I live in Kingman....The pros are affordable housing and beautiful scenery...The Cons are constant wind and fewer shopping choices....Schools are below the national average and medical care is subpar....I will be moving to beautiful Tuscon next year...

I've heard about Kingmans racist reputation. I'm not worried about it. I've visited the city for years, and not once has anyone made me feel that way. They will have to tolerate me as well cause Kingman here I come LOL!

Most everybody seems friendly and outgoing. Its a small town but I love it.I have driven through Phoenix.Too much like California. Folks here tend to be conservative. Lots of American flags and guns. Not much crime to speak of.Its pretty laid back. Welcome to Kingman.
@ lifelongpatriot3695 My son moved there a few years ago and said the same. My grand daughters mom also moved from Cali to Kingman and hasn't seen anything racist. It's OK . Hopefully, I'll be working from home and will never really have to deal with anyone. Regardless, anything is better than downtown Phoenix ugh. I was born and raised here in Arizona, and I'm done with Phoenix.
Stay out of Butler and the neighborhood known as Bird land. Also don't dig into people's personal business while visiting. The native Kingmanites don't care who or what you are just mind to own affairs and you will do well.

Currently moving out of my $3,300 a month 3 bed 2 bath 900 sqf home in commiefornia to a 3 bed 2 bath 2,000 sqft home in kingman for $1,300 a month. I can’t wait! Just the fact that I’ll be in a conservative state for the first time in my life makes me excited. Time to save some money and thrive instead of barely survive.

I called Kingman Arizona home for 22 months from August 11th of 2009 till June 3rd 2011. When I stepped off the Greyhound bus at about 2:30 am it was 102 degrees Fahrenheit. I rather enjoyed the 100 plus degree days. When I lived there it was like a ghost town. Kingman Arizona is not for the weak snowflakes that can't handle desert living upon the Colorado Plateau. I used to walk down on the arroyo in Powerhouse Canyon in 110f weather.

Just keep going. Ok, you could stop for gas and maybe a burger. Don't stay there, don't look at the scenery, just keep going. They have tried to pretty it up some but, you know about dressing up ugly things. GLAD I"M NOT LIVING THERE ANYMORE!!!!!

Bad part about Tucson is full of leftists. Better choice is Sierra Vista.
Lot of crime in Kingman also that bleeds out into surrounding communities.
