I have an FJ and I've been stuck, pulled out once, and pulled a Jeep out. So I'm 1 for 1. 😅 Honestly I'd say the best mods are tires, 3 inch lift kit, front bumper, and lights. Great video 👍
Best mod you can do on a 4x4 is suspension. By far the best mod on my 2018 4Runner has been my Billstein 6112s in the front and Billstein B8 8100s with rear bypass. I have not bottomed out once since installing them and am able to go excess of 60mph on dirt
I wish you would put link for your front light, and all the other things you have on your FJ. I love your car but I don’t know where to purchase these items you have .
1) I use my roof rack for a cargo box full of 💩 with no problem 2) My camp kitchen is 2 boxes and a stove, hardly your over exaggeration of 30 minutes to pack & unpack
Help plzzz.. I have a 07 cruiser with a Lod rear bumper that the company no longer makes. With that being said, I am trying to fabricate a receiving hitch to attach to the Lod bumper. Any suggestions or knowledge on if the bumper itself bolts right into the frame or if Lod drills their own holes? Diagrams, measurements always welcome.. thanks
@OutboundIntent I looked into it some. The best way I've seen to wire them in is to splice the positive line from the running lights into the existing DRL wire on the male plug for the headlights and then run the grounds to the chassis. Mine are all wired into one positive wire and one ground, and I believe that's where my problem is. If you wire it into the wrong positive, it will cause fluctuations in power, which causes the flicker.
I’ve thought of that too but typically I’m only running two cans. So with the locked rotopax mount, it’s not an issues. Plus you physically can’t siphon gas out because there is a screen that stops anything from going into the tank.
How are the headlights holding up? I see mixed reviews on the DNA motoring ones. I bought a 2012 over the weekend and replacing the lights are on my list of immediate hardware upgrades
Not very well… I will be installing a pair of Freedom Outfitters V4 headlights in next week. The DNA Motoring Halos flicker and the lense puts out a weird beam pattern that makes visibility worse. I’ll have a video up about it within the next month or two!
@@OutboundIntent took a look at them and damn, if i wanna get those before they stop producing them i better start saving last week! Ill probably end up getting the Spyder headlights and tinting the blinkers along with it to save some cash. I like how they make the fj look unimpressed at whatever's ahead of it. Like a deadpan glare lol.
Im against off road bumpers on the fj of course they look better but they’re averagely heavy so it’ll but extra drag and sluggish performance on road cause the fj cruiser is part time 4wd
What did I miss?
Skid Plates for sump and trans, UHF for comms and interior LED light upgrade coz the stock lights are terrible in the dark.
Couldn’t agree more 👊🏼
Snorkel
getting ready to buy a 2012 FJ tomorrow. Nice info in this vid!
Cool video . Good info for the Newbie FJ owners.
Thank you 👊🏼
Which Smitty bumper model is this?
Good on ya young fella. Love your passion. You're gettin out there and that's all that matters.
From an old bloke from downunder👍
Thank you sir, glad you enjoyed
From one old bloke to another, I’m from Frankston, Melbourne.
Do you have an FJ?
Where are you located ?
@@peterkouvelis7457Yes, 2014 FJ, white. Kalamunda, WA. 👍
Your videos are so top quality! I would add a rear bumper with a tire carrier.
Hey thanks man, means a lot!
FJ has a tire carrier already. So why would that be top 10
Links to front bumper and rotopax mount?
Interesting looking “flare delete”.. any more info on that?
I like the metal guard on the lights, almost not noticable, I belive it is steel and looks great
Yup the lighted integrated into the bumper work great!
@@OutboundIntent
How can I get one of those headlights ?
I have an FJ and I've been stuck, pulled out once, and pulled a Jeep out. So I'm 1 for 1. 😅

Keep going, waiting your next Mod Videos!
More coming soon!
Top 5 are upper control arms, lift, sliders, wheels/ tires and a lot of gas.
Solid suggestions 👊🏼
Modified control arms serve little purpose unless you want more than a 2" lift which would require better control arms for wheel alignment

I'm running those Nitto's 295/75/16 on my stock trd rims and love them
Where did you get the fuel tank Mount and the tank ?😊
These Rotopax were mounted on a mount from Refined Cycle and Off-road… very impressive mount so far!
@@OutboundIntent thanks . Can i get from Amazon or ebay by link pls
how big can the rear tire be so it doesnt block the rear window opening?
Good video man. Keep it up bud.
Solid build! I dig no fenders
Thank you man 👊
I wish you would put link for your front light, and all the other things you have on your FJ. I love your car but I don’t know where to purchase these items you have .
Kinda wonder if you could do a video comparing your FJ and a k2500
1) I use my roof rack for a cargo box full of 💩 with no problem

Glad you are able to fit it all up there!

@outboundIntent I have the same headlights as you in my FJ. Do you know what causes the flicker in the white LED trim lights?
Unfortunately no... the FJ's are doing the same thing so I am tempted to upgrade and get the Freedom Outfitter V3 headlights and markers...

Add a baja rack, fits perfect in the stock rack.
Why not gone for the Nylon winch rope ?
That is on the list 👊🏼 it definitely needs changed
Id do the external fuel tank setup like yours but idk about you but in my area, people are definitely stealing that fuel 😂

@@OutboundIntent True won’t stop tweakers from drilling into though 😐
What Spare tire mount are you using?? Looks like its supported on the rear door hinge?
Just running the stock tire mount that’s on the door! What your probably seeing is my rotopax mount that attaches to the hinge
cmon man, chirps the stock look! then proceeds to black out the Toyota grill to say Yo hahahahahaha
Got me there 🤷🏻♂️
Make sure to include the front hitch with the bumper!
True!
Where did you buy your headlight assembly? Thank you
Got it from DNA Motoring Halos... I cannot recommend it as they flicker and apparently this is a common issue.
I bought a great, very functional roof rack from ARB
I was looking at those… they are very tempting

Reeeeeee
What is the overall cost of the mods?
You're looking at 1k-3k
@@Potato-mu7nu not too bad
no fenders?
Nope, previous owner removed them and I kind of dig the look
‘YO’ pretty much told me everything I needed to know before watching this video lol
What area are you in? I'm also in the east coast with a fj like yours.
I am located in PA, how about yourself?
FJ! ✌🏼
Only the best vehicle made 💪🏼
I just got an 07 with 60k miles and 0 rust!!!
mine is a 2011 - 131,000 km (i know...lol) and zero rust.
What year is your fj?
2011
❤
Don’t get a tent don’t do it get a ground tent - RTT owner of 4 years lol
Top 5 mods u don’t need
Reeeeee
Don’t need if you plan on only pounding pavement like the city slicker you are
Boooo boring 😅
Should've bought a bronco instead if they're so ugly.
Where did you get the fuel tank Mount and the tank ?😊
