nashville
How much is one of these jobs including parts and labour? ( Single bender) Can it be done to a thinline?
I've wanted to send my Tele to Glaser for a b bender. The $600 cost is totaly worth it, but all the shipping costs keep me from pulling the trigger. He wants you to ship your guitar in its case which can get expensive, round trip. But I'll eventually do it, I'm sure. It is definitely THE bender to get imo. Have fun with yours, Robert!
Very cool!
Cool video, very educational!!
Welcome to the club!
Take a q-tip and dip it in some acetone and you can remove the superglue with ease but be careful and don’t get the acetone on your finish but if your finish is poly the acetone won’t damage it if you wipe it off right away but if you have a lacquer finish it might damage your finish
I'm trying to figure out if this could djent. I'm kind of addicted to weird musical ideas. Gonna throw a Kahler tremolo on a J-Bass once I have the funds.
I'm not really into country music, but I really appreciate this video!
I'd love to have that done to a Tele!
What's that song at the start playing whilst in the car? Sounds awesome.
I’m waiting for a ‘fly by wire’ Bender series. You pull on the strap and it signals a string pull without the routing.
There has to be a way to mass produce a Bender series!
What would bend the string??
Should have got the Apollo G&B bender replacement bridge then you wouldn’t have needed to violate your beautiful Fender tele like that. Installs without a single re-route or modification of any kind and does both G and B
How come you didn’t just use the long drill to start with ?
Is that like a g string?
Best design yet
@Robert Baker ???Did you relocate to Tn, and what made you choose G over B???
Yep we moved down to Nashville I’m May :). I went with a G over a B just because all my favorite players used G benders so it was the sound I was more familiar with
Somebody make a G tuner...
😂
Glaser should sell tele bodies with the bender(s) preinstalled.
11:00 - "I just didn't want to lose all that wood" ? Tell me how losing a third of the wood in the neck joint is better than losing any amount of wood in the body - that's where all of the vibration transfer is happening? Isn't that what all the arguments about "tonewood" and "resonance" start? (if you are into that discussion)
Don't get me wrong - I think Glaser's design is genius - especially the quick change feature for converting B to G.
Well you live in Nashville now, you have to have a bender. 🙂
I’m sorry, where is this place at?
Sweet!
DANG THATS MAJOR SURGERY
I love playing a B-bender, never used the G-bender.
“Stayed in tune enough for a Cali. band”😂🤣
I can't believe that he is as old as his stories date him to.
More proof that you should spend as much time dong what you love as is possible.
Wonder what it cost 💲
It's like the country floyd rose
That’s crazy, I would buy a Tele with a b-bend but I would never add one
Hab b bender 20 years ago but g bender should be cool
Surprised you went with the g instead of a b bender
I have seen B benders but I have never seen a G bender.
Under the knife in a big way
Wow...
😂 pretty cool 🔥👍
Ok. I need a bender in the worst way
rob rob robert rob rob robby
6 A.M. And Already The Boy Ain't Right
It's a Gender Bender😮
If it is a gender bender the Government would pay to have it done!
Grab yourself a Vega Trem. They have a Strat style trem and a Tele style and they’re all great.
OK, but that's not a bender.
@@1man1guitarletsgo Correct. It’s better 😉
god bless that poor luthier as he has to awkwardly navigate his woorkshop with robert over his shoulder the whole time with his iphone, i would not be as patient
These guys are total champs for puttign up with me. And I wish it was just my phone its a full camera with a lens constantly in their way.
You should try Rolling Bender instead- soo much cheaper and easier to install
Chew gum much??
First
The guitar is NOT even mine and I am tensed up the whole process of drilling. Man, I couldn't watch it in the same room. Sorry.
Just when I thought guitarists could create anymore. Useless shit. Bingo
Dude I've been bending my G for forty years, something like that would just get in the way...
Do a full step pre-bend and play it with a volume swell! 😉 I bend strings all the time (over 50 year's) but my pre-bends are always perfect!
why not just bend string with finger
.Great question. Some situations when you're play a chord you wouldn't be able to bend the string. It also has a slightly different sound then when you bend with your fingers im noticing.
I don’t care if Dean survives until they formally apologize for their actions towards Dimebag Darrell. I always loved their guitars but after the way they handled that situation I stopped paying any attention to them.
Oh no murdering a tele 🙄
Always thought it’s such a shame to screw over an original Fender guitar just so it can do one stupid little trick that’s not even really worth all the trouble. What a shame 😢
