Koreans are criticizing them by believing a false narrative that they are Anti-Korea which was spread out when they debuted. So fans had to correct it and defend them. We don't care if they are called K-pop or J-pop or Asia pop. It's just music at the end of the day.
The question of whether XG is considered K-pop is no longer relevant. However, I think Koreans could consider this from a different perspective: XG chose to promote their music in Korea, which shows the significant influence of the Korean market. Why not openly accept XG and take pride in your country's K-pop industry?
On point! I think it should be a point of pride for Korea that foreign investment wants to not only throw money at their own domestic groups but produce their own in Korea! It's a testament to the production quality that Korean companies put out. It's a huge compliment to their industry, I believe.
