    Loved watching this idea evolve, and how you worked out the kinks in the process! So inspiring! Can't wait to see the finished product! 😊 Have lots of hummers here with the 4 hummingbird feeders that I refill almost daily. I'm sure they would love to have a nice bath like this as well. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!!

    Oh how I wish I could build one by hand...I'm not a wheel thrower!! I already have the solar pump and plastic tubing I bought earlier this Spring '23...for a hummer shower that I hadn't gotten around to..maybe a good procrastination this time??? I love this idea!!!

      Thanks Janette! Thankfully I discovered my mistake in time or it might not have fit in my kiln! 😆 We creatives never give up, we just try again.

    I am loving this project! Sharing your thought process is invaluable & I appreciate you being transparent & not editing that out. 💜 I learned so much from listening to you talk through how you problem solved. I think I’ve watched every video you’ve made and I always gain valuable information and inspiration from you. Listening to the birds chirping and chickens clucking while you work makes me so envious! I’m curious, when you live in paradise 🌴☀️🌺 where do you vacation to? Seriously! LOL Also, do you plan to keep this project or sell it? I’ve got one more year left until until my BA in ceramics is complete & I still haven’t figured out how to not become emotionally attached to things I make! 🤣Anxiously awaiting video #2! 💜💜💜

      Oh my, thank you for your kind words, nothing makes me happier than inspiring others to go get creative! 🥰 I think the world needs more individual creativity and sharing. Yes, living here is a delight, it has it's cons too, like every where but it is lovely. I usually go visit my mom in The Netherlands for vacation, and off course then also visit other friends there and in Germany. I am self taught so I don't know how studying cermics works but my guess is you will get less emotionally attached to the things you make when you want to make a living from it and have to pay for everything yourself. 😅😂🤣 Just kidding, to make art you have to be emotionally involved somehow I think. I love ceramics so much, I love for my work to be out there in there new homes where others love it too. And I have to sell to be able to buy new materials and pay the electricity bill. Wether I sell the bird bath depends on if it turns out good . 😉

      @@nukuaceramicsbonaire I would love to visit Germany and the Netherlands 💜💜💜 Are you from there originally? So much truth in what you said about spreading joy to others with your work. It’s very easy for me to give the things I make to family. We have a fall pottery sale at school & I’ve decided to go for it finally and sell some stuff. I can’t wait to see how your hummingbird bath turns out! Thanks for your encouraging words, they mean a lot! 🤗

    So talented! Do you throw right handed but are a lefty? I'm left handed and it's a struggle to figure out what works. Definitely can't trim right

    • @nukuaceramicsbonaire
      @nukuaceramicsbonaire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Pam! Thank you! You are correct, I am a lefty but throw 'right handed'. Which is a strange concept in my mind because one uses both hands? 😅 I am self taught so I learned from others on video and left or right handed just never crossed my mind, I simply tried to copy the teachers. 🤣 I have that with more things where you work with 2 hands like crochet. When I need to use a tool I mostly work left handed too but I can mangae with my right hand sometimes too.

      @@nukuaceramicsbonaire I need to just get on the wheel and forget everything the park and rec teacher said! I ordered a lefty wheel so sink or swim.

      I am a leftie and throw on a right-handed wheel. I trim with my left hand. A man in the studio I go to learned on a lefties wheel. It started acting up, and he taught himself to use the right-handed wheel. Being a leftie, I think we adapt easier.

      @@nukuaceramicsbonaire I did a really dumb thing and sold my nice wheel that reversed. Then I bought a lefty only wheel. NOW I'm thinking I should also get a cheap one that reverses. I need a bigger shovel for the hole I keep digging!!!!
