Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve had the difficulty of feeling like I just don’t have time to study the language I’m learning. Making things I want to do a priority has crossed my mind. You mentioning that you don’t make going out with friends a priority helped me decide that I really want to devote more of my time to learning and setting some priorities straight. Dude, I'm totally related and I wasted too much time not doing nothing and waiting the right moment during my gap year. Now, with full-time job with no 'freetime' I wanna do everything that i missed bc of my laziness.
This is a great observation! I've also noticed that my brain works better when I'm active in some way. It can be as little as a 30 minutes' walk and I start to get some good ideas or solutions for my work. It's probably something simple like "movement -> better blood flow -> better thinking", but I'm no expert. Obviously, when I'm super tired, the brain stops working, because it's cooked 😴😅
working too much and then not working enough, definitely feel that lol. I took 4 days off and stayed in a hotel above a bar, with the goal of doing a whole bunch of german study, but yeah that didn't really work out. Too much free time with no structure is actually hard to deal with
