My goodness people, it's the first game. Give them time! They are replacing a lot. It's not like the team up north lite up the scoreboard.
I hear you, but we’re Ohio State. The expectations are to high to mess up and use the excuse of “it’s the first game” players come to Ohio State to win a National Championships and head to the NFL nothing less. McCord was a five star recruit and he played like a back up still. He needs to wake up and realize he’s the starter.
Go Bucks...but let's be honest, pitiful execution on offense....1st game or not the talent level here is top 5 in the country...did you watch Colorado game, was there 1st game as well and they played with there hair on fire... Buckeye looked like they were not motivated at all..maybe it's coaching, but it's definitely something...but wtf do I know.
Replacing a lot? OSU is returning damn near everyone except the QB and o-line spots.
@mitchvalentine9988 3 new online starters, 3 other new players at their position new QB I'd say a 20 point win vs. a big10 team is pretty darn good. But like the old saying opinions are like buttholes we all have them. Go, Buckeyes!
Still, to many missed short yardage situations.
Buckeyes MAJOR problem is BAD COACHING
I do hope we will see more of Dallan Hayden and Evan Pryor in the running game. Our whole Running Back room is full of talent. I definitely want to see Hayden running the ball more and see him getting more snaps and share of the running load.
I'd love to see Pryor be a return man. Don't think it will happen.
@@ArrivedStoned yeah, I wouldn’t mind seeing that as well. But you’re most likely right. I don’t anticipate that happening.
The most concerning thing is the lack of execution against Indiana. I get the vanilla play calling to have the OL mesh and keep it simple for the QB’s to start against live competition. No excuse why they couldn’t get about 10-15 plays run repeatedly with some wrinkles sprinkled in and look good against a team like Indiana. I’m not as down on McCord as others seem to be. He moved better than expected in the pocket. Checked down a bit much but did try to stretch the field with some passes. I think he’ll get more aggressive in the next couple games. First time starting, new line…, I get just focusing on completing passes and moving the ball. Not sure why they let the MLB and DE consistently dominate and come in unblocked entirely too often.
The offense felt clunky but yet Day didn’t even give Devin Brown a real opportunity to play. It wasn’t Devin Brown’s fault that on the 3rd and short yardage run play that he got tackled by the time he touched the ball. Day owes Devin Brown an apology
On the road, in conference, got the WIN! Plus their looking at game film now, not practice film! Go Bucks!
0:56 4 and 2 look at OL hint hint
If you're gonna let a person play, let him do his thing, don't tell him to hand the ball off let him run it, see what he has, then grade him. By run it I meant run plays not for him to run the ball.
I'd like to see Devin Brown more too. lol
Usually you go 3 and out when you just run up the middle for 3 straight plays
This game went torturingly slow for all the OSU fans 🤔
It was 120° on the field at the Colorado game, and that didnt affect them
Starting to think it's coaching at OSU...where was the Playoff Coach Day at??? Thought we were going to see that, 1st game or not...good thing they didn't play Colorado, for sure could've been a L. Hats off to effort by Colorado players, didn't quit at all
Starting to have trouble supporting his decisions!
Day has most predictable telegraphed running plays in all of CFB - it’s been a problem and has NOT been addressed‼️
Ryan Day is one of the best play callers in the country.. He is seeing if we can win the line of scrimmage on some of those basic runs plays and we didn’t. He had a rough showing against Michigan last year but other than that he is elite. Just didn’t play well.
DRAMA QUEEN much? AT NO point was OSU in "trouble" with IU. If you can't tell that the staff knew that and were INTENTIONALLY working on some things to have the film to break down with the players then you need to find a new hobby because you don't know squat about the game. Playcalling doesn't even make the list of things that need shoring up!
The only thing that needs to change is we recruit to be a passing team. Use the pass to set up the run. Is it backwards? yup but it’s what we recruit to do. So.. do it. Defense held us down we haven’t said that in 2 years so good start. Stop wanting to win by 60. We would’ve loved to beat UGA by 2. Enjoy the season guys! Go Bucks!
Ty good read, they say should see improvement 2nd game but we won't see where we're at till game 3 Before the ND game in their backyard.
How do you pull Devin Brown for going 3 and out after calling 3 run plays. If McCord is your guy just say that. Don’t say that both QBs will play and pull that shit. Day seems like he has no backbone. Would have been nice to at least see what Devin Brown could do after hearing how he was dominating the qb competition in camp
Couldn't agree more. His answers are complete bs and so were his play calls and not playing Brown more when McCord was terrible. Just wow.
Ryan day needs to let his offense coordinator make the calls.
We have so many entitled and fair weather fans
They gotta give brown a chance man
We should have thrown 3 INTs and against better defenses we will...had guys wide open and he threw it into double/triple coverage. Ill be optimistic and say he will improve but today? Didnt see very much good about mccords vision and decision making
We as fans have gotten so rotten spoiled but as a fan of 46 years, beating Indy by 23 I will take that all day. They always have played us tough, these front runner brats don’t understand history, just what they see on ESPN and you tube and then feel like they talk shit.
We have 10 more 5 Stars and 43 more 4 stars. We're not spoiled. We have 2 NC in 50 years.
@@bucknutOH agreed! Coaching...just my .02
Coach Day is so much smarter than the knuckleheads complaining about him and his team. Nothing good will happen with negative fans and vibes. Come on people, the season goes by to fast to start bitching.
Awful play calling awful execution. Good thing it was Indiana not notre dame cause they would have whooped our ass
This core group of Buckeyes are simply not that good - below standard for most Buckeye eras - 3rd straight scUM loss coming up in November
"Ryan Day Ball" soft QBs and poor Oline play. Cant even get 2 yards against Indiana
This is what I warned everyone about for 2 years - horrible OL recruiting last 3-4 years and ‘24 OL class stinks as well - and haven’t been able to get legit Portal OL - it all starts up front and OSU stinks up front‼️
Best receiver in the country had 18yards..says enough. Pitiful.
He also stepped out of bounds on a long TD play. 🤔
What is up with henderson?
Not good offense
Hendy average period and chip better than him and chop and LT is trash I'd play Luke Montgomery there before j Simmons hea garbage
Williams was always the best, Henderson got all those yards 2 years ago against teams like akron but never could run through the line, he is more of a open runner, would had been a better receiver
@@danielduncan3215 Dunno but Chip traynum the best RB ON TEAM THAT I SEE..may be time for Pryor or Hayden get some touches also
@@matthewmiller5194 he did look like a beast today
Blan blah blah - more nonsense coach speak - same game plan as the 4th quarter against Georgia when he played conservative and not to lose
How does it make you feel Coach that the 2 best defensive players on the field today were in Indiana uniforms - nice job letting Indiana get the best DE on the field today in the Transfer Portal, duhhh
23 won’t get you many wins this year
It will 100% of the time if the Defense does what it did to IU.
@@robschaller9061 duh. We gonna hold everyone to 3 points. Indiana offense is horrible. 23 was the lowest points scored in the last 50 years excluding the Clemson playoff 3-31 loss
McCord was not impressive, at all. And Day called 3 run plays when Devin finally got in, did him zero favors. Marv and Emeka combine for 5 catches. Terrible
You are seeing the "PETER PRINCIPAL" in action. What is the "PETER PRINCIPAL" ? It says...."people rise to their level of incompetence" . THIS is where DAY is. Now we will experience its full effects.
😢 Terrible play calling, it is a 3 to 4 lost team this year. Brown should have played
It's like the team only knew 5 plays, and managed to even screw those up 😆
Yet another chucklehead who doesn't even know what they are watching. AT NO POINT was IU going to beat OSU. If you think otherwise you are completely clueless. It was BLATANTLY obvious that the goal became to get game film on areas that the OL needs to work on and improve in.
It's equally clear that McCord wasn't just "the starter for IU." There were flashes but the OL is very much a work in progress.
I cannot deal with Ryan Day and his BIG LINE OF BULLSHIT.. I am over Ryan Day and I hope and pray we eventually move on from him.. Good Coach he might be but he is definitely not a Great Ohio State Football Coach and there is a difference
Day sucks
Buckeyes have looked poor in first games in the past. Look back at Strouds first few games. He played poorly. Bucks will be fine. Let's give Indianas defence some credit! They played solid!
