Used to watch this with Mum. Her cremation is tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this.
Sorry for your loss - condolences to all your family
RIP in peace to your mum and to Virgil 😢😢😢
Loved this as a kid!Thank you for posting!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Richard Stilgoe was one of those celebs that you didn't know why he was (back then)..He just seemed to be in shows....Alot of those around today!
He was a very reliable scource of comuc and musical talent! So, the BBC would often wheel him out if they had a panel game in which he could contribute, or to present a show, possibly involving music too. Far better than the z-list "clebs" you get these days, who are only famous due to being on brain-rot reality TV.
Sarah Greene, with hair looking like it was dried in a Wind Tunnel, is simply stunning.
Wow found this by axident and use to watch this wen I was 7lol
I absolutely loved this program in the mid to late 80's especially uncle the plant that just shuck and made funny noises tv programming at its very finest. I could live in that decade for the rest of my life.
80s British people ❤ the young people already look middle aged ❤
They were born after the last war and grew up in the Fifties and Sixties when things were tough, and they weren't all square-jawed steak-eating Yank supermen of Hollywood's lies.
I wasn't sure how much Stilgoe i could cope with, after just 14 seconds i was struggling..but i battled through it for the nostalgia, now i have PTSD. Thankfully he is in another dimension now...Worth it!
Absolutely loving these uploads. Thank you so much. One of my favourite shows when i was a kid. I desperatly want to go to arg as a kid. I loved all those bbc model b games in the series, great advert by the bbc for their computers looking back at it.
Please keep em coming. They deserve to be historically catalogued online.
You're welcome - thanks for your kind words, glad you enjoy them
i was waiting for the richard stilgoe episode...this man made an appearance on everything in the 70s and 80s,he had a good agent....
I've been trying to find this show for so many years, I remember watching it as a kid and it's always stuck in my mind but could never remember the name of it. For some reason I always thought Sophie Aldred presented it.
Charmian Gradwell has that Sophie Aldred feel and style..Maybe that's why you were thinking of Sophie.
Available on DVD from Amazon
Great show! I can still sing Waltzing Mathilda backwards all these years later.
It’s like a charming version of Saw.
Is it? Gosh.
The shaking plant is my main memory from this thing and the teleporting last game
even after all these years I still know you should never, ever give uncle a sack of salt..a valuable life lesson if ever there was one 🐹
Had a crush on Sarah Greene all my life !
Some serious ‘Something About Mary’ vibes going on with Sarah Greene’s hair in this episode.
Sarah Greene..eye candy for the teens back then..hehe...Ho Hum....feels so long ago...Charmian Gradwell wasn't to shabby.
That trio of games being played at the beginning, I certainly know the last two, Planetoid and Super Invaders (the first one looks like Meteors). These can be played online, courtesy of the BBC Micro Games Archive. The computer was used extensively by the BBC during this show, seen being used by the contestants when navigating the maze, while the Vortex graphics and sound are from the same machine. Someone, somewhere has the original Vortex code ready to rise again!
Asteroids,space invaders and defender
Charmian ♥️
Who would have thought, all these years later, we'd be paying significant cash to do this same stuff in the guise of "escape rooms"?
Hi Rusty. Don't suppose you have digital copies of the adventure game episodes you might be able to share with me?
Sarah greene was well fit
Don't remember this incarnation of The Adventure Game at all.
The RANGDO didn't do very well in The Vortex did he
Just worked out how annoying Richard Stilgoe was
Goodness me they come across as so dumb.
Also the game with the shapes on the ground made no sense as for asking the kids - was everyone on acid that day?
