I worked on all models of British, Italian and German cars when I was in high school in Dallas. MG, Austin, Lotus and Morgan and Alfa Romeo were my favorites. This brought back a rush of memories.
Haven't seen any Bugeyes restored to original, only modified. They are better drivers, but have lost the bare bones flavor of the originals. You have to be brave to drive an original 948cc Sprite as transportation. Speaking as a former owner in the '60s.
