Great reaction. Swan song with Chopin intro live 2020 is a MUST. When a heavy metal song begins with a classical piano piece, you know it's going to be a MASTERPIECE. Any of their live videos from KAHG '23 show that are on their YT site. Liar, M.D.O., Nameless Warrior, Stand And Deliver, their old stuff...doesn't matter with this band. They are fantastic and their entire catalog is elite musicianship. 🤘
"The Hammer of Wrath" was the opening track to this concert. Here's another thrashy song you can check out - "Set the World on Fire" LIVE on their official channel. BTW, Lovebites will be performing the US leg of their world tour on : (1) September 6, at ProgPower XXIII, Atlanta, Georgia (sold out) (2) September 8, at Cambridge Room at House of Blues, Dallas, Texas (3) September 10, at Echoplex, Los Angeles, California (4) September 12, at Café Du Nord, San Francisco, California (2), (3), (4) - tickets went on sale from June 3. Even more shows might be announced later, so watch this space.
Incredible, tremendous, wonderful. They have revolutionized heavy music, and they are here to stay. For quality, for talent, for perfection, for aesthetics, for beauty. The out-of-range M&M, the engines Haruna and Miho (now Fami) and the master of ceremonies and beautiful voice, the most beautiful heavy singer in the world, my beloved Asami. They all make an explosive and wonderful cocktail. I love them.
This song is the opener for the show, the previous two tracks on the Blu Ray are a kind of prologue. This is the first time on stage with the band for 'new girl' Fami on Bass who in 2022 had replaced founder member Miho after she left the band in 2021 for personal reasons. Fami was 20 when she joined Lovebites and was still at University. She has her own YT channel that has near 700,000 subs. This was her biggest audience to date. You can see from her huge grin that she is having a blast. 😁🐺
LOVEBITES - The Hammer Of Wrath lyrics: What's the worst way to die? Burning to death, or drowning? It's hard to pin down what genre Lovebites plays because they combine elements of a lot of different ones together. Just put it down as classic heavy metal - the best there is. Midori and Miyako are one of the greatest metal guitar duos of all time. They work so well together, almost as if they are just one guitarist.
Thanks for your reaction. 'The Hammer of Wrath' is definitely thrash metal: a fast tempo, threshing rhythm (drums), typical thrash bass, shredding riffs, fast guitar solos. You can also check out other thrash songs by LOVEBITES, for example: 'Break the Wall', 'The Apocalypse', 'Thunder Vengeance', 'Paranoia', 'Set the World on Fire', 'M.D.O', 'Dissonance', 'Winds of Transylvania'. LOVEBITES add something of their own to thrash songs, decorate them with various elements: oriental motifs (as you noticed in 'The Hammer of Wrath' ), symphonic intro (in 'Paranoia'), a guitar solo in the style of Gary Moore and organ sounds (in 'Break the Wall'), slide guitar (in 'The Apocalypse'), a classical piano and melodic guitars solos (in 'Winds of Transylvania').

Lets imagine we are Fami. This is the first notes she has ever played for Lovebites on stage, the first notes she has ever played for such a crazy audience. Then Asami shouts: "We aaaaaaaare baaaaaAAACK!" and off it goes. Maybe we should be a bit nervous and feeling some kind of magic! She is only 20 here after all. Do you remember when you were 20? Lots of things were more magic back then.
Only because of the song "Judgement Day" came along, this song had a short run of being my all-time favorite song. Of the many performances of this song, this version is the best. Part of it is because of the importance of this performance as it's officially the first live song Fami played with Lovebites. The look Asami gives to Fami is awesome. I suggest you react to the official music video for "Stand and Deliver". I guess that the middle-eastern vibes would come from some Rainbow influences. Miyako cites Ritchie Blackmore as a favorites, still, the song is a composition of Miho and Mao.
It's a funny thing, but with The Warning or Band Maid, it always takes a while before my ears become acclimatised to what they are doing, but with this band I'm tuned in immediately and I want to hear what they've got. That said, this one was a little too thrashy for me, but still has that classic sound.
