Appreciate that! Ya this one got a little strategy heavy but I think it’s something that isn’t always so intuitive for no limit players that transition to the other games.
@@CzechRaiseCharles absolutely loved it. I don’t know if it is what’s most popular for poker TH-camrs but it’s one of the reasons why I love your channel so much being how analysis heavy you are. 👌🏻
I really enjoyed your perspective on poker and the concept you talked about today and if you’re in Vegas and you see DGAF tell him I’m rooting for him 👍👍👍
I thought the Rampage hand was so interesting when I first saw it. My thought was, "Man, he's put himself in a pickle" when he limp reraised preflop. I think that deep, out of position, you should just play it straight, raise preflop, and go from there. I'm not sure if he can win the pot that way, and it certainly won't be as big, but it avoids the train wreck that he had. Great vlog and important concepts. Thank you.
Yes my thoughts exactly! If he just raises preflop then maybe Queens three bets and he can just play it straight up against a more defined range. Instead he defined his hand to his opponents and was lost post flop. Really interesting hand for sure :) I’ll bet he’ll only get better and better
Hahaha oh Rayz Rayl...what a debacle. Speaking of you know during the Robinhood shutdown of GME trading he went all the way to their headquarters to protest outside. It was on the news. Also in much sadder news, David the one seat in that vlogger game, passed away yesterday. Just saw it on Twitter :( As for Rampage, I have nothing but love for what he’s doing. He’s great for poker and his content is excellent. I enjoy his other channel too. He’ll only get better at poker over time.
@@CzechRaiseCharles Insert here. That guy had good content, somewhat, for back in the day. But definitely a screw loose. And no, that's sad. I do remember him from being brought in to round out the table. And Uncle Abe passed last week from LATB. No good all around :( Ethan is good. I probably would have folded KK in his spot. Once somebody calls behind with you still left to act, it's so strong. In a shallower game, he makes that call. A bit out of his element playing over his head, but playing his typical high variance, his swings can be huge. Anyway, take care brother. Always fun seeing your content and your kids.
Ahh that wasn’t my purpose. I actually really enjoy his content and think it’s great for poker. Given how fresh he is to the game he’s come a long way. Sure he’s on a heater but I think he’s aware of that. It was just a hand I happened to recently come across that was a perfect example of what can happen when you’re playing really deep and telegraph your holding. I’m sure he’ll only get better with time as he plays more :)
Well said. Just started playing PLO5 & some Hi-Lo on pokerrrr2 app. Definitely an interesting and intriguing game. I think Rampage limp is fine w KK bc if he raises its gonna go 5 ways anyway. I think his sizing should be slightly larger given how deep & I think the flop should be a pretty clear check/call, as well as the turn. Agree w explanation his hand is face up and he’s capped as fuck on that board. Good players will attack that all the time.
Ya if he is going to limp reraise preflop then he needs to go with a bigger sizing since he’s super deep. Still though I like just opening my entire range so that I’m not defining what my likely hand is. As you said if he checks the flop he could likely get to the river depending on what the other two do. Good luck in the pokerrrr2 streets 👍🏼
With the Rampage hand the standard play would be to raise and still get 3 bet by QQ, would you then 4 bet KK? If you don't I'm sure you still go 3 ways and end up confused, if you do and get called I guess you have to go with it through to showdown on any non Ace board? Assuming 5's guy was sticky (which clearly he was), why would we think he would fold to a 4 bet and not a limp 3 bet (which screams AA or KK)?
Depending on sizing of the QQ’s three bet and how comfortable you are playing this deep I’d say we have a number of options. I’d likely 4 bet to thin the field as you mentioned by flatting we allow everyone else in behind us. Sure we once again define what our range looks like, but so has he and so we can continue accordingly in position. I think this hand plays much better heads up than 4 ways and if we are afraid of getting in this much money then we have to reassess why we bought in this deep to begin with. As for whether the pocket 5s guy would fold to a 4 bet...I mean if he wants to call 350+ preflop then so be it 🤷🏼♂️ we now have a much smaller SPR and perhaps just have to go with it on a board like this where there are many draws. The three bettors range looks like TT-QQ/AK and so he shouldn’t have us beat and against the maniac sometimes you just have to buckle in and gamble. No ones saying it’s an easy hand to play but I think Rampage clearly made a couple of mistakes throughout...the preflop limp three bet likely being the least of them.
I've played with you before at Westgate Brad and Andrew game we talked about Boston where im from and where you went to college. I tell everyone you're a good dude. Keep up the vlogs kid
Appreciate that Rich. Man that session seems like a decade ago now haha. How time flies when we’re stuck at home for the better part of a year. Hope you’ve been well and thanks for the high praise.
Excellent analysis of both hands... watched Rampaage and his fellow vlogger’s view of that hand, and believe he had to fold that river.... and he never should have been in that situation to begin with. Let me know if you need more players for the app. I am looking for a new game - old one dried up for the exact reasons you discussed in the intro.
Ya as he played it I would have likely folded the river as well. I think on the flop you have to play it passively and see what develops. It’s quite possible the hand plays much smaller and he could get to showdown if he doesn’t bet twice. As for the apps one of them is private to our local guys. DGAFs podcast has a club as well that’s limited to members of his patreon group. If you subscribe and pay at a certain tier then there’s instructions on how to join. It’s smaller stakes though mostly and the purpose is more for fun and not grinding. I know of a couple other clubs with good action though. If you want hit me up on Instagram DMs and we can share info.
