Holbox is a place where everyone can live in harmony with nature.
Isla Holbox, pronounced "hole-bosh" is an island north of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, in Quintana Roo State. It's part of the Yum Balam Nature Reserve which is home to pelicans and flamingos at Punta Mosquito, season is between April and October, getting to the flamingos isn't super easy, but the walk is beautiful.
The car-free island, between the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, is rich in marine life such as sea turtles and whale sharks the biggest fish in the world, come every year to visit Holbox season is between June-September, you can swimming in bioluminescence waters during the summer and fall season at Punta Cocos.
This video will guide you how to get to the family friendly island and will show you the beauty of the sandbank where you can walk along the 4 mile sandbar beach surrounded by turquoise waters of Caribbean.
This island reminded me of the Gilis island in Lombok, Indonesia, if you're Indonesian living in the US and missed Gili Trawangan, this is the perfect closer alternative.

We just booked for 1 night only in MADRE, we booked to other hotel because we want to spend more at the beach and price more expensive 🙂

Jus went last month. Very beautiful. Beaches are beautiful. But the food was horrible. Was expecting something more mexican. Most restaurants not even own by local Mexicans. Will i go again. Yes. But not for the food or the mexican experience. None are there.
