I unfortunately missed out on a multitude of these opportunities during the past 2 years of my undergraduate, due to covid-19... I found online courses unengaging, became less social as a person, and lost interest in the classes I was so passionate about before. After the majority of the pandemic, I found myself changed as a person and less able to do rigorous work, and was more likely to cram and then subsequently forget about the things I learned. The effects of the pandemic cannot be understated. I am now deeply regretful about what I might have missed out on as I go into my final year with almost no human connections.
You couldn’t have described my situation better than this. Im in the same boat and I legitimately feel like im dumber than before, more forgetful, and more careless; regardless of if im successful with my classes or not. Like yea getting the grades is just a matter of putting in the time and all that but it’s totally different than actually fully engaging. Exactly what he said about people who audit a class wanting t be there. Like i still would like to take my calc3 class again by audit just so i can go beyond the material now that i have learned its basic because calc3 was amazingly cool in my opinion and during semester there were not enough time to go beyond a whole lot even though i attended every single office hour my professors had
why did I found out about this just now while I'm at the last semester of my senior year in college?! ... Update: I realize that I can start doing these things at any stage in my life. It doesn’t have to be while I’m in college. Great lesson, thank you!
Amazing how this applies to everything else in our life, not only to College! Although having studied engineering in Portugal, I didn't missed this opportunity of having a lesson with you. Thank you Professor, it was a honor!
Hi Dan, Thank you very much for doing these videos. You are the mentor that everyone needs. As a physics undergraduate student I truly appreciate any oportunity I get to be exposed to new ideas and things, it makes me think about all that exists and I yet don’t think/know about. Sincerely, Paola

Amazing video, I will use this advice!
These have been great videos. I wish I would have had them during my undergraduate. I'll still try to use them now though, during my PhD.
Truth. Thank You.
I look forward to the next installment. Please find a way to drop the F-bomb in the next one.
