    OMG the bread and pizza looked so good. The smell of cooking the freshly baked bread just brings back childhood memories. The handmade animals are so cute. A gift filled with love. You and the Mrs are a great team. A nice update.

    You are correct- the heat on the flour over rose the loaf.
    Great honest review of the machine I've wanted for years. Had a cheap Oster that was so so.
    Been putting it off since I love making bread by hand for over 50 years but my old body doesn't like it so may look into it again. Thanks.

      Using fresh ground flour definitely is a learning experiment but the breadmaker works great. I didn't bother putting a link to the mill because it really puts a lot of heat in the flour making me wonder if it's harming the benefits of fresh grinding your own so I'm not going to recommend it at the price. My wife can't stand at the counter kneading and making it by hand anymore so this machine is a really good option for us. Thanks for watching.

    I bought one of those bread makers 5 years ago and was so impressed with it I bought my mom the same model a year later under her and my dad's protest of not needing another gadget. Now she makes at least a loaf of bread a week and she tells me it is so simple and it just works so well. I bought her a digitial scale so all she does is put the pan on the scale and then measures out the ingredients without dirtying a lot of measuring cups and spoons.

      We have made about 2 loaves a week so far and love this machine. Making a batch of bagels every week also now. It is a great machine. Thanks for watching.

    Hi 👋, URHC , I hope you are both keeping safe and well, That looks very tasty 😋, I like the way you can just do one of the recipes out of the book and then just press the setting that is corresponding to it. I think that is very good I dear, so all preset,
    I hope you’re feeling a lot better , look forward to seeing your next adventure, 😂, stay safe, Phil from the moulin

      Thanks, we are doing pretty good now. It's a wonderful machine with pre-programmed recipes plus you can add programs for your favorites. Fresh ground wheat does take some experiments to figure out. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for watching.

      There are several. This one creates a lot of heat in the flour so I am not sure if it's the best choice for keeping the nutrition. My big Vevor is my favorite and the flour comes out much cooler. Thanks for watching.

    Over the last 40+ years I must have owned close to 20 breadmakers. This Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA (my second Zo) is UNDOUBTEDLY the best. I always measure my flour in grams, everything else by volume for an EXACT amount. 9Try weighing out 4 C of flour and weighing it in grams (a much finer measurement than cup or lb & oz). Works perfectly for me every time. The disadvantage (for some) is that it only bakes 2lb loaves.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we should measure but hard to change a wife that has gone by volume for all her life. We use a little less home ground flour because it weights slightly more then the stotr stuff. Letting the fresh flour cool seems to have solved all our problems and it's an awesome machine. Thanks for watching.

    Looks wonderful-glad you're enjoying it. I have my MIL's West Bend and the 2# capacity combined with a standard loaf shape makes a big difference. I play fast and loose with the recipes but it's pretty forgiving. I add a multigrain cracked cereal a little extra water plus some seeds and get a nice whole multigrain loaf. Lots of fun to play.
    Happy to see you're healing nicely. Thanks for posting.

      Next loaf will have 7 grain cereal in it. The 2 pound size is nice because it almost fits the toaster. They finally have this years rye berry crop in so next week we are running down for a bag to try. The fresh grains have awesome flavor. Eyes are doing good now and hopefully in 4 weeks I can get glasses for computer work. Thanks for watching.

    I’ve had a West Bend 2lb capacity bread maker for years…I love mine too…sometimes I just let the machine do it all until after the 1st rise and do the rest manually in the over. I won’t be grinding my own flour though…that’s a little more than I want to get into but I’m enjoying your journey 😊

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do that with this one also. We started grinding after reading about the processing and additives of store bought flour. Thanks for watching.

    Sounds like some tasty grain bread. Oh nice, got the fireplace going already. I wish! Here in Ks it's 80's today and tomorrow. Will be glad when it drops. Your wife's crocheted animals are always so adorable! Maybe you could cover & set the ground grain outside to cool off for a while. Have a great rest of the week.😊🍂

      It's really good. Evev the mistakes taste great. We were 87 degrees last week and now cold and rainy. Wood heat feels great on the arthritis. She loves making those animals to donate to organizations for kids in need. I don’t trust the barn cats from across the street that are constantly searching for anything edible so just wait. That little mill really gets the flour hot. Hopefully you cool down soon. Thanks for watching.

    Hi Ed ...Hope you both are doing Ok. All the Zojirushi models supposedly make great bread. I bought their small size (one pound capacity) several years ago but haven't used it for a some time. Your video gives me some inspiration to start making homemade bread .. I used to make banana bread fairly frequently and it turned out very well. Take care

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, we are doing pretty good now. You should dig it out. We liked the pound cake recipe but haven’t tried the banana bread yet. Only costs about 75 cents to make a loaf with electric and ingredients so there will be good payback at current bread prices. Thanks for watching.

    I am using a similar machine a lot. The fastest way to mix is to put the pan on the weight and add all ingredients- very fast🤓

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that's the fastest and most precise way but my wife has done it by volume for years and im not going to try and change her now. Thanks for watching.

    This looks really good! It's been a while since I made bread, and have never ground my own wheat for bread. Would freezing the wheat berries help with the heat of grinding or would it create condensation problems? I keep most of our flours in the freezer anyway, 8 cats and we still have mice issues about twice a year...and they go for flours first (especially rye for Swedish Limpa).

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure if freezing would help. I think the stones are tiny and grind by friction so they get hot and transfer the heat to the flour. Luckily no mice yet and there's really no way they could get into the root cellar where the grains are stored. Thanks for watching.

      They are ball 1/2 gallon canning jars with the ball plastic seal lids. I make all my labels with a cameo 4 and vinyl label sheets. Draw them up and print on my inkjet then put them in the cameo 4 to cut out. Waterproof labels in seconds and they are removable. This is the vinyl I like best amzn.to/3RXpUGs andthis is the Cameo 4 I use amzn.to/3RZ9EVd but any vinyl cutter with print and cut will work. Thanks for watching.

    HAHA I thought you were plum all out of room in your kitchen? HAHA. Looks like a fine machine. I would gain 10 lbs. a week with all those grains and home-made breads. You will need a bigger belt with your bigger toaster pretty soon. LOL. Enjoy.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are out of room but expanding into the basement. Starting to clean up the old kitchen down there along with giving away old stuff we no longer use. With plain old white bread at $4 to $5 a loaf now and all the additives in processed flours we decided to give this a try. Just bought a pair of old man stretch pants and ready for the consequences. Cooking bread is the best natural house deodorizer ever so it serves multi purposes. Hope you are all caught up with the garden and outdoors work. Thanks for watching.
