This study struck me as very poorly constructed. My late husband taught me how to interpret clinical studies’ results ( he was a research scientist, Endocrinology prof at University of Michigan) and he would have laughed at this and then rolled his eyes at who paid for it and the conclusions they had reached-and how they reached them.Thank you for your thoughtful and cautious examination of this report, Dr Osborne. (I think the meta-analyses revealed far more interesting and valuable data. )
I have lots of l health issues which are mostly hereditary, having just finished my 2nd course of chemo treatmentI was told by my dr not to take over the counter meds. They say that meat and dairy cause skin cancer. They are doing everything they can to steer people away from good health. I couldn’t believe it when I was googling what causes skin cancer and right there in google was meat and dairy. How would they even know that. Nobody knows what causes anything because they don’t have hundreds and thousands of people caged up, eating only one thing for 50 years+ to see how their body reacted. Funny how they don’t mention anything about the now 72 💉required before the age of 15 and the effects of that toxicity on the human body. It’s all just a guess but I can tell you this when you look at pictures from the 1930s and the 1940s and the 1950s all the way up until the 1980s nobody was obese until AFTER the FDA butted in and started telling people what to eat with their ridiculous pyramid and their seed oils!! Yeah, I’m gonna go grab me some Lucky Charms because it’s much better for me than a nice steak or bacon and eggs!😮
There are so many studies regarding Omega 3 & the benefits from taking it are great! I’m so glad I saw your video. I recently watched a couple of other videos on this study that scared me about A fib risk. I recently started an Omega 3 supplement, (Triglyceride form, 2gms/day) and was considering discontinuing it. Rather than that, I did cut back to half dose of approximately 1gm/day. I also try to eat fish and sardines but can only do so much of that. Beef is not an option since we don’t really like it. Definitely will do the omega index to see where I am. Hello, Dr. Osborne; Thank you, sir, for trying to clarify this. I think the study was designed to be 'anti-fish oil'. I saw the study mentioned "ethyl esters". I just watched your video on estrogen dominance. I started estradiol patches when I was premenopausal, first 0.025mg, up to 0.50mg, and I took it off yesterday. I’ve gained weight (I used to be 120lbs and now I’m 159lbs). I had my serum labs tested: estrogen, progesterone (it was low at 0.6), T3 and T4 both WNL. My testosterone is high, I’ve never had PCOS. I asked for a fasting AM cortisol and DHEA. Cortisol normal, DHEA was 200. LabCorp did the labs. I don’t have my uterus but still have my ovaries. I had terrible endometriosis which another doc said could be a sign of estrogen dominance. I’m 50 and I still have thick hair, good skin, etc. I’m scared I have a tumor on my ovary because I do feel a dull ache in my RLQ (I don’t have an appendix either). I take magnesium, Omega 3s, probiotics, collagen, and turmeric. I eat a lot of protein. I go for an ultrasound soon. Can ovarian fibroids cause this? I’m a chemotherapy nurse and used to mix the stuff with proper PPE, but I later found out the hood I mixed it in wasn’t venting adequately ☹️ Edit: I also have swelling in the morning and at night
I'm curious... black seed oil is suppose to be really good for you... yet I've noticed that it contains primarily Omega 6 and 9 oils very little 3... It is said to help a lot in Hashimotos and I'm finding it does raise my body temperature and seem to help... Are there BSO's that have more Omega 3 in them and why would 6 & 9 aid Hashimotos?
Black seed oil contains thymoquinone, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It is not a replacement for fish oil because, as already stated, it contains very little alpha linoleic acid (omega 3). That doesn't mean it isn't beneficial however. Black seed oil can help with asthma, hayfever allergies, pain management and many other complaints.
Nature is complex. Human being is also a complex cellular supramolecular system. Interactions between various molecular subsystems are never simple. Omega fatty acids exemplify that situation very well. Omega-6 has positive effects on heart health! Omega-6 fatty acids may help protect the heart from erratic rhythms and reduce the risk of heart disease or stroke. They also lower levels of triglycerides in the blood. Omega 6 possess also anti-inflammatory properties. While omega-6 fatty acids are often associated with inflammation, they also contain compounds that can have anti-inflammatory effects! Some studies suggest, however, that consuming too many omega-6 fats could lead to inflammation, potentially worsening conditions like arthritis. Modern diets often have a high omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, which may not be optimal for health. A more balanced intake is considered beneficial. It's important to consume omega-6 fatty acids in moderation and as part of a balanced diet that also includes omega-3 fatty acids to maintain good health. So, it may be worth to consider black cumin (seed) oil instead of (fake?) fish oil as a source of omega fatty acids or use a mix of those sources
