This video is very helpful, but I have two questions: 1) when playing a song, there is a bar by the crown -- what is that bar indicating? and 2) I got the Jabra Elite Active 65t wireless earbuds and I love the way they fit and sound; however, I am having an issue with the playback of songs. Every song pauses and starts multiple times during playback on my run, sometimes as frequently as every 3-4 seconds. I have uninstalled and re-installed Spotify, done all my updates and still have this issue and I can't tell if it's a bad set of earbuds or something with the watch or Spotify. Any suggestions? Hey thanks for the kind words. The bar by the crown is a volume bar. I'm not sure what might cause the issues with your Jabra. I've uses them too and I haven't encountered this issue.

First of all, there's a sea of people, like me, who can't download their playlists to their Apple Watch despite the option being visible on both their iPhone and Apple Watch. But when they press "download to Apple Watch" it stays stuck on "downloading 1 of 50" on the Apple Watch and simply doesn't download anything. Then for people who don't have issues: 1) You're limited to 50 songs per playlist 2) The music quality is limited to 96kbps which is... pretty bad... All in all, streaming over cellular remains by far the best way to listen to music without having to take your iPhone with you.
@@nikdi2001 it's not like a crackling radio or anything, but the quality is noticeably lower than when listening from your iPhone. The difference is much bigger than for ex Spotify's regular music quality vs its highest music quality option.
@@nikdi2001 I can tell you that Apple limits the quality of Apple Music songs on your Apple Watch as well, but I don't know what the bitrate is. I do think it's higher than what Spotify allows on the Apple Watch. However, I can tell you that Apple Music allows for 250 songs to be downloaded offline on your Apple Watch. I think all of this is really disappointing. I wonder what the reasons for these limitations are. Surely storage is easily solvable. They could easily put 128GB of storage in there, such low storage costs nothing these days. I'm not sure if higher quality audio streaming consumes more power because that would be an explanation as the Apple Watch has such a small battery, I don't think it would consume more, but who knows.

I have not (to my knowledge) elected to pay for Premium, but during my experimentation, I found that I could play from my Apple watch. This happened indoors. Would I lose the signal outdoors?
Hi Terry, unless you pay for spotify premium and have a data plan on your watch, you will at some point lose your data connection outdoors (unless you take your phone with you of course)

Can you download one playlist of songs/music to your watch and then stop Spotify subscription? Will you still have access to those songs on your Apple Watch? I tried to do this with Apple Music and noticed that when you stop the subscription, you lose access to the Apple Music App, forcing you to keep paying the monthly subscription.

It astounds me that there is no way to download and play your own music to the Apple Watch. I know we are in the age of streaming, but come on, this should be a stupidly simple option.
You should do one on Strava for the Apple watch. You say you use it but it SUCKS! At least on the Nike app you can customize it a LITTLE. The apple run app is the worst it asks you to end your run everytime you stop.

Battery life is atrocious so forget any long workout sessions. For those doing longer then 3hrs, deactivate all gps / phone settings this should extend battery life somewhat so going to try that next
I biught the apple watch SE just to use Spotify while running. I am a tech person and I don’t understand how this work so bad. Most of the times the audios just stay downloading and never do. Now with the update you can in theory download directly in your watch’s app. But it’s still the same. I have delated the app and everything just works the same. I can’t belive that something so basic is becoming so annoying and I have to keep running without my music
Hey man, sorry to hear it. It's always possible the option hasn't rolled out to you yet, since it's a staggered release. In that case, all you can do is wait and try again in a little while.

may be it is connected to 2 devices using spotify and the headphones are jumping connection. Just keep it connected to one device while using spotify.

As far as I know, Spotify is the only third party app offering this functionality. What do you mean you lose signal, is your Apple watch not cellular?

If it's the cellular version. You can't stream without a data connection. You can download playlists. Just make sure you have spotify premium.
